EAC - Waiting for Game and then game doesn't load

When booting the game into official realm through the launcher, I see the EAC screen go through initializing and then onto waiting for game. It then hangs for 45 seconds before the EAC window closes but the game never actually launches.

Steam shows the game is running and if I ctrl-alt-del, I see the “Launcher.exe Launcher for ‘Warhammer: Vermintide 2’ (32 bit)” running and I see the vermentide2.exe running and I see the launcher when alt-tab but it never opens.

I can close the game and the cycle repeats. If I load the game to modded realm, it boots every time but the log file shows that EAC was successful.

No console log is generated as the game never officially loads. I have tried the temporary launcher and have the same problem.

This happens 99% of the time. Very occasionally, the game will load correctly but unable to replicate reliability.

I have verified game files, adjusted my start-up to verify no non-Microsoft services are running, run sfc /scannow, uninstalled and reinstalled the game to no avail.

Sorry to hear this. I’ve discussed with the development team and it’s quite unusual!

As you can start in Modded realm, this indicates the issue is EAC-related as EAC is only applied in Official realm. It’s a shot in the dark, but perhaps the issue is file/permissions related. Do you have full permissions to the drive and directories that EAC is installed to?

It could also be worth checking Anti-Virus/Firewall and adding exceptions in case EAC is being quarantined or blocked in some way.

Also, we’re in the process of testing a new EAC update which should roll out soonish. Once this update goes live, I’ll let you know, just in case the issue gets resolved by this.

%AppData%\EasyAntiCheat\service.log

This may give us some clues :crossed_fingers:
