Game Randomly Crashes and Freezes Computer

We kindly ask that you complete the questions below. With this information, we can investigate your issue properly.

Issue Description:
At random intervals, usually within an hours worth of play, sometimes 2, the game screen will freeze entirely, but audio can still be heard. I will be able to move the mouse around for a bit, before it eventually also freezes completely and the computer has to be powered off. This is the only game that causes it, with this frequency.

Geforce RTX 3060 Ti, it started happening when I was running outdated drivers, but updating them did not solve the problem.

Crash Report (If Applicable):
[Please see instructions on how to provide a crash report in the pinned Topic]

Error Displayed (If Applicable):
Since the screen is frozen, there’s no error displayed.

Steps to Reproduce:
[Please add the steps that can help our QA department in reproducing the issue. For example:]
Literally just play the game for an extended period of time, at least 20-30 minutes. Any mission and class will do.

Any.

Platform:
Steam

Player ID:
BUTTER ETERNAL

Approx. Time of Issue & Timezone:
I would say roughly since the release of Hotfix 1.0.6.

Reproduction Rate:
Rather common.

(I’m not sure about the second one, I have so many logs.)

Can you run a full windows update and then reboot your system

Normally if an application freezes you should still be able to do a ctrl-alt-del to exit the game. If the entire system is freezing that seems odd.

Windows is up to date. Not sure how useful it’ll be, but each crash shows up as a Kernel-Power 41 error in the event viewer.

Since you’re manually pulling the power that Kernel Power error is expected, as its windows detecting an abnormal shutdown.
What anti-virus are you running? Can you try disabling yoru anti-virus entirely?

Its just WIndows Defender.

Unfortunately I do not have a Ryzen CPU, it is an Intel Corei5 125600k. Motherboard is a Gigabyte Z690. I havent had time to play with the new patch, will do so now and report back if the PC croaks again.

After playing for several days now without any hard freezes (but it still occasionally crashes to desktop) I think my troubles might be over. I’m unfortunately not entirely sure what I did that solved it, or if it was due to a patch fix, but regardless I’m glad its sorted for now.
