Hiya there, buddy. Been a minute since we’ve chatted and I thought I’d just kinda swing by and let you know that if you haven’t yet noticed, by and wide, the new level is nice but every single communication you make between now and when you reveal anything is going to be about crafting.
You can say that any particular piece of communication you have between then and now isn’t about crafting, and I’ll even throw you a bone and believe you if you say you aren’t lying about it! But if you do, you have made a miscalculation as to the importance of the various things you’re updating us on.
Itemization is still, like a bloodied albatross, hanging around the neck of your product. It’s been blatantly unfinished for years, especially after the first time you “finished” it and then the second time you “fixed” it. It’s awful, it’s predatory, it makes your product worse, you don’t need it, please remove it, etc, so on, so forth, you already know all of these things. The new mission and new weapons will be nice when we get to play with them how we want which will take time and effort because our ability to do so is hamstrung by your reliance on RNG. I suspect that’s part of why you’ve been so dead, it’s because you’ve finally determined that there’s a new negative news cycle every time you update the equipment because of how badly you’ve implemented this.
In your devblog, whatever it is you say about itemization and progression - it could be a whole writeup, it could be a few hints, it could be “We’re not discussing crafting in this blog, that’s for next time”, it could be nothing - it’ll be the most important thing you say.
So please. For the love of Mike. For the love of your fans, who want to recommend your game to people. Please, tell us about itemization pretty soon. And understand that when you don’t, it’s as important as when you do.
