Audio bugs. fix them

Not sure what’s going on but since the ganger update the audio bugs have been ridiculous. Way more ridiculous than usual.

I’m absolutely raging right now. I’ve just had 4 auric missions fail in a row (yep auric being a cakewalk these days) and all due to f***ING audio bugs. Driving me insane!!!

Just now got shot by a sniper without the warm-up noise at all. The screen wasn’t even that hectic but no warning, no noise, no glint, nothing. Then just shot. As a ganger that’s basically game over.

That’s happened to me a lot recently. Same with dogs pouncing, netters shooting, silent maulers axing, silent crushers swinging, silent bursters until their mid leap. There is no warning. If there is no warning then there IS NO COUNTER PLAY.

It is a sucker punch. And getting sucker punched mission after mission after mission is goddamn infuriating!!!

Nothing makes me want to play something else more than getting sucker punched in this game. So I think I’ll do just that. Screw this.

These audio bugs are too much. As the other classes there is at least a chance of survival but as a fragile ganger its too much.

Sorry very ranty post but I’m so angry at this right now. It feels 500% worse since ganger release.

5 GOOOOLDEN RIIINGS, 4 tox bombers gassing, 3 barrels bursting, 2 karnak twins and a daemonhost in a pear tree

It does seem like I get nailed by some kind of silent enemy at least once per game now. It didn’t seem to happen as much before. Usually a crusher, mauler, trapper, or burster.

Yeah that’s how I feel.

Of course there have been audio woes forever but since ganger release it seems worse. It’s now really ruining my game.

Perhaps it’s a knock on from the broken spawns…too many enemies means the audio isn’t playing…who knows.

yeah, got bonked yesterday by not 1 but 3 completely silent crushers that spawned out of the empty tracks in logistratum right in my back. not one sound until a loud thud.

well, completely silent bursters straight from around the corner are a new one for me for sure.

when I thought I’ve seen and (not) heard anything.

now corner peaking is advised for the time be :open_mouth:

Fatshark for some reason decided to make the sniper audio cue strictly worse with the Bound By Duty update. Genuinely baffling decision too, I can’t think of a reason for it and for why they still haven’t fixed it. The sniper audio cue would legitimately be one of the easiest fixes in the entire game, and I mean it.

What was the change specifically? It’s a change that’s been around before the ganger launch?

Things seem to have gotten really bad recently IMO

The sniper audio cue is now affected by the rest of the soundscape and the distance to the player. Before the update the audio cue was always easily audible in the rest of the soundscape.

Audio problems with other specials & ranged enemies feel like they’ve only been getting worse especially with the plasma gunner but I’ve less hard evidence to make that case so I can only say it feels that way.

before bursters seem to have had the “priority” in terms of only their sound left when none else was played.

in a sense I could still work with that, the conga line being the most severe threat after all.

since today (didn’t play straight after the latest update) even them sounded like dead space… space parts. silent or very muted distant thuds at best.

so imagine my surprise at the poxburster peekaboo coming straight around the corner :grimacing:

What is interesting it becomes server to per client basis.

Me and 1 other team mate could hear pox b coming right around corner. The other 2 players said they didn’t hear anything. All in coherency at the time.

It means sound cues can play for one player but not another player right next to them.

so fatshark aint even messing stuff up for all equally?

that’s a new one

Sanity check - are the nurgle

Dogs sound queue bugged as I was just downed 3 times in a mission. Haven’t been pinned in ages by them🙈. Though it is possible it’s a skill issue as always

Yeah I am experiencing a lot of it, dogs included. No warning sound, just pounced from silence.

Ayup.

I love not hearing a trapper, because of the pointless objective related yapping by off-screen NPCs. I love hearing hounds when they are a feet away from my face, because game designers responsible for audio cues, and audio engineers at Fatshark have been asleep since 2022.

Sort out your priorities. Gameplay >>>> pointless VFX and SFX overload.

Audio bugs become a problem since aurics iirc. At this point i don’t think audio is fixable, sound engine probably can’t handle such ammount on enemies.

Either way them not fixing auido bugs for years just because is a bit kek situation.

They need to update the priorities of audio then. Warnings always need to be at the very top, over all else. Something else can get muted.

“Merry Christmas everyone, we’re going on a winter break now!”

Is what you’ll get in response.

Seriously, how can you see all of these issues being in the game for years that just add to the pile of problems and keep to Forums only? They won’t listen to this feedback. It’s not game-breaking, so they don’t bother worrying about fixing it at all.

So if they make it clear that they don’t care if it won’t directly hurt the numbers of the game or break it, why not try to let it known in a negative review? It doesn’t even have to be a coordinated effort like review bombing. Anytime there’s an issue, either add it to your existing review or make a new one where you talk about it. A simple act, and it increases the chance that FatShark will actually care and do something.

The Forums just don’t cut it anymore. If you want to let your frustrations be acknowledged and not just heard, you got to take it to Steam.
