Having been on the receiving end of criticism against the collective, it can be just as demeaning to respond to criticism against the collective when you’re part of said collective. My point is, why would anyone be surprised to not receive any word back after such negativity?
It’d be wise on the part of the community to have a thread which is devoid of any and all such negativity to serve as a place for communication that holds their members accountable. Give Fatshark community reps the chance to be able to communicate there, talk with them about what sort of communication you’re seeking, ask them what works/what is realistic for them, and set goals to make bigger goals reached. (EDIT: From my recollection, FS has communicated when THEY want to talk to us. Perhaps it’d be wise on our part to make a simple request to say “lets have more communication.” Also worth asking if it’s possible, ask what the hold up has been thus far? I don’t imagine they’re doing nothing. I don’t think FS would pay someone to do nothing.) (EDIT 2: Set small goals that are easily accomplished. They won’t be what we want, but meeting goals is the behavior we want to reward them for and praise them for. Then we set more goals for them to reach, ask what’s viable, why it is or isn’t, and set goals that works for both sides. I see people wanting communication, people wanting change. You need to facilitate the environment for it to take place.)
At least, that’s what I’d do. You need to put the ball entirely in FS’ court, remove all blame and chance for blame in our end. If FS slips up, point to the exact chain of events that demonstrates where the slip up is, goals with the community not being met, failing to communicate, etc. If need be, ask for someone who can do the job better at communicating on the forums. Rinse and repeat the steps with that person. Establish context of the previous community liaison. THEN You could point the finger.
Is this forum anywhere near the level of toxic that some forums are? Forums run by professional studios? Hellllll nooooo.
Wez actually pretty darned chill hereabouts. I may call Juan (lead design at darktide) a bit of a goon, but hey, its light hearted joshing around.
Sure some folks may say “yo Fatshark, quit being dumb*sses” or what have you, but nothing quite the level of insane that Catfish has likely seen in her time being community manager on DOTA2 (yes really).
Also, I regularly visit the GEFORCE forums. HOOOOO BOY.
So ya, I do not think we are bad on here at all, I think we’re all pretty okay dudes. Even Badwin…
Yeah, that’s the tool of a weasel full offence. Someone disagrees with me, time to hit them with the flags. And it’s always the contrarians who love to waffle about on words and act far superior always causing a kerfuffle. I’ve seen you on many different topics elsewhere. You come in, state discussing anything even remotely critical of Fathsark is Toxic. Then you act as if you’re the victim when any kind of pushback comes at you, I don’t care if I get a strike against my account for this.
Someone needs to say this, in any discussion of any kind, individuals such as yourself love to take up the air space. You do anything to inflame any discussion and hide behind a thin veneer of civility. You are pathetic and go ahead and flag this post.
i am going to attack them nonstop, if i ever spot them in a mission i’m popping every barrel they come across. i don’t know or care about the context of anything you say i just want people to know i’m going to launch the CMs through the skies of tertium so they don’t have to listen to masozi’s jokes.
Right now, I would say that the average player interacts with… 1 stranger every 100 visits to the Morningstar. So I think it would be a great idea to put a cap on the number of Morningstar players walking around… maybe 6? This way there will be room for each player to have their own customizable living quarters. These rooms can be somewhere in a poorly lit corner, or subfloor, as too not interfere with daily operations. Decorations could then be earned via penances (or aquilas ~wink~wink).
Maybe I’m just an old gamer, but I grew up loving bestiaries. It’s a lot of fun to collect new information on the monsters you’ve been slaying throughout your adventure. It would also be very cool to see a lore system akin to Destiny 2 where one could read small lore excerpts after discovering or achieving a certain penance.
Compared to a studio that’s just around the corner and has dropped more in three months than Fatshark has in the past year and a half… while using the exact same engine.
