Havoc = objectively still wasted dev time

Bullkark lol

But hey keep throwing your angry magical wishing powers at this, even though you’ve given up on the game!

You mean something like claiming that High level Havoc and its modifiers are fine, despite never playing it?

Ah, yes, “opinion”. This is clearly an “opinion”, not an agenda you’re compulsively trying to push in every thread.

It’s wild how you can’t engage with an actual argument and have to resort to nonsense like claiming I have an agenda and not just a differing opinion.

It’s wild claiming that you have a “reasonable, informed opinion” on something that you have never tried firsthand. Not a single shed of self-awareness in sight.

It’s an opinion based on the following:

Havoc is designed to be hard as can be.

Some beat Havoc 40 in less than a week.

The modifiers forced some people who aren’t as good as they think they are to rely on crutch meta builds.

The really good people beat Havoc 40 in duos and running off-meta stuff.

That sounds fine to me (except that the really good people thought it was too easy, so now it’s harder).

The whole your point is “challenging=good” meanwhile THE WAY they butchered combat to be played like some moba is uninspiring and dumb, it’s designed for adhd tiktok zoomers.

And you can’t make any other point, cause you probably have 0 gamin expirience.

With such logic just make players to have 1 hp. It will be challenging, but is it a good design?

Is this supposed to be a feat?

These two things are not self-excluding. Do you realize that the same people who beat Havoc in duos with off-meta stuff also claimed that Havoc modifiers are trash? They also pointed out that performance gaps between between meta and off-meta builds are so insane, it’s basically playing a diffirent game. But s’all fine, right?

Ok so no we’re not arguing about me being a “liar” for having an opinion, we’re arguing some other garbage like “iS hAvOC ackTuALlY hARd?! OOoooO” and “oh so yOU thInK iT’S baLANcED?”

Give me a break.

Nah, my point still stands. You glaze for the sake of glazing and have no idea what you’re talking about, hence why your “opinion” is not relevant at all. You clearly don’t have nearly enough experience in the game because you spend more time being a sycophant on the forums instead of the actual playing lol.

Just take the L and move on.

Trying to fix havoc is like trying to fix DS but still keep its easy access crusher oneshot.
It just doesnt work as a mode.

You can easily port havoc modifiers as player chosen map options on ANY difficulty and then see what do people play and how to they stack it.

Then you break those down by player levels, what diff and what modifier they play on and you work off that.

In the end I don’t care what they do to Havoc as long as they will eventually fix balance on aurics and make them not free… it’s been so long though I wonder if they ever will. I hope they introduce a cataclysm equivalent one day

I really wanna see a DS take out 3 crushers in the time it takes a hammer to get one full hit off. But this exchange in power is not unique. There are plenty of other places where other powers/weapons are outperformed by others.

So let me ask you, where does the Thunder Hammer Really shine where others cannot?

Vast improvement indeed.

lol who said VAST? Putting aside the whole new platform, average player count during March of last year on Steam was 2,947.9. Last 30 days has been 4,307.2.

So, y’know ONLY an improvement of ~30%.

Nice disingenuous comparison. How about you actually take the numbers of an update drop a year ago and compare those. Then the difference is miniscule at best, but keep doing your damage control.

This update objectively killed havoc for the the actual target demographic and mortis trials is a one and done that no one will come back to just like orthus. Not to mention the balance being all over the place. Saying the game is in a great state is an absolute joke.

The update dropped yesterday. Do you understand averages?

Do you understand downward trends?

The fact it looks like this after a single day speaks volumes.

This would be called “cherry picking.”

Average player counts YoY are improved, Steam reviews score goes up LITERALLY every day. FS is still on track with their update schedule. Things are looking good for the health of the game.

A Darktide world without Havoc

  • Overall balance adjustments would have been made, making the game fun and challenging, with a simple one-button matchmaking system allowing beginners and veterans alike to easily find games.
  • new maps, new weapons (including ones for Veterans and Ogryns), new enemies, and new bosses would have been introduced.
  • The difficulty board would have been reworked, eliminating the need to wait for rotations to play with the modifiers you want.
  • each class would have had adjustments to its skill tree, along with completely new Blitz abilities.

Just imagine it. if they had spent just six months, about 70% of this could have been realized. But nothing happened.

in reality, the only thing we got was Ogryns becoming a playable class. and because balance is now centered around Havoc, the game is a complete mess — especially for high-level players who are no longer satisfied with Auric or Maelstrom. As a result, Havoc is the only viable option, forcing us to rely on the annoying party finder system. depending on the time of day or region, some players (myself included) waste time just trying to find a party.

especially during late-night hours, there are hardly any players queuing for Havoc. even after recruiting for 20 minutes, sometimes you still can’t fill the party. players already in the queue often leave because no one new is joining, and this cycle repeats itself. In the end, you can’t even play, you just quit the game after wasting your time.

frankly, the party finder system is trash. it simply doesn’t work with Darktide’s player base.
searched across three regions (including Hong Kong), and this is how Havoc looks — there’s only a single player
