There’s a huge difference between running an actual cheat through an executable that gives unfair advantages and using mods that simply improve quality of life.

i use many QoL mods, and tbh i would not play darktide without them. the modding scene is something essential, but it’s tarnished by a few people. how is one supposed to learn the game when it pings enemies, block-cancels, quells peril on a simple press, so every dork can go BBB mom watch me play?

I wasn’t a fan of spidey sense mod or the one that tracks and displays special count. I wouldn’t use it but didn’t really care if others did.

I use plenty of mods myself. Some, like danger zone, others consider cheating and I understand why.

Yet this right here is disgusting. I rather have mods disabled for everyone than have something like this available.

Now is the time for FS to incorporate UI, information and QoL mods and just turn off modding entirely.

No, disabling all mods, because of 2 - 3 really cheaty ones is not the way to go.

Regarding incoroprating the “good” mods & disabling the rest.
And who is going to tell FS which mods are UI, Info and QoL and which are “cheaty”.
Who is going to be the judge?

I suppose the old hilariously broken first attack mod wasn’t automating insane and unintended mechanics abuse, it was “personal expression of gameplay preference” or some similar extreme cope.

Look man I absolutely agree with that statement. But with every abuse of Fatshark’s modding policy that is released, I stray further and further from this belief and more towards “we’re not allowed to have nice things, burn it all to the ground”.

Just warning you, I think a lot of people are in a similar position, and if this decline continues I can see a future where removing mod support entirely is a popular viewpoint, especially when you consider the console players who don’t even have the option to join in on the cheating.

So the way I see it, the community, big mod defenders included, need to very aggressively push out modders that try to create mods like this. It will increasingly be pure poison to the Darktide modding scene otherwise. I genuinely think it could even be the death knell for it.
