Community Comm-link 15th June 2023

I think the comms links are currently on a 3-week cadence (and I haven’t heard anything to the contrary since), so it’ll be July before the next one AFAIK

no one asked for a raise to 360 at brunts people want accessable endgame gear, 360 made entry lvl gear abbundant-ware but top tier gear Access to end lvl gear remained just as unlikely as before

and sure they did a few things ::inline:: of what people wanted but they haven’t solved any issue people have fully, always halfassed, bandaid fixxes, and lets not start about cmmunication, fatshark is in their own category of bad, from tonedeaf announcements and kinda rude replies to from straight up missing their own deadlines

just out of curiosity if per pure chance anyone kept track of it…
how often did they miss their supposedly weekly stream on twitch? didn’t they manage to hit like 2 consecutive streams… with more missing and missing each time, ofc all without notifying why or !that! they won’t come live until the whole concept of weekly streams just faded into obscurity…

even one man indie devs communicate more reliable like how?!

Their streams shifted to every other week a while ago. And even then it alternated between Vermintide and Darktide. So really once a month. But I think it’s been all VT2 tournament stuff lately. No DT stuff for a long time.

i was more talking about when they started streaming, normally thats the point were motivation is at its peak, but they missed the dates probably more than they hit them…

Kinda like The Monkey’s Paw, isn’t it?

Isn’t monkey paw is that you’re get everything you want but also unforseen consequences of getting said everything?

Yep, that’s right! Imagine, for example, a psyker main screaming about nerfing flamer.

Actually JTCLive, @Ralendil , @brosgw, me and many others have either literally asked for this or want this change so I’m not sure what your point is.

This would help massively when it comes to getting end-game gear but, as I’ve said multiple times now, it’s not the biggest factor that would help with that goal, removing the locks would be.

people asked for an increase in brunts amory gear score, in order to make endgame gear more acessable

no one asked for 360 specifically they set the bar just below top tier gear so actual endgame gear is still riddled with nonsensical high rng

and don’t start the debate that 360 is enough obviously, but that’s not the point.

and so did i? why do you randomly start talking about the biggest issue with crafting, i weren’t talking about that at all

the convo was about how FS “fixxes” are always halfassed

Uuuuh… Since when 360 is the min. at Melks? I’ve seen 334’s with tier 4 blessings for sale.
Only change at Brunt’s and Melk is that 300 is minimum base for any weapon you can get there…

As far as I can tell, “how halfassed their fixes are” wasn’t what that was about.

I don’t get where you got the “nobody asked for 360 specifically” when you were the first to mention it in the first place. Why bring this up to then say that “nobody asked for it”? You’re just pointing this out for no apparent reason.

Well people have indeed asked for something similar to this but not in the conversation you brought this up in. I was just genuinely confused where this “point” came from, is all. I got my answer now; thin air, all good, I get it now.

Because it related about as much as the point you brought up in the answer to the message you replied to.

brosgw brought up how FS HAS indeed listened to feedback

and i added that they did but halfassed…

Just to prove Melk sells same junk as always, here are his todays offerings:
Out of 7 weapons only one have base stats above 360.

The Armory is a Gaussian distribution centered around 330. Melk’s is the same but with the bottom half of the distribution cut off.
image
The Armory distribution (post Patch 4). Much larger standard deviation than it used to have; about 23.5 vs 16.25.

image
Your chances of getting “at least” that value on any one single item in the Armory.

image
The distribution in Melk’s. I think I goofed the histogram boxes by one place because that one on the low end is actually 330, the lowest I’ve seen post Patch 4.

image
Again, the probability odds for Melk. Between the two charts it looks like they just folded the Gaussian curve in the middle and overlapped the two halves.

I have no personal data on Brunt’s because that s*** ain’t free like these others, but others have postulated that it is more aggressively centered, perhaps almost as much as the Armory was prior to Patch 4 which looked like this:
image
You can see it is quite a bit more focused in the middle around 330.

From 330 to 350 your odds diminish sharply here. The odds of >=370 are an abysmal 0.35%. Even if it isn’t quite that bad, elevating Brunt’s to a guaranteed 360 would be a massive buff. Brunt’s is supposed to be a bad choice; one that you take when you have no patience for the Armory. Reworking Brunt’s like that would necessitate them reworking their entire shop system and I don’t see them doing that or that really being a productive use of their time.

All they really need is to incorporate some way to remove locks, hell, they can make it grindy since only grinding people really care about min-maxing like that anyway. Whether they go with the diamantine purchase to remove/shift locks, or the blessing collection method, either one presents a reasonable grind and a late-game goal for equipment chasers.

That would have been needed to be done 3 months ago. At this point motivation to grind here over other games has dropped astronomically.

Let’s say it…

If they would remove shops, I would cease to play (normal or Melk’s - btw Melk’ shop has also bad weapons…).
Brunt’s is a pure garbage. You have to spend lot of money to get something that is just… acceptable.
And one thing that you did not considered is the fact that you have more odds to get a T4 blessing with a weapon with a 376+ modifier (totally empiric feeling from my tests… but with all what I have crafted, I am pretty sure of this). Let’s say it, you will waste lot of materials if you rely on Brunt’s armoury.

Odds of the Brunt’s armoury are a… JOKE.
I never use it cause you just burn money and you get nothing worth enough to craft.

Btw, I put again the link to my proposition:

And you’re wasting time camping both the armoury exchange and melks too because the odds are just as bad and they have hard timers. At least you can see what you’re getting, but that’s pretty damning being the only thing they’re good for.

My god this is dire.

If there’s anything to convince me to not install this game until after summer (at the earliest) it’s the knowledge that FS will completely break their own game with poor code when they try to integrate the two platforms and then leave it barely functional before they EffOff on holiday. Adjustments to blessings will turn players weapons into potatoes too. You know… those weapons the players spent a gajillion hours farming mats and human sacrifice to the RNG gods to get…

The huge mistakes in crafting, siloing and progression are costing FS their playerbase and yet they seem hellbent on keeping making the same mistakes.

And posting the same word-salad comms link.

No I don’t know…
I use the PS every days on my Veteran cause it is the most powerful melee weapon…
I use the flamer from time to time with my zealot… and it is yet a strong weapon

Tell me the weapon you have seen turned in potatoe?

Power sword without power cycler, for one. Numbers-wise it’s still ok; mechanically, quality of life and audiovisually it’s pretty bad.
