It’s that time of year again. Hotfix #57 earlier this week was our last Hotfix for this year.
By the end of next week, a majority of Fatshark employees will be taking time off for the end of the year holidays and to spend time with their families.
Employees will begin to return in January. For January, we’ll have an event going live mid-January and our next Hotfix will be at the end of January. We also have a dev blog from Jesper Kyd and a dev blog on Enemy Art Design for everyone.
We wanted to say thank you to all the players for the support this year. 2024 has held a lot of good things for Darktide. We welcomed all the new PS5 players to the community, and with the help of crossplay, were able to expand the Darktide community even more. We also introduced our new recurring events, the long awaited Itemization update went live; a new game mode which we’ll continue honing with our community, new weapons, new maps, and more.
But we’re not done. 2025 will be even better. We have four main updates planned next year, which includes new maps, new weapons, further improvements for Havoc, and much, much more.
We’ll have more information to share after the New Year about our plans for 2025. We hope to see you all there, too.
Happy holidays, everyone, and have a wonderful New Year’s.
This was an excellent year for Darktide and I’m so glad more of my friends chose to hop in. This last update has been loads of fun and I look forward to the new weapons next year.
At least there won’t be any false hope or so about getting the disconnects fixed till February. Which is a good move on the communication front. I guess.
I won’t say anything about ‘earning’ a break because let’s be real, all employees everywhere deserve that kind of vacation time.
But I will say this: Fatshark has improved Darktide considerably this year.
I hope 2025 brings new content rather than just rehashing systems that shouldn’t have been implemented in the state they launched in. I hope that story progression actually gets addressed. I hope they learn to release teasers in time for the actual event rather than a week or two after it.
Certainly the work this year has been excellent by the team and many deserve a holiday.
But I will be toxic and still can not understand why Havoc will remain unchanged, and just abandoned for a month, and in my opinion by the return of the team Havoc will no longer be of interest to anyone…
And there’s a lot to clean up and a lot of issues to deal with.
And I really want to see a normal mode next year: Wastelands of Chaos
The game crashes half the time on Xbox. You all know this, it’s repeatedly told to you. The problem has only been ignored. How can you congratulate yourself for making a product that doesn’t work?
