yes the cosmetics are really bad, good thing cosmetics are literally the least important thing in a game
God forbid you have to actually play the game to get rewarded for time invested.
There’s expectations associated with a game based on whether it’s free or full-price. Personally, I expect any and all basic recolours (ie, no changes to the item model) to be worth half an hour or one mission per piece, at most, in a game I’ve paid full price for.
Fancy cosmetics that use a custom model or animations or have other visual or sound effects? Sure. Those can take longer to get or cost real money. But basic recolours? Nah.
This doesn’t really affect me personally, since I’m one of those people that’ll probably end up with more currency than I know what to do with, but I do think aggressive monetisation and trying to extend engagement through grinding for trinkets is an unhealthy standard in gaming and is usually disrespectful towards players.

I feel like V2 drip fed cosmetics enough to make the exorbitant premium cosmetic prices feel unfair. However the volume of whats already in game complemented with hopefully a few free cosmetic packs over time should be enough to take the sting out of premium prices for players that feel compelled enough to want them.

Darktide is presently that vehicle, it is not an ice breaker no, but it is following their path, and I do not think three drivers to an in game cashshop is unacceptable, cosmetic paid and free should be of equivlent value, one in time, and in money, ideally, I understand there must be a prefferance for cash, but three penalties, this is too much.

It is not plentyful for me, the bounties of the game locked to me as they are any new player, and a good first impression it is not. I am happy to spend real money, if the game deserves it, but I care for those who cannot do so, I have a care for, and their experiance is not only less, but also constrained by three mechanics designed to shove them into the cash shop, which they might ill afford. The shop is RNG with 96 items, making getting an item in the colour you want a distant dream.

The prices are a little insulting. I mean sure they are cosmetics but 165,000 for a crappy looking face mask thats almost identical to the penance one? forget about it

I admit it is a daunting precedent, but if I put in the same effort, its entitled to expect more for the same effort, it’s just perspective to call it entitled or not.
Conservatives say its entitled to get a share of someones earings when its allot, Liberials says its entitled to want to keep it, entitled is a useless thing to say and has no real bearing on the debate.
I am suggesting difficulty and challange is not something to be rewarded, and that alternative methods could be utilised, its a tanget, but an interesting one.

They, playing on a HARDER DIFFICULTY are putting in MORE effort than you. Not ‘the same’.
Thus; they get bigger rewards, because a harder difficulty requires more effort, and more teamwork.
But you are basically saying ‘I work as hard (Source: Trust me), so I should get what they get.’

Or, you could accept that people playing a Harder difficulty get better rewards, instead of expecting the devs to overhaul the entire system just to make you happy.

Oh and you forget the actual alternative: Allow players to actually earn cosmetics through gameplay challenges. I’d much rather have cosmetics tied to penances than mindlessly grind for 6 hours to buy one pair of lazily recolored pants.
they’re not putting more effort, I have a disability. It takes me contining effort not the be distracted by something else. The game doesnt account for that, and it could therefore as effort is the matrix selected, be submitted I should be equally compensated.
Its not about the polotics its about entitled being a useless and unproductive word that doesnt advance the conversation.

Pennances are currently a hot mess tho, they require you to handicap other players, like cosmetic progression currently does, like when I do killshot torso, I’m basically going to be on the intial landing pad all game, or I would if I didnt know the disconnect cheat.
I ground for hours for cosmetics in tomb raider legend, because it was fun, playing the same few missions over and over to get something which is effectively time limited isnt.

I have a disability, too. I’m slow. No joke; I am slower than your average person, when it comes to thinking and reacting. I’ve made peace with it.
I can’t play RTS games because I’m a sitting duck compared to my friends or pub players.
I also can’t remember all the hotkeys. A bad short-term memory (Preamature baby) mixed with 6 years of abuse.
I don’t expect the developers to overhaul Starcraft or Warcraft or whatever new RTS games are out just to cater to my inability to think as fast as everyone else.
I don’t demand more prizes because I’m disabled.
Such a horrid mindset to have. ‘I’m disabled, so give me more’.
It’s a game, not something required to live or stay warm in the winter or cool in the summer.
