Can we block bullets again please

unfortunately the scoreboard mod doesn’t seem to explain to people that shooting through a melee character to kill what hes swinging at will stop them regening toughness and get them killed.
can we please roll back to the fun days when they couldn’t do it?

I think what the guy means:

Melee player runs toward enemies in order to melee them.
That would generate toughness, which the player expects to get.

Ranged player stands further behind. As usual, target prioritization is 100% wrong and the ranged player shoots through the melee guy in order to kill the targets that he was about to smack.

Now the melee guy gets no toughness.

If ranged guy could not shoot through melee guy, melee guy would have gotten the toughness.
Maybe.
Because maybe the ranged guy would ahve moved a bit and shot the melee targets anyway.

I totally agree with this request

But it won’t stop the worse… The PG player.

@Antilus Flawless summarised the problem. Even worse, if you can’t land a critical hit, you could as zealot not get the 50% bonus TDR and be hurt a lot even by ranged guns.

But, you don’t get to “claim” enemies. They aren’t yours.

I get what you mean, teamwork et al. But you’re suggesting that they prevent people from shooting through allies, so you can bodyblock your kills.

Uh, no.

Holy…
Calm your plasma hate boner.
Plasma users do not tend to spam their gun at trashmobs.

Meanwhile, recon and autogun users actually tend to spam their gun at everything and often never pull out their melee weapon at all.

right, but lets get back on track, are solid projectiles weapons and las going trough players this patch?

Yes. Iirc, they said that all guns can now shoot through players.

the idea of lowering the fun of potentially 3 other people, so that someone can get their melee kills is just insane.

No, they should not remove this quality of life feature they added. The ability to shoot through allies has been a blessing.

What if I’m about to die because the zealots ran off and I can’t get my toughness back, huh?

In auric i totally agree

In regular damnation, they need to learn

i agree with this, and i would add friendly fire aswell, players that gets into our firing line should be punished more

That would be great. I could finally kill every single one of those pesky noobs who play too high difficulty.

Tbf, i do not think that “guy stands in line of fire” is a more common occasion than “guy decides to shoot a target that is about to die anyway”.
Of course, the shooter will think that the other guy is standing in the line of fire either way.

DrG has it, vermintide 1 have it, vermintide 2 have it, why the hell didn’t they do it with darktide as well still bugs me immeasurably, 2 years and this game still feels unfinished

if you kill whats killing him you wind up saving him even if he take a little damage, that is how it usually went back on vermintide

I really think that it would not be a good idea.
Maybe if it is very little.

I have not played VT1, but DrG and VT2 are less chaotic than darktide.
If i recall correctly, you can revive players as often as you want, in DrG, so it does not really matter when you kill an ally.

In VT2, you can not deal permanent damage to a teammate, unless you down them.
And i have seen multiple occasions where people started blasting each other, because they were mad about something.

i just see it as a compromise of their decision of making the game more arcady by letting small arms cleave trough friendlies

the instances that would create more firendly fire would be with flamers, if they balance them like in DrG they would be annoying but still won’t be able to delete your team mates

i hardly ever incour in friendly fire on my hard hitting weapons even if it would be a non issue right now

even Deathwing is an honorable mention, that game has MELEE firendly fire aswell, at start is shocking but then you learn to manage that

I miss friendly fire like you wouldn’t believe.

If the scab sniper can yeet his colleagues into orbit by accident, why shouldn’t I be allowed to?

It’d be a few days of chaos but then all the shoot-into-horde-tards would realize that if they accidently kill their teammates that know how to melee, they also go down right away to their worst enemy: 2-3 poxwalkers. Most would learn to prioritize different targest and we could all be merry.

And occasionally onetapo the annoying smiker or ammo hog PG player for educational purposes.

this reminds me shooting at pox bursters is already a form of friendly fire

Maybe it would be better if the person who commits the friendly fire, would be the one taking damage.
At least after a certain amount of ff dealt.

See it as the emperor smiting the player for committing heretic acts.

Increased poxburster spawns/barrels and the beginning of gloriana are PVP modes.
