Fails to open after clicking play on launcher. If I select modded realm the game opens like normal, however selecting official realm a small window will briefly pop up then disappear after a few seconds. There is no error code or explicit crash. Steam shows that the game is running. Task manager shows that the Launcher for Vermintide is running. I have attempted multiple fixes and no differences were seen. I have tried selective start-up and deselected start up items. Deleting the Anti-Cheat certificates, reinstalling, and verifying file integrity. Granting windows fire wall and virus exceptions. Also tried the .NET Framework repair. I’ve tried a list of other fixes and the last few days and no luck. It’s weird because at first I was able to get the game running and played for a bit, but now it’s a constant problem.
As this issue only occurs in Official realm, this indicates a conflict with Easy Anti-Cheat.
I recommend to try the following -
Repair/reinstall Easy Anti-Cheat:
Navigate to: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat
Run the EasyAntiCheat_Setup installer and proceed as instructed
Perform a ‘Selective Startup’:
Press the Windows key
Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
Reboot your PC
Launch Vermintide 2 as normal
If the error no longer persists after having performed the Selective Startup, you will need to re-enable each of your usual background applications one-by-one until the error reoccurs, to determine which is interfering with Easy Anti-Cheat
Ensure appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions are in place for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat. Please try adding following exceptions:
vermintide2.exe in \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries
vermintide2_dx12.exe in \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries_dx12
EasyAntiCheat.exe in \Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat
