it didnt cost fatshark anything because they were already in the game, to sum this all up they had all these assets, can almost guarantee you a lot of these assets you can go into w/e editor you have and checkmark whats visible and whats not. and thus how they make “variations” of skins that takes literal seconds. ive been modding for too damn long to know this is a massive insult.

I thought they at least had to put a couple of designers to work for this reward but since everything is already in the game for like a year (either already available in-game or datamined) what you say makes perfect sense.

and if you would like to see how this is done, imagine every part of said skin/clothes is put into pieces, to the far right you will see 4 eye icons underneath (new outfit), you can click a literal button to hide the asset piece. i cant speak on the tools they use, but if its easily done with modders tools i can betcha it’ll be easy for them too
Given that they’re mostly reskins, not sure I’d price the Vanguard pieces very high. Reskinning existing cosmetics in blue-grey isn’t terribly exciting.

This didn’t click in my head earlier when I read the thread (I think I was too occupied about the Vanguard pack in general), but I did wonder why the Zealot’s trousers were darker than the uniform jacket. The answer was already there. Ye Gads. I’m glad I didn’t buy the Krieg sets either, as the Psyker one was the closest I got to being tempted to buy one.

Honestly I don’t really like the vet set.
Zealot set I would be disappointed with if I bought since it has some awkward clipping and imo the penance garb looks better. The vest is ok but the hair clipping on the hood is just…no.
Ogryn set probably looks the best out of all of them but loses some points due to effectively being recolours.
Psyker set is 50/50, I personally don’t find it bad but I just think other stuff looks way better.
The backpack is…fine I guess? It’s got Alice Pack inspiration which is a plus but ehh.
Honestly I wish they made more of the cosmetics open so you could wear the hood on your vet and vets stuff on your zealot. I don’t see a reason why we are still locking sone head pieces when they should be interchangeable.
Tell the truth the closest I’ve gotten to wanting to actually buy a set was the Armageddon set since it feels like someone really liked the army it was based on and put a lot of care into it.
Literally add glows to the goggles and ill be glad to wear them.
Another issue is people so willing to defend them or/or dismiss owners of the imperial edition. I dont care about the aquilas since i wasnt going to get them anyway, but people saying stuff like ‘but theyd lose money!!!’ are so impossibly dense - the funny money isnt real. It takes literally ZERO amount of money to give you VIRTUAL sh*t. This is no different than the NFT scam that seemed so popular a while ago. The aquila you own isnt unique or limited. Its not a rare earth mineral, its not silver or gold. Hell its not even money because you can only use it in this game. Fatshark loses NOTHING giving aquillas. They sure as hell did lost a lot of future customers though when this is all we got. Well, that or they lost a lot of potential loyal fans.
I would rather want the choice to pick wich classes of the bundle i wanted and then got the rest of the cosmetics for the other classes that i did not want turned into aquillas instead of having 3 sets of skins that im never gone use
I would be a bit disappointed to blast 5 bucks on pants only to have them distributed for free to anyone else. But hey i’m no stupid enough to spend money on the MTX.
Maybe later when gearing/crafting is expanded upon. The grinde for Blessings is stupid and crafting is not worth while until you roll a weapon where you only need to change two things.
The original problem was that we didn’t get to pick what we got, they just chose that we would get the bundle, then it became more of an issue when everyone saw that it was just recolors of existing gear you get for free.
I only bought specifically the Ogryn Krieg chest because i just don’t like most of the other Ogryn chestpieces.
