Congratulations, your player retention tactics did the opposite

I want metrics. Data. Not your subjective take on the matter.

They could consider introducing a character ‘reincarnation’ function whereby you can reset a level 30 character back to level 1 and level them back up again. Make it repeatable and give some kind of benefit for doing so and I guarantee it would be very popular! Possible mechanics could include having to use a kind of token or item to initiate the reincarnation process, available in the contracts shop for a considerable amount of credits or as a rare random drop in level 4-5 difficulties.

A reincarnated character could gain an additional feat point or some other bonus for going through the process, making it something worth doing. Another added bonus to this would be that low/mid level weapons/curios are suddenly valuable, to be used when re-leveling. Players would no doubt use the consecreting/refining process to upgrade their lower tier items for future reincarnations, rather than stockpiling it all for upgrading the best level 30 items as is the current trend.

50-70fps based on how many stuff is going on on the screen

120fps capped permanently a thing on the rtx4090

This isn´t subjective and i highly doubt it´s going to help you in any way. Also it´s pretty normal in such horde games, especially with such graphics, that the fps can and will go up and down, often relied on shadow / lightning.

Tbf even Outriders and Anthem had way more content and possibilities and still failed due to major-bugs and being overhyped.

In kind of the tide-series there have never been much content, not even progression. Yes you could try around with builds on your red-items, but that´s not for everyone for different reasons.

The loot is there and it´s not different as it is in other games. What poeple obviously miss is the mind-game aka “opening a RNG chest and being either fkd up or super happy”, instead of a 100% safe armory offering items no matter if you won or lost.
Progression is still more a thing than V2 ever had cause we´ve no red items. But of course the progression is more like “playing to get better odds” instead of having a stable and 100% progression-curve going up and up and up…

I can see some flaws of course, but i can also see that the whole series is not made for everyone. The systems aren´t aswell… some players want some static loot and a more or less pre-defined goal, while others want that RNG and a bunch of grind for that last percentage, which keep them engaging with a fun gameplay anyway.

It´s hard to say what is better and what not… but what we can say is that the previous game had and still has similar issues. They playerbase decreased fast if not faster than DT. Complaints like “no endgame, no progression” were real, meanwhile those who where left moaned about no or too less reds etc…

Yet we could question “how good is FS besides the gameplay in their games”, but we could also mention "the game is about the gameplay and if you´re that kind of player which permanently needs to be rewarded or search for a long-time progression only MMORPG´s offer, then you´re just wrong here. "

It´s their 3rd game and while V1 was mostly under the radar of a lot of players, V2 had to fight with similar issues and cryings… it sill have to this day.

And if you asked me, the issue lies in the gameplay and the players head. It´s just a lot of fun and engaging… so hard that everyone wants to play, but way too many want different stuff from games or clearly need to be rewarded too feel good.
It´s the normal statement “the gameplay is great, BUT…”. They expect something the game isn´t meant to be, they expect content that needs time, different poeple want different stuff, who do you want to cater and how? Nobody knows, because it´s impossible. The least are able to play for nothing but fun these days. It´s all about rewards, achievements, feeling good, having green circles etc…

First off, I want a screenshot or video showcasing the performance, this is how an fps benchmark works not by randomly spouting off random integers on a web forum. It should be very easy for you to provide quantifiable metrics for all to see. Second off, of course it helps, it displays if Fatshark is actually improving the performance. Since that’s a big issue for a lot of players out there.

Now are you interested in being less of a pest and actually engaging on the subject that I originally initiated; or are you still planning on inundating me with useless remarks that serve no purpose whatsoever, save for wasting my time.

At the end of the day, I don’t mind repeating content over and over as long as the gameplay itself is fun, and there is some overarching goal I’m working toward.
Sure, it’s not really a productive use of my time, but then when are video games ever a productive use of anyone’s time?

I just want a system where I can steadily work toward a perfect build. I don’t want to be constrained by random rolls and timers, I want to just be able to work toward my goal and get there when I get there. I just want them to give me a journey where I know the distance from point A to point B and how much progress I’ve made.

Nothing is really productive, because… the end is obvious.

I get your point, but others have another view on the stuff and i truly believe that FS took feedback / reviews and whatever from V2 and tried to do different. The mixed the gameplay with more range to offer more possibilities for those who just can´t compete with melee or don´t find it attractive to play.
They changed the “no loot for losers” into something more casual-friendly, even if we miss “crafting weapons” or bad luck protection to get atleast the weapon category we want.
They put in RNG on stats to have more variety or to offer some long term investment / progression for those who play anyway.

TLDR: They clearly try to cater the most players, but missed that a bunch of them need that “rewarding” feeling with that legendary lying on the ground or while opening a chest.

Are there flaws? Yes… but there is also a difference in flaws like “I can´t complete my weekly caused by the random missions.” or just subjective player-made flaws like “But i want static maps!”, while others enjoy the rotations and modifiers for example…

I guess you know what i mean and i clearly respect your point. But i guess it´s hard to find a middleway to cater every type of player. I can´t remember any game doing one or another thing better in any direction. In the current state they should probably go the diablo-way and throw loot on us, meanwhile offering perks while rerolling. Would be the least changes needed and it works.

Ok? Bye then… whatever your problem is.

You had to write an entire essay to justify why you discount a long list of varied issues with the game. That speaks for itself.

Ah, in other words you have nothing of value to contribute to the discussion of ‘performance’ save for discredited whimsical prattle. Your mistake was making an extraordinary claim without any supporting evidence - hurr, durr, it runs fine on my machine. You should have just dropped the pretense altogether. Would have made it easier for me to ignore. Nonetheless have a happy holiday.

I just try to look deeper under the surface instead of crying and trying to nitpick stuff to cater my three sentences.
There´s a lot to take care for and a bunch of poeple still just exeggerate and hate without even thinking about “what it cause”, meanwhile claiming they just want to fall in love with the game etc…

No, you just want to moan, get ride of your feelings and want to get catered and that all by decreasing to longevity and possible popularity of the game.
There are issues, but again way too many, obviously you included, completely exeggerate and can´t even see that the game is running on severs FS have to pay for. So yeah, let´s exeggerate more and even cry about a PURE COSMETIC shop they already changed for the consumer… maybe they should come with a subsystem or every month a DLC. How high are the odds to meet the next ppl doing nothing else but crying?

No, you just blame from the first second and i won´t serve someone being like “You´re a pest, you´ve nothing of value etc…”, while i´ve written down that the performance got already better and crashes way less for a lot of ppl in the first case without even mentioning you. And yeah… that it might be at some point hardware related and not the game at all.

But think whatever you want. Maybe asked more nicely for evidence instead of being… So bye.

This guy makes a lot of good stuff about games in general.
An almost perfect explanation for all the systems darktide have implemented.

Ironically, the thread has devolved into dealing with your raging, while people are trying to list off bullet points of how the game has gone wrong, including video evidence and numbers.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the game! Imagine how much more you’ll love it when we get it fixed!

Bring this discussion back on track to the game instead of attacking each other, else it gets locked.

Yeah, let’s get back to the fact the shop is an absolute waste of time and causes people to just not even bother playing the actual game.

Tbh everyone who´s a bit deeper in game should know how and why stuff changed. And yeah, some devs like riot do even hire some psychoanalyst to force players to stay and buy.

Yet DT has only a cosmetic shop. Of course it sucks that all the cool stuff will be in there meanwhile the game itself is sitting on nothing be recolors. But what do you wanna do?
Mostly if i ask the question, how about a sub? Poeple are like “Oh… no… i´m forced to play then.” But if a game is f2p? Poeple jump in there and mostly spend more money into it per months. Just look at LoL and i don´t know its name, but the game making the most money is some korean or chinese p2w shooter.

It´s not possible to stop this train. It´s the players being like “I don´t want to pay a game for 100 bucks” or “I don´t want to pay a sub”, whatever is needed to keep the studio and especially online-games alive.
I truly hate how it all changed… lootboxes, taking content out of the game to sell it, adding sticker or pendants and call it “rewards”… on top battlepass systems you pay for and in the end don´t even unlock everything because of reasons.

But compared to all this nonsense… this little shop here is a joke. That poeple picked only those big packages instead of being like ok i buy the middle one + a little one for those 2400 aquilas won´t go into my mind, but hey… they changed it and want to change even more.

We could argue endlessly about the if and if… but in the end, we´re here because a lot of players are weak, don´t want to pay much for games, but want everything others have, etc…

It´s sick that a lot of companies abuse it, it really is. But as long as its only about some “normal priced” cosmetics, which helps to keep the game alive for the next decade, srsly who cares?

Also the game RNG has nothing to do with it. This isn´t diablo immortal, you can easily compete with the endgame without waiting a months to have just 1 try for something or by playing the paypig.
Some might be already like “The shop will gonna be…”, but it´s not the case yet, so it´s no need to argue about it.
Just play the game, have fun and if you get the max roll, cool! If you don´t, who cares it´s not needed. Even if we talk about one or another build, once blessing craft is in the game, it´ll do a lot more to a build than having those 10% more damage against X or so. (Might suck for one or another breakpoint, but i doubt it imo.)

There’s no reason to be content with what we have just because it could be worse. The majority of players agree on several major and valid criticisms on either poor/unfinished game systems or shady monetization (the latter of which was addressed to some degree at least). It’s still very valid to criticize being unable to choose missions and difficulties, as well as having more agency in how you progress, the latter of which was actually explicitly promised as a design intent months ago.

Things might be working enough to play the game at the most basic level now, sure, but it’s really not good enough. They absolutely need to address the player agency issues in this game. If somebody can’t play a specific map at a specific difficulty when they want, then that just makes them not want to play (particularly if they have an objective for that specific map). If somebody can’t build an item to fit a specific playstyle they want, then that makes them not want to play. If the weapons don’t feel very impactful, then people leave that experience feeling disappointed rather than encouraged.

People aren’t really complaining about not being able to get max rolls; they’re complaining about how the experience to get there is just not fun or engaging. There’s more to the game than blindly smacking zombies upside the head, and so far every one of those coinciding experiences are leaving a bad taste.

What I’d like is to be able to buy the basic white versions in the shop and atleast be able to use the crafting system to upgrade it. And on top of that, if I want to do a raid let me click raid, difficulty and let whether grims or scrips are in there as rng or something.

I gave my 2c on that subject, and came up with something similar (for the item bit, not the mission select. I imagine advanced mission select will eventually be a thing, bc that was another thing that was hinted at months prior to release).

Yes it all has upside and downsides… it´s definately a flaw that the weeklies doesn´t match the rotation system, but again it keeps things more fresh. Otherwise we would definately mostly see the one or two shortest maps being open by the majority to grind stuff endlessly. Was a thing i V2 aswell, so hard that a lot of players jumped into the death once showing up in skittergate…

Also from a dev-perspective… i´m sure they can easily take out maps / modifiers to fix them if needed with the current system.
But yeah, atleast we should be able to choose out difficulty and tomes / grims should be always available somewhere, not just on the lowest or highest difficulty.

Yes weapon-crafting would do a lot, but the rest isn´t worse than the previous game, it´s even better at some state when we talk about the loot. We´ve also more posibilities to build… and yet still not everyone likes to get that red item to immediately build what they want.
Srsly V2 had also subclasses, but those red items took a lot of playtime away to me personally, meanwhile rerolling them felt more of a waste of time since they´ll be godrolls anyway.

Of course it would be easier to have a reroll-system where you choose 1 out of 2 or 3 perks like in Diablo.

That´s highly opinion-based… i know a lot of ppl who want a grind and don´t care much for breakpoints. They missed a real endgame in V2 already, etc…
There should be a middleway like the examples above.

You nailed it.

I love Vermintide 2, bought a few cosmetics to support the team, I want to love Crashtide, and in a way I do, combat and gameplay feel awesome, the music is great, the Warhammer 40k atmosphere is spot on, everything else is either missing, bugged, lacking, not fun or a massive letdown. Not going to support FS by buying from their cash shop this time.

Some penances, time gated features and absurd weeklies are a pain, crafting is a joke, the grind is not rewarding, player retention tactics were made by a genius, etc. They sure forgot they worked in the entertainment industry. But hey, rejoice, monetization is there, the predatory and manipulative cash shop is fully functional, and the shark gonna be fatter for sure.

I feel like they learned almost nothing from V2, decided to reinvent the wheel, added an even worse version of a cash shop and sold us a buggy, half-finished early access game. That’s a bit too much for my taste.
