Hmm, going to practice the block canceling thing tonight. I’d heard about it, but never tried it. I guess sense I’ve gotten my footwork and placement/ cover stuff down, it’s time to work on something new and try that out.
Nice, it’s a good skill to learn and get comfortable with!
Stick to things like shield ogryn w/ kickback/rumbler and not anything that requires super fine aim and target prioritization of stacked specials and disablers.
Know not only your limitations but the limitations of the controller and FS’s support for it and try to work around those.
Don’t jump into the hardest missions assuming it will be easy and expect some level of carry, and only progress when you’re comfortable at pulling your own weight.
I’d be willing to bet a solid sum of money i can outperform you with a gun psyker against your… what is it? Thunderhammer zealot? Jesus christ it wouldn’t even be a fair fight for you. Your divorce from reality is kind of enjoyable to read though, never seen anyone that out there before.
This guy is either straight up troll or just really bad himself. I mean, in the other thread he basically confirmed that he dosen’t know a difference between unarmored and maniacs. And flak and carapace.
do me a favor and shoot that special through a horde will ya ?
then quickly turn around to check if we being flanked then back
thx
Ew. Toxic, @PapaJoe
go into social - previous mission - block
“I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
Can only opt out on console level. There is no in-game option.
Also, people with an Xbox symbol now comprise far more than half of the people playing this game. As a result, it is impossible for them to be “below average” as you describe. Please upgrade your assessment to “average at best.”
One more thing I can’t quite put together. Ran a poll earlier and discovered they more then half of the people in these forums are usually running solo damnation aurics. Why don’t you just click up and stop solo matchmaking until the game is off of game pass? I understand you don’t think you should have to, but the game was on deaths door with 1500 hardcores a few months ago and now Fatshark is getting paid.
Also, the controller defaults are a straight up handicap. The amount of tweaking and refinement needed to keep up with damnation pc players is extreme, like top 10% of controller players with non-standard controllers extreme.
Can you please point me to the source of that statistic?
Pretty sure it’s a factual joke hence the whole “average at best” part.
Looking at steam numbers, the game was dead. Looking at the raw number of complaint threads exactly like this, I’m betting more than half.
How do you define “a dead game”? Because for me trought the entire year i’ve had no issues with finding pub party to play with and game search was always pretty quick with <15 seconds. If that is a dead game, then…
Ugh, I don’t jump into a session hoping for a carry. I’ve had enough of people joining a heresy high intensity at level 15-20 to know how crappy it feels to have to throw someone in your backpack to carry them.
Shield ogryn and kickback/grenade gauntlet are fun. But power mace and krourk 4 dagger are what I switch to when I’m bored tanking.
You’ve got a point there.
People these days call all manner of games dead.
I’ve seen people call Dota 2 and Counter Strike dead in the Steam forums. Games that actually have millions of players. Ridiculous.
Holy Moly this thread has gone toxic. So many coffee beans rustled.
I don’t think it went toxic. I learned block canceling and good melee combos from it. Just gotta find the good in it I guess lol.
I wasn’t trying to single you out specifically, blame EN for not having yous.
Based on my experience, the consolers are seriously over-represented in the “carry me” category on Damn Aurics, inexplicably even more on Maelstroms; I can’t quite make sense of it.
The MK 4 Cleaver is in a pretty good place but its anti armor combo requires weakpoint precision, if you can’t pull it off at will and consistently due to auto-aim consider using more sweeping weapons on consoles if you’re jumping into the hardest content.
The power maul was left behind too in the latest updates, it may leave you lacking on Damnation, so keep that in mind along with the previous paragraph.
I consider 1500 steam users dead. If you run into the same people while randoming it’s a very bad sign. I went back and looked and this game is actually a bit unusual. Never dropped below 2300, but it never really had that many players peak anyway considering how good it is.
With users dropping down that low, they will never get a reasonable return for developing their dlc. Many companies have folded after 2 or 3 of these releases, but Fatshark pivoted and resurrected the game. Generally the only thing that does this is a transition out of beta, but they managed it even if you consider steam users alone. They are also now getting a ton of cash monthly from Microsoft.
I bet the daily concurrent users are 10x what they were. They pretty much pulled off a miracle, especially when you consider the issues the game still has. Look at the crafting memorial thread. They aren’t some behemoth of a studio that can afford to just pretend they are great while living off of the fat of a game they released 10 years ago they keep rereleasing in “all new HD”.
The real point is that disabling cross play would put you into a pool so small you should
probably just get ahead of it and spend the time making about a dozen friends and playing with them. There is a reason disabling cross play is not even an option in many, many games: it’s about as useful as going into a nearby closet to make new friends. Why do you think these developers and publishers spent over a decade working on the technology to do it?
Lot of people feel entitled to great teams through random matchmaking, but you need the option to literally be pooled with as many as two dozen other steam players.
You DO know GamePass users can disable crossplay , right?
It’s not one that I’d have picked to be super-playable with a controller, no.
