Why ? I was on the receiving end, it didn’t bug me…
P.S. Pretty sure your wrong on some key points in your last post there, but I don’t feel like confirming it, I’m pretty sure you’re spreading misinformation.
Here ya go: Wrong pic for my mod, accidentally saw a report here but can't reply in locked thread - #56 by gpkgpk
Pretty boring stuff!
Nah, I liked your posts, they were quite illuminating.
Yea yea yea
I said what I experimented… Cause, unlike you, I tested all the mods I have talked about.
No, FR, they were, you had the cojones to step up (some) and I learned something new about you, something I can even respect re:balance.
Hmm where bubble shields in vid?
lol I didn’t “step up.” My views have been entirely consistent. Advantages in-mission, from your visuals-enhancing mods to Spidey Sense to Decode Helper, don’t bother me in the least because of the hard limitations imposed by the server-authoritative nature of the game and the assurances afforded by the modding policy that if anyone starts doing crazy game-breaking crap (like teleporting or auto-killing everything on the map or insta-kicking players) that it’ll be handled.
You don’t accept that that’s a valid POV (and instead seem to consider it a moral/ethical failing), and that’s fine.
Oh the irony, the whole point of that thread was that I accidentally trolled the cheaters by having the wrong pic on my old mod page, a charge that @Amelia spearheaded more than once, @Badwin seconded and all the other chuds got aboard. Not one of them tested my little mod (that you said you liked) to see what it actually did.
My erroneous screenshot trolled them all so hard that not only did it not do what they thought it did, in a futile attempt to shoehorn a false equivalence between what I did and ESP cheaty mods, not a one noticed that a non-trivial effort was actually made to keep it balanced where possible, and that a little something was also given up in the process.
Cause, unlike you
Oh come now, not only did I test them all I looked at them under the hood, and while none of us are always right 100% of the time, to err is human, I also make an effort not to spread misinformation. Your track record and takes on stuff is…not great. I’m starting to figure out who spam-flagged that post in an attemp to hide it.
Aw, you really shouldn’t have.
you get exposed, which was different. you felt being called out and now you had to change/update the pictures of the mod to defend yourself (who knows why you didn’t before a year ago).
but it is ok, good change i guess, at least it shows what it does clearly.
(because before it was kinda misleading/cheaty/unfair)
btw dunno why you keep pinging me here despite having blocked me, which is a bit incoherent.
if you wanna dialogue you could have it simply by not blocking in the first place, and have a mature dialogue. until then, beside this message i won’t partake any of your discussions cause you are just doing with the intent to flame as the usual, so it doesn’t lead to anywhere.
tl;dr: gpk with sus cheaty mods, exposed by the community
Fellas, keep it civil.
Y’all just came out of a locked thread, there’s no need to repeat it
It was not meant to be ironic. Apologize if you had this feeling.
That was just what I have think you did… Cause many times you made statements about what you consider cheaty mods that were inaccurate.
I am glad that you tested them.
However, i have the feeling that you have not tested them enough.
By example, what I said about spidey sense is what happened to me several times. I have seen specials that were not seen by the mod
As the mod relies on sounds, i guess that if the sound is not played at all (see @amelia report) the mod doesn’t see them.
As I said you, I respect the fact you have a different opinion than me. As I told you, I feel that you can be rude sometimes. And that’s not a surprise that this behavior makes others rude in return.
However, when I see something that I think is not following the forum rules, I report it.
Especially when it is free attacks… And the fact we are not agree is not something that can change my mind on the need to report
I told you… I work in legal field… I am a little rigid in such topics.
if Y’ALLL CAN’T BEHAVEE!!!
Ha, exposed, there was nothing to expose except how yous got accidentally trolled, could not have planned that better if I wanted to; priceless.
What I love is despite all the obvious hints, the main points went over your head…or did they?
How interesting, the previous wrong picture seemed cheaty and unfair to you? But all the actual ESP mods…don’t illicit any response from you?
Aw, don’t sell yourself short, you did step-up some.
Yes, I consider people who use actually cheats to have moral/ethical failings, and ESP mod/h4x have always cheats (even on wikipedia). Pretending a blatant cheat is not a cheat is dishonest, and normalizing cheats due to popularity is too. A 100% client-side cheat is still a cheat.
I was just pleasantly surprised that you could see how removing the VFX from Force Blocking could be considered to affect balance, and extrapolated from that, removing the same VFX from the bubble shield could be considered unbalanced on a much larger scale.
P.S. For the sake of argument, say my little mod that you found so troublesome actually did remove the smite strobing VFX and replaced it with nothing, how does that compare to the most popular ESP mods ?
How do you and @Amelia reconcile and equate the two and put them in the same bucket? Is CleanForceBlocking then the same as the ESP mods?
I notice you both continuously fail to acknowledge the actual attempt to balance I made, and what was lost in doing so (if anything).
Correct, but if history shows us anything,
it’s that people generally don’t learn from past mistakes
or they forget the lessons learned very quickly.

And sometimes, they just can’t quit!
(is it me? it’s me…)
I asked chatgpt to answer the question, is a mod authorized a cheat?
Context is always important… I had forgotten, and got this answer
Then I added the context
I firmly believe that your definition of a “cheat” is totally inappropriate.
Are we really at the point where a machine trained to give probabilistic responses to random input trumps the ability to reason and evaluate on our own thoughts and experiences?
I wholeheartedly disagree with point 2 made by ChatGPT:
PVE Lacks Direct Competition - Since players are not competing against each other but against AI, an advantage from a mod does not create an unfair situation against other players
This is a complete garbage take. If I had a mod that allowed me to OHKO any enemy in the game and an aimbot that could aim perfectly at any enemy, with an unlimited ammo cheat. I could kill everything on screen instantaneously just by walking forward. No one else would be able to even play the game. This is by definition an unfair situation against other players. That’s an extreme example, so let’s tone it down a notch.
If I have a mod that gives me a visual alert when a a special spawns that no one else has, then I have an unfair advantage over my teammates. I know when a special is coming before they do. So when they’re taken by surprise by a trapper, I’m already prepared for it. There’s some wiggle room for this being treated as an Accessibility Feature so I don’t think it should be banned but instead incorporated into the game like how there’s often colorblind modes in games that can be used by non colorblind people to make visual indicators more visible (League of Legends is one where I used this.) or Closed Captions for hard-of-hearing people that can help non-hearing impaired players get a visual indicator of what’s going on. These are still “unfair advantages” against people who don’t use them, but they are authorized by the developers and available to everyone. Console players can’t use mods in DTs case, so unless it’s added as an Accessibility Feature all mods like Spidey Sense fall into “unfair advantage” category.
We should go back to augury, or scratching questions in ox bones before throwing them into fire.
Now in the general sense, do some of the mods go to far to me yes. But not all.
I do not want FS to ban modding (or have it work like VT2 where mod are on their own side), but I do want them to regulate thing more.
From the 5 first page of the Nexus:
- Tree Helper: Will have to check it, but as I understand, highlight the correct circle
- Health bar: While it give additional information, tbh I don’t think it really will help, but still on the line
- Extended weapon customisation: If sights are supposed to be part of the balance, then it does cross it
- Collectible finder: Highlight collectible, making it easier, so cheating on a smaller part of the game
- Spidey Sense: Is it accessibility, or cheating. That’s debatable.
- Decode Helper: Somewhat the same as Tree Helper, but doesn’t really change as much compared to it
Those are all example where I would consider that it’s to FS to set the line properly.
And of these, I would say that some should be blocked, mainly Health bar, Collectible finder, and the 2 Helpers
As there is no way to consider them as accessibility help.
