I don’t understand, you said it’s broken but then said it follows the event spawn rules?
edit: okay, you’re saying the timer between spawns stopped working?

That gasrat at 3.03 in the second video, people tell me it´s “easy” to spot em and deal with em before they can mess up any kind of turtle strategy ._.
…
But yeah the spawns are really inconsistent and random, some people get one wave of chaos warriors with no specials at the same time and others get 3 waves of warriors, stormermin and specials 3 times in a row with little time between each.
In most games, it’s called a DPS check. If you’re not killing enemies fast enough, you’re going to get overwhelmed.
Specials spawn in the holes around the arena. That’s where your sniper needs to be looking.
Whilst you are correct about the dps check, let’s not ignore what the first video CLEARLY showcases.
At 2:33 you can see a Stromvermin and a Chaos Warrior. Watching further shows that this wave brings about 3 of each. At 2:51-2:53 a new wave consisting of Stormvermin and Chaos Warriors arrive. 3:03 shows us that there 4 Chaos Warriors in the ritual circle and there’s a 5th on Kruber at 3:09.
This video shows that the player had around 15 seconds to clear out 3 CWs and 3 SV in order to make a clean start on the second wave of CWs and SV. Let’s not forget about the obligatory specials which show up during this. Even if the bots were replaced with the average Legend player, this is a lot.
That video is old and since then, the end event has been shortened. It was never officially announced in the patch notes but the time between each sorcerer to die has been reduced. The end event is definitely way easier than it was prior to the engineer patch.
Yes, it’s the armor wave. You have to prepare for it as it starts the same time each time.
If you haven’t noticed, the lord fights and end events were designed with MMO style mechanics. Martin Wahlund is a huge Path of Exile fan and has integrated some of it’s mechanics into this game.
If you don’t understand how the event works, of course you’re going to have a bad time. I get CoD at least once every day during my solo QP runs and it’s been fine. Sure, I get people looking to complete it for their legend skins and they do die but it’s nothing I can’t handle as I’ve played this game since the Closed Beta Test.
The most important thing you should take away from this is that you learn your career, your strengths and weaknesses, see what you’re doing wrong, and of course learn how the event works.
If you play a lot of Seek and Destroy legend deeds, regular legend CoD doesn’t seem that bad.
Also, if you’re having problems with the specials on legend then you will not be prepared for cataclysm as there is no special spawn cap. I’ve gotten 3 assassins and 2 leeches at the same time on cataclysm and as long as you’re paying attention then they are not a problem.
All of the enemies and specials spawn from the same areas. If you know where to look then you can take them out much faster. Unfortunately in my experience, no one looks for them and no one tags them. This is where the problem lies.
That is not a Fatshark problem.
First video is new, I recorded it yesterday.

Still… the specials weren’t the problem in the event.
Things went to Hell because of blightstormer merged with background and a gun rat that messed with bots’ AI.
No, not a problem at all

But no one was looking for specials when they all spawn from the same 3 areas… You all were only reacting to them once they became a problem because you let them become a problem.
That’s a player problem, not a Fatshark problem. I can destroy all the specials on legend CoD before they can even get to the ritual circle and become a problem but that’s from learning where they spawn.
Party Knife made several videos about the spawn locations for Convo. You should check them out.
70% of the players on this forum, arguably the more dedicated and skilled players in the game think the event is overtuned.
30% of those more dedicated players think its appropriate for the difficulty.
Still we have folks throwing out the “git gud”
I mean… obviously its beatable. Obviously its challenging.
The argument is that it is overtuned for its difficulty in comparison to the rest of the maps.
Its not difficult to see that it IS, in fact, overtuned for most players at the difficulty they play it.
I’m not even sure why this is an argument aside some players who want the whole game harder. Just play up a difficulty if you think your CoD at your difficulty is easy.
Still… the specials weren’t the problem in the event.
Are you not reading what I am writing down? How can I make it more clear?!?!

^This is the problem. This! Do I need to write this down in pink in multiple languages?
3 Chaos Warriors + 3 Stormvermin + plus specials = You have 15 seconds.
And I am not talking you who probably has thousands of hours. This is not about you and your skill level but the player who has 300-400 hours or whatever represents the AVERAGE LEGEND player. AVERAGE!! What don’t you understand?
30% of those more dedicated players think its appropriate for the difficulty.
It’s only “hard” because the other end events were nerfed into the ground. Convo has been the same since launch.
No one complained about it then until everything else was nerfed.
People just forgot how to play Convo because everything else can be face rolled by spamming M1

It’s the armor wave. Did I not make that clear? It’s always been like this on legend as far back as I can remember.
But sure blame Fatshark for your bad decisions in the game. It’s already been heavily nerfed numerous times over.
Convo is not hard. Just learn to look for specials and tag them for your sniper.
Convo has been the same since launch.
That is like … um … factually wrong.
I’m not necessarily arguing against what you want to say. However, your attitude and making false statements does not make up for a very endearing case.

I just think folks that have stuck it out since launch underestimate how difficult it is for most players.
It doesn’t make sense for CoD to be the map that is overtuned for its difficultly. No matter how “easy” it might be for most of us who are experienced and understand the game.
The barriers to Cata are 5 missions that are arguably easier, including Into the Nest ( which is a joke for its difficultly level )
It would make sense to make these 5 missions the hardest skill barrier missions to progress to Cata.
If you can beat CoD on legend, you are going to have an easy time with alot of the missions on Cata like Screaming Bell, Against the Grain, Into the Nest, Fort Baconator, Righteous Stand etc.
Its just bad design.
No one complained about it then until everything else was nerfed.
Well they did actually and then quit the game lol
blah blah blah gitgud blah blah blah
Let me spell it out.
I can’t play with regular people properly because of like 70% chance of disconnect (there’s a set of condintions I can do nothing about). I like this game, yet I’m forced to play with bots.
So I am the one killing specials.
I am the one killing elites.
I am the one clearing hordes.
I am the one keeping bots alive, because they can’t do any of that properly.
Legend is beatable with bots, but Convocation of Decay stands out.
I’m forced to watch three, as you say, different directions to seek dark green specials on dark green background with an optional flashbang into my eyes, trying to kill several chaos warriors and stormvermin who keep coming non stop because the bots don’t do sh*t about them.
No, this event is flawed and should be reworked.
Legend is beatable with bots, but Convocation of Decay stands out.
Exactly. Its about consistency
In most games, it’s called a DPS check. If you’re not killing enemies fast enough, you’re going to get overwhelmed.
No i mean literally, the spawns are not the same every time, that or they can bug out and be different.
So to be clear, Its not a case of “oh i could not kill the warriors in time so now the stormvermin and specials that spawned afterwards are now coming into the circle”.
Instead its a case of “oh the stormvermin, the chaos warriors and a whole heap of specials spawned at the same time and they are all rushing into the circle at the same time. And there is another such wave right behind it”
The first is a DPS check, the latter is…well, more like a consecutive nuke check.
It’s only “hard” because the other end events were nerfed into the ground. Convo has been the same since launch.
None of the terror events in the game even scaled to difficulty before the release of Winds of Magic. Patch 2.0 is where the problems with Convocation of Decay and a handful of other maps began. You might be able to claim that Convocation’s finale has been in its current state since Patch 2.0 – I don’t know for sure, I think it was toned down at least once – but saying that it has been the same since launch is just wrong.
One of the biggest issues I keep running into when trying to do CoD with bots is that for some reason wave after wave ends up being mixed elite packs with more elites than a legend patrol.
Even when using the drop down to try and get some gap between the chaos warriors and stormvermin, it’s hard to burst down all the elites because of the constant flood. You have to get back to the middle to progress the end event but being down below doesn’t stop the constant flood of elites and specials which will just kill you sooner or later if you’re running with bots or a group of randoms who struggle.
It’s also worth noting the walkup to the end of event can also suffer from some bad RNG which will screw you over. Either having a boss spawn on the drop down where the healing is, or a patrol forcing you to use supplies you’ve gathered for the end event do to the tight space when a horde decides to trigger as well as the patrol walking to your direction.
CoD is a perfectly average map until the last 10% which will either make or break your runs.
