Emp Bow has a “worse” arc, but not only. It has also an higher spread.
With Elf Bow you can move while max zoom.
Sorry, but it’s nonsense… if X weapon/career is less easy to use, it must have some tradeoff to compensate the lackness… you can’t just say “when you become good, you don’t feel this difference”.
Honestly, as you said, it’s nonsense to talk about WHC’s tag… should I play HS only when there is a WHC? °-°
Moreover there are other two factors:
maybe also WS can reach some new breakpoints (I mean with WHC’s tag);
even with WHC’s tag you need a lot of properties vs skaven/armour… normally HS doesn’t play with them.
But, seriously, I don’t want talk about WHC’s tag.
But if you put cdr property you have to give up to stamina regen or crit %… both super-useful. You can’t say it “lightly”.
Moreover the speech about ult’s cdr was another. Someone, I don’t remember who, said: “you can reach the breakpoints vs specials using the ult”. But you haven’t the ult ready for every special and anyway you could not waste it against every single special.
Apart this, yep, I would like to see a little buff to HS’ ult… for example it could give the ability to penetrate shields… but this is another speech. I don’t want to go off topic.
Sure, CW hides the head “vs every career”, but here someone said “HS’ damage vs CW is an enough tradeoff”.
I was explaining that it can’t be enough both because it’s one only advantage (vs several disadvantage) and because there is this possibility that the CW hides its head (so it protects itself “from HS”).
The disadvantages aren’t minuscule and the high damage vs one target is useful only vs CW (since Elf Bow and Crossbow can reach the same breakpoints and they are more versatile). Or at least this is my vision. I don’t want to convince you… our opinions are too different, we can’t find a common point. Wich is fine, everyone has his idea
Sure, I mean, I consider you a friend on this forum… we have talked so much about many different arguments (always with civil and motivated posts). It’s a pleasure, but sometimes two different ideas are simply different
Hunter’s prowl lets you one shot body shot Leech, Stormer, Globadier, Packmaster, Berserker (or Monk), and Stormvermin with a full charged shot. You can also light shot Leech, Stormer, Globadier, Gor and Marauder, then 2 shot light shot Maulers, 3 shot light headshot Chaos Warrior and 1 light head shot Stormvermin, Ratling, Flamerat, Monk, Berserker, Bestigor and Wargor. The light breakpoints I think are pretty good since the penetration of the heavies doesn’t do you anything when hitting most of these targets anyway and the much higher fire rate means much more killing!
And this is another problem… it’s pretty ridicolous how Hunter’s Prowl almost doesn’t help the full charged shots; indeed another interesting buff could be give more penetration to them (to full charged arrows, I mean).
Quick shots and Hunter’s Prowl can give a good burst of damage, you are right… But they have bad accuracy and a very bad penetration.
Moreover Hunter’s Prowl forces you to an hard choice: cooldown reduction OR invisibility?
If you choose CD reduction, you haven’t full control on the ult (something could spawn behind you and hit you) and you can’t use it when you really needs it (for example when you are surrounded by enemies).
If you choose invisibility, the cooldown is really long.
I have understood what you are saying, indeed I’m NOT writing that Huntsman/Emp Bow is trash… But Hunter’s Prowl itself isn’t enough to compensate the Huntsman/Emp Bow’s disadvantages.
Also because we have to remember that BH and WS have Blessed and Bloodshot… Wich give better breakpoints than Hunter’s Prowl. And they are simple passive/talents, so much more reliable.
nice test… now add 100+ ping couple of enemies and enjoy being hit. is not only this 2 weapons all of them. this is the major problem of this game and FS dont understand that there is 3 players with ping and what they do… is play test only as host.
i miss the weapon switch mod from vt1.

Moreover I have to add that sometimes Emp Bow does a strange animation during the weapons switch… Like if it had to load another arrow.
Dunno if it’s a bug, ping or what.
It’s intentional, it exists for every ranged weapon aside elf longbow and Sienna’s staffs.
If you switch back to melee before reloading you’ll be forced to reload upon using ranged again.
Elf longbow reload is “0.00”, it forces the reload before you can switch weapons which is why you never notice forced elf longbow reloads after switching. It’s also why there is a large amount of delay to switch back to melee/block.
There’s shorter delay to load Emp Bow after firing compared to trying to load an arrow after switching from melee. Better to switch once the arrow is loaded, allowing you to practically go into a full charge after switching from melee.
First off, both Longbows in this game are clearly overpowered.
Empire Longbow is an excellent weapon, the implementation compared to the waystalker longbow really impressed me. Waystalker Longbow is ofc easier to use.
Empire Longbow:
Unlimited ammo if you are a decent player, a crit machine career, go scrounger if you don’t headshot enough. Playing cata you will have enough specials to kill so you could probably play hunter instead (I personally do)
Eradicates hordes very fast (they melt if lined up) and fills up your Ammo if you have scrounger if you have the 25% extra crit chance on HSs. Your Melee mates will get sad maybe lol
Elites and Specials, yes Waystalker is better for this but would be a joke if she wasn’t. Still very easily deals with both just a little bit higher skill ceiling here.
The ult especially paired with pots destroys monsters, your WS does not get that burstdamage.
People complaining about the Empire Longbow are mostly people used to easy mode with the waystalker and just in need of a bit more practice with the huntsman.
