Game won't launch, darktide.exe in background processes

Issue Description (Required):

The game worked just fine yesterday but I alt-F4ed out of the game mid-mission because I had to leave. Since then, the game will show as “running” in Steam and darktide.exe shows up in the background processes list in Task Manager, but it never pops up the launcher, and I can’t bypass it by running darktide.exe from the game folder because that gives a backend login error.

I’m on windows 11, everything’s up to date.

@Hexenritter that’s unusal. If you haven’t already done so, please try:

  • Restarting your PC
  • Fully sign-out and close Steam (close processes in Task Manager). Then restart Steam and log back in

If the issue still occurs, please can you provide your launcher log and most recent console log (if they are being generated):

Weirdly, the issue seems to have resolved itself. I forgot I’d left my PC running with it trying to load the launcher last night. I came back to the launcher up just now, Xed it out, and tried relaunching the game and the launcher fired up almost immediately. I apologise for the inconvenience.
