280 hours to get a single perfect 380 modifier weapon

Becasue if game offers gear with random stats and other random properties then people want to be able to obtain ones that have best in all slots. Why? Becasue it exists, it’s in the game. If it’s in game, people want to play with it, experiment with it, see how it feels, have fun with them. Same if you make game where you have combinations of perks/blessings etc. people want to experiement with them, freely reroll them to try new stuff etc.

We want to be able to have perfect weapons in reasonable time becasue it’s in game as part of it and we want to play with them. It’s simple as that. If you make gear near impossible to aquire: why even bother putting it in game, no?

Just don’t make random stat gear and nobody would care.

And that is without even adding the fact game doesn’t reward you for your gameplay, skill or time.

It’s a bad system, for sure. Incomplete, but transparently a bad system.

The most obvious problem is players can’t set goals or progress, since there’s no starting point. You can’t break down items and slowly upgrade a weapon you’ve had the whole game, because all starting weapons are fodder. You can’t upgrade modifiers, so anything that isn’t perfect is fodder.

Basically, to even start using the system and involve yourself in the upgrade loop, you have to win the shop lottery. And that doesn’t even guarantee it’s a weapon you even like.

It’s a very, very bad system.

I’m at 300 hours and haven’t come across a single 380 item even across 4 characters. RNG is too RNG and I hate it because I can’t do anything that can give me better odds.

Yes, it does. There are countless examples you can find. Right now I would say not being able to reroll BOTH perks is a huge detriment, as many will miss a critical breakpoint with even +20 instead of +25% damage. There are simply so many opportunities for your weapon in question to go wrong.

You have it reversed, if there wasn’t so much built around these mechanics it would not be aggravating that they are unavaliable. Just a Voidstrike missing 400 damage (some 70% damage) is unusable, since it won’t one hit kill scab shooters with a full charge hit on Damnation, 3 to kill a bomber etc.

Hello,

There is alot of good ideas and solid VT1+2 playerbase gold in this thread. I can only hope Fatshark starts listening to their playerbase instead of some other profit-minded ‘inputs’ that, I believe, has delivered a far cry from Vermintide greatness.

Thanks,
Gunship

There is no such thing as a perfect 380 :

i’m beginning to think it is this way intentionally, because it is so bad I can’t just imagine it happened by mistake, and its relatively simple things to fix the problem fast.

  1. sell perfect items with selectable stats
  2. salvage weapons for crafting mats
  3. increase crafting mats in maps and balance the costs of upgrades or allow mats to be transmuted to other mats.
  4. release all the crafting they have already.

I’m just one guy with a few minutes and I have this list of quality-of-life changes and I am supposed to think an entire company has no ideas, no plan, and didn’t know it was a problem?

Not to mention this happened in v2 at launch as well and wasn’t fixed for almost a year.

Something else is going on, I just can’t imagine what, but none of this makes sense.

your mistake, you didnt check shop while you sleep.

It does seem pretty absurd that they could be incompetent enough to launch systems that are so obviously bad.

Then again, for months and months they were internally on a different dev branch than released to players in VT2 and had no idea, and couldn’t understand how players reported problems they themselves didn’t have…

So anything is possible when it comes to Big-Boned Fish.

It actually does help you get breakpoints lol.

There is a huge difference between %50 stopping power and %70 stopping power for example.

Please don’t. Both of you.

id rather spend money than wait 1 year to get the game I wanted.

Very well-thought counter argument you have here, but a level of argument always matches a level of debater.

Yeah i felt that at first aswell, but Melk´S Shop iMO now, is that it will get you started and there you can buy Blessing at least T3

This one i bought at Sire Melk last Week.
Perfekt Perks, iMO (Carapace instead of Unyielding would have benn nice aswell) but i think that is where the Ripper shines. I worry more about Rager maniacs and Muties than Ogryn Enemies. But who knows what Unyielding we weill see in the Future.

ALso have a Shield with 376 from that Shop. I was very fortunate, but still its good for getting decent Blessings you can Combine later aswell to amke it T4. I totally understand you and feel the same way aswell.

It’s still super RNG, you just got lucky. I have yet to see a weapon from Melk with more than 355 base, nor have I ever seen a weapon type suitable to the class I am on at the time.

Means nothing, you got lucky, it’s just lottery ticket. You can’t even say in this game you worked hard for anything as it’s just RNG.

Yes i worked hard, nearly 400hrs…
If that doesnt mean anything what does exactly in our opinion?!
You want free Loot?
On T5 you want 2 or 3 items max Stats 100% every time and that should mean something then?
But i bet you are one that whined about V2 Loot aswell and now you whine here aswell, and in the next Game and so on.
You just here to rant and whine?
Cannot give me a normal Answer? Im not your Enemy Buddy but your comment was definetly suggesting something :joy:

If you cant take it, then delete the Game, wait half a year or more until its better.
I just gave you my opinion about Sire melks which is Obvioulsy what its there for

You are all fixed o only 380. Yes i want them aswell its just and fair, but until then Blessings are more importnat even on lower Statsa makes the Gun Good.

Btw i have several 380 just from checking the shop now and then when playing. Im not camping shop or logg in every hour and that crap. if i get Lucky i get lucky… FOR NOW

PS: Just run Games for materials and not for 380 Weapons and 80 Curios. There you can make a diference every Game and you will need em Later anyway.
I Focus on Weeklys and Mats. Check the Shop and buy good perks i will use later or amybe some 380 if i come across. Thats all you can do for now. Maybe enjoy the nice Soundtrack and gameplay?!

You totally ignored the point I was making or you just can’t understand it because of your lack of logical thinking. I will give you better example, simple so you can understand: I had 270h in Darktide and not even one weapon near perfect roll, not to even mention perks. He’ll i couldn’t even get the weapon I wanted the most to play with with high stats and good perks/blessings. I pretty much only played and clear Damnation. My wife who is more casual had 60h In game running mostly malice. She has two near perfect weapons for her psyker that she wanted to use. Both of us stopped playing for same reason and none of us think this is good design or fair gear progression. Now take want you want from it. But don’t tell me you worked hard on your gear because your playtime means nothing. All you did was participate in lottery like eveyone.
