Ehhhhh…I dunno. It’s like criticizing Necromunda’s style, ya know? It’s the look they think defines their game. Hair cuts that look like they were done with a knife seem to be DT’s style.
Possibly? She was a joy girl on some backwater before the Inquisition found her. Get my drift?

And why should that affect my character’s looks, again? In the grim, dark future of the 40th millennium, only prostitutes look like they weren’t put through a silly photo filter?

If limiting customization this much was part of the plan, perhaps they shouldn’t have made customization such a selling point, then?
People really latch onto this idea that the only reason crime exists is because ugly people exist or are somehow more prone to crime, thats why our ops look the way they do. Its honestly a really weird mindset.
Why would it be reasonable to assume that customization means “exactly what you want.”
That’s a take, I suppose. Especially considering everything you’re comparing the faces in game against are hand drawn art which, let’s be real, doesn’t match reality any more than a video game face does. You want idealized attractive people. They wanted idealized fugly convicts. I know which one I find more endearing, more unique, more interesting and less pedestrian.
And for the record, yes, Looking good in 40k is often a combination of wealth and privilege to get cosmetic surgery and rejuvenant treatments to counteract inbred genes, mutation, environmental pollution and generally harsh conditions that’s endemic to the setting.
Fair, I’ll dial it back a notch. You didn’t go on an image source rampage as others have. Although I kind of have to assume you want something more than we already have, and that to me goes to an idealized level of attractiveness. There’s some fugly faces in DT for sure. There’s plenty that just look like normal people to me as well. Beyond that? I’d say we’re into idealized territory.

What an incredibly selfish comment. “I want ugly characters so everyone has to look ugly because I like it.” I think this applies to most people who share your mindset.
Oh my, so selfish for just…enjoying the game as is. How dare I! What a monster I am to…wait, who is suggesting their preferences should change the entire game for everyone?
You need to do more than just fling more insults. Or at least stop accusing me of doing exactly what you are. It’s not a “good look.”
You are selfish. You dont want people to look how you dont want them to look because it would upset you personally. I think thats an incredibly selfish mindset and you dont like that I called you out on it. Just be honest. This isnt about some moral dilemma or keeping in tone, this is all because you personally want to game to look how you want regardless of what other people want.
We’re advocating for what we’d like. That’s called discussion. I’m sorry that someone disagrees with you upsets you enough to start reading my mind and my intentions, but you put your opinion out there. Deal with it. Or at least have the decorum to not just attack people’s character, poorly.
What we have are several absolutely grotesque looking things that in no way represent the Tabletop minis or the official artwork, and one, maybe two faces that look borderline human.
I mean, seriously, with the majority of faces you would expect a severe gene defect if you encountered them in real life, or a mutant if your Dm described them to you in a pen and paper session.
I’m not advocating anime waifus, just a few more options to distinguish my character from others without having it look like I accidentally hit myself with a thunder hammer.
Im saying we should have more customization so people can look how they want. Youre saying we shouldnt have it because you wouldnt like it. One is about more options, yours is about a selfish desire to keep things the same because you ant to enforce your ideas about how other peoples own characters look.
I’m sorry that someone disagrees with you upsets you enough to start reading my mind and my intentions
Look, I know people like you get into your feelings about this when someone calls you out because now it changes your entire argument and reveals it for what it is. This isnt about artistic integrity, this is about you and your ego.
Ahem…yeah, that’s garden variety 40k. Corrupted gene pools? All day.
I get it. I’m not really there for other people’s faces. I don’t hang out in the Morningstar eyeballing every character. But you know what I do notice? The people that picked the ugliest ones. The rest of the time you’re just looking at the back of people’s heads.
Mmmhmm. I’m sticking to points and arguments. You’re just talking **** to me like you actually know me. I’m not buying your superior position. So just stop.
One is about a released game that is 3/4 done, and players asking for cosmetic crap that takes time to make when we could have new weapons, new characters, new levels and a lot of other things that the game actually needs. Priorities. And yes, respect and integrity.
The other is about a superficial want that yes, isn’t what they were going for and can be broadly interpreted as not keeping with the setting.
Someone tell him theres a cash shop with micro transactions at launch. And doesnt existance of that cash shop prove me right that people want their character to look how they want? They wouldnt have a cosmetic cash shop if people didnt care like you keep telling yourself. Literally the game itself proves you wrong.
Have you seen humans in real life?
Most of the preset faces are pretty hot compared to the humanity that walk around my local supermarket.
I just don’t want to see fromsoftware or oblivion character mutants all over the place even if it would be funny.
