Bring Back Shop Cosmetics

A monkey with half a brain will know disabling the cosmetics in the shop isn’t for US, but for Fatshark to look like it isn’t their priority. To add to their “goodwill”.

I can obviously understand halting progress on any new cosmetics, which they should while fixing the rest of the game.

Yet we all know from the leaks and release schedule of the first few, they clearly have a lot already finished and ready to be released.

Not releasing them is just making a stagnate game more stagnant.

If I want to spend some of my money on this bunk ass game, that’s my choice.

sigh, i will never understand why people use real money to buy stuff in game.

because they can

i will never understand a lot of things, but people are different and they can do whatever they want as long as it doesnt harm other people.

this said. a lot or people do things that harm other people and everyone is ok with it.
but still its not a question of understanding, but a question to learn to deal with it and as much as possible to be not affected.

so? if im spending 100$ on a video game i dont want a paid shop, i understand darktide is 40$ but still you just make urself look like a shitty company who only cares about money

what company does not?

Its not 1990 and we are not talking about a niche anymore, gaming is popular like hell, lots of addicts, lots of marketing bull*** and all that.
I play for 35 years, it mostly does not affected me anymore and i spend the money i can or want, but never fall for it to buy everything or got trapped.
If i buy some cosmetics it’s like buying a ticket for cinema. nice to watch at, and thats it.
Buyed 3 single headpieces for 3 classes, goggles, black hood and an alternatice psyker headpice that fits with the penance armor. Will maybe buy more small things, because play much and summed up its still less than the imperial edition that i didnt buy.

The thing is, there is no good old times. Good old times games looked like **** and had less production costs and were made by dedicated people, but look at Roberts, Molyneux, Gariott.
Or look at the story behind Gilbert and Shafer and Monkey Island.
Even indie games come as EA with Shops nowadays or selling DLC while still in Beta XD

Not worth to get upset! If game is fun play, if you want to buy, buy, if not then not.
Really the sin of complaining about how things just are is just that a sin.

Because it gives me enjoyment?

Would I have preferred if ALL cosmetics were earnable? Of course. I’d chose that every-time.

But that went away when Horse Armor became a thing.

I’m not broke, so spending 10 buck here and there In a game I play for over 200 hundred hours isn’t a big deal to me at all.

The only way to bring back some of these premium cosmetics right now is to release them for free as part of Penances or to sell them for Melk Bucks in the Requisitorium.

Specifically, I mean stuff like the Bandanas and some of the Helmets.

Go ahead, sell us those premium bundles with iconic outfits. Hell, I might even buy them if the game is 100% completed and the main issues are fixed.

But don’t expect me to ever shell out real money for a f***ing eyepatch or bandages.

the horse armor became a thing because… people kept buying things…

Yeah, and here we are almost two decades later. That discussion for change has long passed.

Anyway, people clearly voted with their wallets.

spending money is enjoyable? love to live in your world where you can just spend money so willy nilly

Was it pulled because of good will or was it pulled because the player count is so low that opening it up right now would mean a lesser ROI?

Those of us who don’t trust Fatshark speculate it’s the latter.

how can that be?
Work is already done, they can sell it and profit from selling them forever from now on.
like someone said above read about the Horse Armor DLC in Oblivion, wouldnt wonder if it still sells 16 years later.

edit:
they pull to make exactly that happen what i did with my thread and what happens here. Aksing them to release more and sell them.

The funny thing is even the leaks are working for them. One could say they wanted it to be leaked to make it happen like it actually happens.

When the CEO said, the game runs well i think they selled a lot of cosmetics already.
In almost every lobby i am is someone with paid cosmetics.

Among all the problems game have, issues it faces, horrible design choices, lack of content, lack of communication, lack of features like crafting (which is badly designed on top currently), lack of quality control, lack of build diversities, lack of weapon balance, lack of deadlines, roadmap and facing minimum many many months of them slowly trying to change something:

Your main problem is that you can’t spend more money on virtual cloths? Seriously?

Take those money and buy something nice and useful in real life or at least buy something in another game. I am lost at words.

Why would that be a sign of goodwill? A sign of goodwill on the part of FS would have been to disable the store completely until they have the game in a reasonable state.
And how far does this store make the game less stangnant? All you do is press a button and that’s all the interaction there is. None of the game mechanics even have any influence on paid cosmetics and vice versa.

If they really wanted to show good will, then they’d start releasing a lot of those leaked paid cosmetics as earnable in-game with new penances or something

(…penances where they’ve learned their mistakes of not being trolling and terrible for teamplay)

They’re definitely just delaying the cash shop because player count is record low so it doesn’t make financial sense.

Or they could make the various cosmetics (veteran vox set, vox headset, rebreather with goggles; ogryn armour; psyker sanctionite visor; zealot scripture and eyepatch) that appeared in the marketing, cutscenes, character creation, and splash and start pages unlockable.

Instead, creating a post demanding to bring the premium shop back.
