well good because the game is in a bad state. Just had a major server side hiccup where every monster freezes for 10s like back when it used to crash the game. The game recovered thankfully but I was downed.
Purg staff was also not working last game. LMB wouldn’t hold down so RMB+LMB was useless Had to reboot.
The only thing ive been able to do is only play damnation with no modifiers and even then its far from perfect. Its the only way I can almost guarantee not crashing but i still see others crash and deal with constant lag and fps drops. Only some games are decent but its better than not being able to play at all but just barely lol.
no fs has earned the comparison to predatory practices there is no difference mechanically and its already called a casino by many so the rng needs to go.
Steam nvidia 2080 ti, I crash within 1 minute of being in a match or psykhanium due to “nondescript gpu hang”. Game has been literally unplayable since secrets of the machine god. Before that I crashed maybe once every 4 matches, never in psykhanium.
She’s the GOAT, for real. A beacon of light in the grim dark future where there is only patch notes.
Yes, absolutely. I think a pretty significant portion of the playerbase would, in a heartbeat, trade “fewer major updates” for “significantly more proper hotfixes”. People want a functional game first, and an expanding game second.
…Then don’t play the game? Or would you rather they told steam/xbox/playstation to pull it off their stores in the geolocation that you live in because your country believes that it’s people will fall into the degeneracy of gambling in a video game without spending any of their own money.
Well I’m not going to argue, but mechanically is fine so long as it’s in game currency. You can choose to play the game more or not. But loot boxes and gacha are a whole different animal, and the comparison is just not realistic.
There are plenty of aspects of the game that I disagree with. But I also recognize that I haven’t been charged for any of these updates either. One of the reasons I don’t have an issue with the cosmetic prices.
Frustration is understandable, but it’s an unfair accusation of the developers.
This isn’t a loot box or gacha game - I mean I remember running loot circles for hours in Borderlands 1 and 2.
It’s frustrating, but that’s part of the thrill tbh in loot shooters. You don’t know what you’re going to get. But your only investment is hours of gameplay that…turns out to make your character better because you played the game.
played the first map at the local mall, bought it thinking it to be similar to turtles in time and 30 years later i still hate that speederbike level with a passion
and it didnt get better, after that platformer with moving snakes and floating spikey thingies.
While I agree that their comparison to gacha is disingenuous since no real money is changing hands there, I would also say comparing this to Borderlands is unfair too.
In Borderlands I can clear out a single area in like 10 mins or less and I am absolutely flooded with loot, both good and bad. And the loot can be drastically different. Like being a Tediore that doesn’t just explode when thrown, but actually bounces around the room until locking onto your target while firing shotgun blasts at it until the collision happens. Or a gun with a front facing shield that reflects bullets back at enemies.
Here I spend 20-40 mins to get 1 piece of gear plus enough currency to get some gear that just determines whether it takes 3 shots to kill that rager or 2.
Not to say I prefer one of these systems over the other, just saying the games are considerably different in their design approach.
I still don’t know why they tacked on a loot system in the Tide series when this type of gameplay just doesn’t incentivize/synergize with it.
