What kind of sense would that make? A game developer making functions for it’s game? Don’t be silly, FathShark hasn’t gotten enough money from Tencent, it’s ChiCom Globalist hedgefund.
This mod only shows Steam/Xbox icons. But the Xbox icon can mean both Xbox and PC Gamepass.
Aren’t you a karking ray of sunshine… geez. Mind letting me know your steam ID?
I’d like to add you to my personal, curated and celebrated list of awesome people.
Thanks! I’m looking forward to not seeing your inane vitriol ever again ![]()
You’re welcome! Wish granted!
I don’t buy this.
We all have, so?
Not singling you out for this, but while this is true occasionally and anecdotally, the numbers are skewed unfavorably towards the console players, by a lot.
An 80/20 split is being generous. People have seen albino pet rats too, but they make up 1-2%.
Usually, the PC/GamePass players are significantly better than the consolers for a same level, just like usually the higher the level the better the player. We’ve all seen exceptions to the rule ofc but it’s like 10% of the time, or 20% again if being generous.
You can usually tell who’s using what by the way they move and aim.
Most of the PC GamePass players have been around longer, the consoelers are typically lev 50-70 now, and they usually don’t ping or type.
I’ll take that bet.
You might have missed the dude who was SO convinced that controllers weren’t the issue that he posted a video of him playing at a sub-par level skill and obvious controller slothfulness both, regular damn map. This was before this last update.
He also posted what seemed like 100 posts trying to convince people it was “good”, it wasn’t and people weren’t buying it.
He then went to Reddit to try to do the same with the same video and flipped his lid as there’s less moderation there, but again people looked at his video but people were even less impressed there.
The point is he was SO convinced that his controller play was actually good that he posted a video demonstrating how bad it really was.
I’d love to see a same video from that dude POST homicidal director update on Auric.
TLDR: Controllers are not a non-issue.
Pre-AI-Director update you can button mash in regular damnation and get carried in aurics, now…not so much.
P.S. Hel I’d go as far saying that damnation Aurics should to be available to consoles OR AT LEAST allow a toggle blocking them on that mode.
So, I’m by no means a master, and I won’t try to convince people to change their minds here. I’m an Xbox player. I main Shield Ogryn, and as I said, I boosted my sensitivity up, because as a tank, I need to be able to see a sniper laser, and turn around fast enough to block the shot and protect my team. But I’ll ask you guys, the same thing I ask anyone I’m in a group with after the match. Aside from blessings, aside from talents, aside from all that, what should I do to be a better teammate? One that would make pc players … I guess “tolerate” me?

I think you’re on the wrong forum, mate. Looks like something with a 4-leaf-clover for a logo would be more suitable for you right now. It’s OK, though - once you grow up you’ll learn that being an edgy a-hole online is not as bad-ass as you think.
As in, you don’t believe I’ve seen bad PC players, or you think that only console players can be bad to begind with? Because let me tell you, I just hopped off a T5 where 2 Steam guys were trying really hard to kill ALL of the endless horde in finale ![]()
Whenever I see this I have to wonder: where do those numbers come from? As opposed to the “anecdotal” ones?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a PC gamer myself and there’s no denying that KBM is superior for FPS (I even tested this with some buddies once). But it’s not a PvP shooter, and while I agree that it is easier to play well on a KBM than controller, making a blanket statement about the entire console/controller population as if you had some hard facts to back it up is a bit much.
Based on far too many hours of gaming, and not just this game and not just since the last big update.
First of all, don’t worry overmuch about people who seriously subscribe to the “PC gamer master race” thing - they are beyond saving, and beyond pleasing.
As for being the better teammate, exactly the same rules apply to everyone: learn the mechanics, understand them, use them to your advantage. Learn positioning. Learn the general flow of the game and act accordingly. It’s really not rocket science, just pull your weight in the game. Move to a higher difficulty only once you’re doing OK on the previous one. Just common sense stuff.
Frankly just being a person that bothers to ask how to be a better player already puts you in a better position than what I feel like is the majority of DT player base. PC included. Have fun!
So anecdotal evidence, at least as far as “console/controller players are all bad” statement is concerned. Cool to have an opinion, not cool to push it as a fact.
I mean, what are you trying to do here? Because it sounds like you just want to put a huge group of people down in order to… well that’s the question, achieve what, exactly?
Oh the irony of “anecdotal” isn’t lost on me, but after MANY, MANY hours the anecdoteS becomes hard data.
I’m not trying to put them down, but JUST now left a game with another xboxer ~lev 50~, guess how it went? I got the “xbox” bingo card filled in real fast.
Bad controllers, narrow FoVs etc. etc. etc., it’s all been listed before, it almost never goes well.
I’d gladly skip the few that do go “well” to eliminate the vast majority that don’t
So, if you don’t mind, I’d like to ask your advice on something then. Maybe this is a stupid question, but I’m curious. How do I know what the best melee combo to use is, on what target? Like I know from testing that heavy, light, light works great for crushers and elites with the Krourk 4 dagger. But what’s a good elite combo for power mace, and one for shield?
It’s complicated.
For lots of people it’s just a meme.
Others feel that console controllers can’t compete with kb+m without a level of artificial assistance that borders on cheating.
Others feel that designing games for console and PC means the PC version gets dumbed down, either because of the disparity in hardware performance, input method, or both.
My personal experience is that wherever there’s crossplay, the KB+M players tend to dominate and console/controller users tend to filter themselves out by disabling crossplay or staying in easier modes of the game. There’s outliers who can compete at the higher levels for sure, but they’re definitely outliers. The average controller user is very easy to spot.
Oh nice Ty man. I’m gonna check this out now.
Let’s be fair, with how finicky all tide games play, I am surpised Fatshark even went ahead and released each for console.
It’s like handing your guests a giant bowl of chicken soup and then giving everyone forks to eat. Utter insanity.
Another HiSTG, 1 guess as to who the xbox was:
Oh and this was with 2 shouty vets constantly ulting.
It was essentially a 3 man HiSTG, and a good player got tossed under the floor/map by a chaos spawn so it was a 2 man for a few minutes.
The game was easier when the xboxer was dead as there was much more ammo to go around, clearer firing lanes and not having to try to revive him every couple of minutes.
If we didn’t have 3 very good players it would have been a wipe many times over.
Sure you can say “anecdote”, but this happens all the karkin’ time, 80% is a generous estimate, 90% would be more accurate. It happens 2-3x more since the AI director became sentient and decided to kill all humans, not to mention all the broken stuff piling up.
LOL This is going in the scrapbook.
