280 hours to get a single perfect 380 modifier weapon

Supposedly its been datamined that we are getting ability to reset shop 3 times per reset so i guess that is something.

Crafting material will still remain limited so even if you might get some decent rolled items from shop you still need to farm good amount of games and pray for rng gods.

I’m already struggling with crafting mats without rerolling the shop. They really need to up our method of gaining those, or reduce the amount of mats it requires to mod wargear.

Why? The difficulty should always mean more rewards. It wasn’t issue in Cata in V2. If you got someone who was just super bad you just kicked him out or they usually were leaving after second death.

Besides people should be incentivize to play higher difficulties as only then they will learn. If you don’t like to handle randoms who are still learning their ways on highest difficulties: just make pre-made team or private lobby with one friend.

I did couple duo Damnation and so it’s not big deal if I get some bad randoms, they will learn or leave. At worst I can kick them.

That won’t change anything + Vermintide has, at least for me, always been a game about overcoming difficulty… never a looter, loot was just a byproduct and you knew that eventually you would be able to actually get a build you wanted instead of “oh well I use whatever is the least garbage from all the hot garbage that RNG gave me”.

If they wanted to make a looter game, they should’ve looked at literally any other looter on the market and realize that in those games, people are getting 100x more loot per hour than in Darktide… 1 item per map, maybe, only if you win and you better check the shop once every hour boi is not how RNG based looter games work.

They are either incompetent or they have that one guy in charge who never played a videogame in his life but has a VISION or this is just their way of artificially increasing playtime during this, realistically, early access… not sure which is worse though.

Well i did not say that it will suddenly make the games loot magically better, i just see it as a bandaid until something better can be created (probably, hopefully, who knows).
Honestly after the vermintide 2 train who knows when.

Yeah then we have those like my buddy who are sitting at something like 5k diamantite and 0 plasteel :unamused:
It needs some pretty hefty changes.

It didn’t matter in VT 2 because Cata didn’t give better loot chests than Legendary.

But Cata was added later as extra. Legend was highest for long time and it did get way higher chances of getting emeperor with grim+tomes runs which led to way faster aquisition of red rarity gear, which also led to getting red dust, which led to crafting red you wanted.

Damnation is currently the highest and it’s easier than Cata in V2, just more frustrating due to range enemies aimbots (beastman archers at release anyone?) and broken stuff like dogs, broken suppression mechanic (stagger mechanic broken for year in V2 anyone?) etc. But it’s not really as big as it was jumping from Legend to Cata for first time. And everybody gets free Gromil armor on 100% toughness.

So in future I 100% think we will get 6th difficulty as Damnation was already not that hard after Heresy.

But anyway, Cata didn’t maybe give better rewards than Legend but still was giving best rewards with Legend. Something Darktide has NONE. No reward for playing Heresy/Damnation apart from I guess being able to see shop reroll faster… yay.

I have to disagree, meaningful builds can be achieved easily with 350+ weapons.

We need a crafting system to adjust blessings, that’s what actually takes the most hours of grind off.

OCD much? You’re missing the forest for the trees.

Everything Fatshark/Tencent has done with Darktide has communicated that Vermintide 2 veterans are not the target audience for this game.

Of course it won’t be soon. First the game will die becasue of lack of content and extensive RNG. Just like V2 did after first few weeks/months. Then we will see a lot of changes and additions and system reworks in future.

Deja vu.

Maybe. Nothing will surprise me anymore in “modern gaming” industry. Clown fiesta.

I hope Fat Shark understands that changing builds and trying gear is in itself enough to keep people playing.

If I could snap my fingers and have all perfect gear, I wouldn’t play less.

I would play more, all the people I know who play for thousands of hours in vermintide, had enough good gear and didnt play for gear, they played because the combat mechanics and cata/twtich/modded difficulty was fun.

I don’t think they ever really understood their own game and what exact parts people loved in it. Considering the design decisions of FS in Darktide I am sure they have absolutely no idea why Vermintide 2 was as “big” (compare to what they thought when they released it) of success as it was. They threw away some of best parts of V2 and made some of worst parts worse. Totally mind boggling.

Exactly the same as VT1 → VT2. Well maybe not exactly the same, VT2 did give us a lot of content at launch.

Yeah, it’s mind blowing how Fatshark learns absolutly nothing from their own games and game development experience.

Not to mention, half of their QoL work was done by modders in V2 since full studio couldn’t do what modders did in few weeks…

Pathethic.

They must have different end goals than “building a game people like to play” or something similar to that.

There is always a reason for what companies do, it is just not always obvious, and may not even make sense to people with different values or goals.

It’s becasue 90% of upper management in gaming companies now and suits that make decision are not gamers. They don’t even play games, they don’t understand games. Simillar to how many failures/activists today try to make movies/TV series/write scripts etc. and fail hard casue you have no base understanding of what makes them good. You just try to push out product, thinking people will eat it becasue you checked out “list of bulletpoints” from spreadsheet made by another guy who finished Marketing course…

Nowdays those people are making product for customers.

Not anymore game for gamers.

And so their decisions are dictated by excel spreadsheet, not by passion for gaming.

Maybe it’s not even a spread sheet/cash grab, maybe they have some ulterior or duplicitous motivation.

For example, Facebook is there to mine data and is addictive to make people better data cows.

It does feel like in the past art/games/media was successful because it was well made, and now everything is just regurgitated remade poorly and mass produced, they must be getting something they want out of it.

lotr to the hobbit to rings of power is a good example, kind of like how the biggest most amazing pyramids are the oldest.

Why would this matter that you got a “perfect” stats on a weapon? Does this allow you to reach damage breakpoints otherwise you would not? Kill a class of enemies with let’s say 2 hits instead of 3? This is the last thing I find frustrating in DT.
