I literally logged in, didn’t see a thunderhammer in the store, logged out, maybe I’ll care enough to look tomorrow.
This all narrows down to: too much RNG, too little player choice/decision making.
Lol…did we not already discuss that playtime does not equal satisfaction? You keep saying the same thing about the OP over and over and over again. At this point you are either trolling the OP and want a reaction so you can fight or you are in dire need of acceptance and approval so you have to make sure everyone sees your opinion.
The best part about your “argument” is that eventually you will also reach 200 hours which by your logic means you are forced to only say good things about the game ever because hours played.
Move on from the silly argument that because someone plays a game for X amount of time they are forced to enjoy every aspect and can only say positive things. The world is not set in absolutes.
It’s not “impossible” unless you can log in and play 100 hours a week.
I’ve got dupes of every weapon for both my lvl 30s. Are any of them “perfect?” No. If you think you can’t use a weapon unless it’s perfect that’s on you. Everyone who says they can’t get any weapons either have a severely bugged client, or you tried 3 times and got pissed off and made these posts.
I agree the system is dumb as hell but y’all exaggerate too much.
what happens if you just que for quickplay damnation?
Hired Gun is fun if you can get it for like 15 €/$ … also same studio.
Initially it will try to find an ongoing match from a previous batch of missions. Failing that, I’m not sure what it does.
You need to get lvl 30 at least to give a real opinion, even if it smells bad at the begin and looks it will be bad at the end. What I mean is that the argument of having played “x” hours so the game is worth it, is not valid at all. Since to arrive to late game where you can enjoy all the posibilities, needs lots of hours because of the duration of maps and reaching maximum lvl.
It’s a trap argument saying it was worth because of price and time spent. People spent that many hours to reach end game, all talents, more perks, all blessings as a challenging dificulty.
Criticism is always valid, regardless of how much the person has played or how much they have researched the game.
If someone says “This game is too shallow for me” and quits you can’t say “You need to play at least 100 hours to understand the depth of it” to invalidate that criticism. The fact that someone came to the conclusion that the game is too shallow to bother putting 100 hours into is a flaw in the game, even if the person would have changed their mind if they stuck around.
Criticism isn’t always correct, but it’s always informative about some flaw in the game. Oftentimes the things people get wrong about your game are some pretty big indicators of where your game fails to communicate its design intentions.
the VT community at large hates fatshark now, they will never gain the support again they had from the people i know, myself included.
Fatshark will pay dearly on the longterm for what they do and did this time.
Speaking of which, the game is now at 58% steam score. That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen it.
It might dip even further once people wisen up and realize Fatshark is not a third world company but based in Sweden where there’s laws and regulations regarding over time during holidays. Thus, the developer is going to take a while to fix the crappy hourly shop, the reroll RNG with the addition of locking another perk, the random map selection, the performance, the crashes, and all the other stuff that is wrong with the game.
Merry Christmas everyone
God Bless,
And about 15% of the positivity is from the beta only and people forgot to change it to negative.
The beta was almost entirely positive, everyone gave them the benefit of the doubt, and nothing changed on release, none of the serious core issues have been solved either, and they can’t even keep the balance straight.
See ya’ll in about 2-4 years, unless they forget to fix the phone game cash shop, then see you in another game. I’m sure someone will take over the genre, AAA companies always jump on the success of smaller companies.
And a lot of the negative reviews are still about performance issues, which got way less or aren´t even a thing for me personally. On top ppl still moan about a pure cosmetic-shop FS already changed after all the cries about it.
Not to mention alot of the V2 players moaning that it´s not V2 or ppl being like “I like the game and i´ll continue to play, but there are things i dislike and the only way to voice myself is a negative review.” like… wtf?! Forum, official website, discord, email??? Ever heard of it?
That crafting is not fully available is a justified reason to leave a negative review. Also if you still have dozens on crashes, but at some point it just might be the hardware?! Who knows…
The rest is mostly
- highly emotional nonsense
- poeple who just want a different game
- poeple who can´t find enjoyment or just need a real endgame which the whole series is missing
And again a lot of poeple fail to see how the armory works and that it´s more playerfriendly than being able to loot RNG based stuff ONLY if you finish a run.
The game is clearly not perfect, it´s decent at best. But the core is there and fully working. And imagine… some players do like what others don´t like. The shitstorm is unneccessary at some point, FS already made and will continue to make changes on feedback anyway.
It’s OK, by the time game loads, there will be a new set of missions.
Congratulations, something that is still a massive problem for many isn’t for you. Who asked?
How quaint, this is a fascinating thing to read. It tickles my brain cortex in a humorous way. Fps benchmarks don’t lie. Just because you personally can’t observe frame fluctuations, doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Speaking of which, provide us some metrics if you’re going to make such extraordinary claims on performance. More specifically, I am interested in seeing your lows and averages charted out. You can download MSI Afterburner for this exercise. It’s quite easy to install and get running.
For example here’s my fps benchmark with my run of the mill setup:
My computer specs are as follows:
- Nvidia Geforce RTX 3060 Ti
- 12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i7-12700KF, 3600 Mhz, 12 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)
- 32 GB RAM
- 453 GB SSD
- Windows 11
First video is me walking around the hub:
Second video is actual gameplay:
I’m getting to the point where I so like the gameplay that I’m cursing everything else bitterly. When, hopefully if, the game fails, however, it will be IMHO primarily due to FS’s decision to release the game in form of faceless generic missions which cannot capture enough people long enough to see how good the actual gameplay is. Items, characters and so-called story are a mess not worthy of a beta release, but obviously a lot of us persevere. FS should have postponed.
BTW, unlike in VT2, where I buy everything out of principle, I cannot imagine myself buying any cosmetic in this game.
Yes, that’s another aspect. The game looks poorly on lower quality settings and non-native resolutions. Gorgeous otherwise, ofc.
I run the game pretty stable on a 1080ti and a 8700k with only 16GB RAM. No need for MSI afterburner or something else if you permanently see the fps on the top right and mention lags anyway.
No issues on a rtx4090 with a 13700kf obviously aswell.
I never said that those issues don´t exist anymore, i just said i´ve none especially since day 2 patch.
Also it could be at some point hardware related aswell. If i hear something like “MSI afterburner” or other 3rd party software being able to overclock or downvolt stuff… i know a bunch of games where the issue lied there, because ppl tried to get 3 more fps.
I´m not saying it have to be the case at yours or others, but i´ve found issues often enough being related on those 3rd party software, missing drivers or even drivers / hardware which doesn´t work properly with a new windows update.
I´ve also seen often issues with self-made PC´s just to safe a bit of money. Or it´s Nvidia, AMD, etc…
Again, i´m not saying it´s the case, but there are dozens of possibilities and if i´ve issues while other with similar speccs can play as intended, then i would check my stuff and try around with the settings etc…
Right now this game is on a similar trajectory as Anthem or Outriders. The gameplay is good, but there isn’t a huge amount of content, so players need to be motivated to repeat the existing content. Unfortunately the loot/progression system is simultaneously kind of shallow without really giving you a lot of interesting options, and so random that you’re extremely unlikely to ever be able to complete your ideal build.
I think the clock is ticking on rebuilding the progression and loot systems into a state that actually motivates people to keep playing. It’s weird to me how many games get this wrong lately.
Make it very easy to get the broad strokes of the character in place, then give people a long progression that increments their power. Way too many games make getting the things that define the character hard, but skip you to the end of the power curve right away.
