Havoc is fun but I wish we could get a gametype like vt2's chaos waste

While I enjoy havoc, I feel like a gametype like vermintide 2’s chaos waste would offer more replayability. I hope they have something similar in the pipeline.

That’d be interesting. THe problem with Chaost waste is how much time it demands though. It’s a marathon sprint of like 5 levels back to back IIRC.

Which is exactly the kind of difficult content tons of people have been asking/waiting for. I can recall tons of people asking for Chaos Wastes, not one person anywhere even mentioned Weaves and all I have seen since release is “weaves 2.0”.

So, they knew what was needed to release in order to keep people interested yet they avoided it and instead released something that was KNOWN to be dead on arrival in VT2. Who is making decisions over there??

Quickplay system would offer more replayability

I’m not actually familiar with chaos wastes but see it get mentioned here a lot. Can someone describe what it’s like in simple terms please?

I didn’t even get a chance to play Chaos Wastes in V2 since I stopped playing around the time they released it but it looked like a very, very fun mode for people looking for an extra challenge that had cleared all the content.

I am sure someone else can give you a jist, but this is the best I can do lol

Now that Fatshark is FINALLY done porting to consoles, they should have the development resources needed to actually implement something like Chaos Wastes

:sob: :sob: Soon brother, soon.

it was a rogue-lite experience you start off with grey weapons and do a sequence of maps you have some choice over. (your always picking out of two but can drive towards shops or specials down the line)

during each map there is usually some modifies and you will find shrines that offer weapon change or upgrade at the cost of coins that you find in the maps. there are shrines and shops with permanent buffs and you can get quite powerful and diferent builds by the end of it then at the end you have normal and heroic style big fight stages , if you win get a bunch of chests.

its fun because of the builds getting those fun novel buffs and the conditions keep it fairly varied

I got my penances and I personally don’t see why I would ever touch it again. I guess if it REALLY grips me and I really want to play a game where all I do is chop down elites while I have gold toughness, sure

This is the one part of VT2 people I know always mentioned as the GOATed update. There must be someone in a high place over at FS who insists on Weave-like content over going with what clearly works because what company ignores a success like that? IDGAF about Chaos Wastes personally; the hard snowballing nature of certain perks got a bit tiresome for my taste, but it’d be nice if we had a mode in 40K where we could use weapons that might not be “”“lore friendly”“” or whatever.

Usually tho just because something isnt lore friendly doesnt mean its bad. More usually, the lore-friendly factor is only taken into account when needing to hammer in that an idea is dumb. imo

We kind of are getting there? Relic Blades are highly valued Space Marine weapons but now we’re handing them out like candy to disposable crackheads.

Something called ‘underhive’, uses the 2nd hive city your not allowed to talk about or something which just takes you to a bunch of hive city tileset presets that works like chaos wastes would be sick.

Could actually have balancing that isn’t just power creep vs power creep.

Worth noting that the maps themselves are also semi randomized, with multiple points where they can branch.

Fair enough, then perhaps they should make an amalgamation of havoc and chaos wasted where you’re allowed to stop mid run and resume it later so you don’t have to dedicate to five missions that last an average of 30 minutes each… or 150 minutes; 2.5 hours. I simply don’t have that kind of time, I’m also sure I’m not the only one.

Vermintide went rogue like with your gear and perks you pick up. You have a map with three planes each lane has intersecting paths to allow you to change course. Each path has like 5-7 missions that you need to complete to reach the end. Your weapon perks are randomized and you gradually upgrade your weapon as you go along while getting more abilities. It’s great if you have time to burn.

Sounds fun NGL!

I would agree except for the fact that each mission is nearly 30m in dark tide and a 5-7 mission path is something I don’t have time for. They should allow you to pause your assignments between missions if you take a similar type of journey in dark tide.

But then how would you incorporate other players in resuming your missions?

The duration is what made me leave vt2 for dt among Manny other things

I’m pretty sure each chaos wastes mission was significantly shorter than the average level.

It would be a little bit of travel, then crescendo bit then finished. Chaos wastes certainly didn’t take upwards of 2 hours.
