This is a nonsensical rewriting of history. Cyberpunk 2077 was in such a dumpster fire state at release that it made my local news LMAO!!!

It varied a lot for people. I was one of the lucky ones that could play it at launch with close to no crashing. Sure, HDR was broken and there were plenty of graphical glitches etc. I’m sure it was hell for those who were crashing all the time, though. (Or for most on console.)

I can’t think of an example where boosters are purchasable with anything except real money.

Can’t be sure how much Tencent is dictating the ā€œdesign intentā€ but so far everything I’m seeing from Darktide leads me to believe its monetization strategies will follow along with the kind of mobile game gatcha trash Tencent is known for. If boosters are already in the game’s code (first time i’m hearing about this, dont know the details) then i think the writing is on the wall as to what we should expect for the future. I’ve already shelved DT and plan to keep it that way unless some big positive changes come soon, but if they just keep piling on more mobile game style crap it’ll be the reason DT stays in my buyer’s remorse tab. It just reeks of a company creating problems and selling solutions.

They also didn’t rub salt in the wound by shipping an unfinished game with a fully functional premium cash shop right before a big holiday break. I don’t care who is responsible for making that call or how easy it is to implement vs other systems, anybody with half a brain could tell you that’s guaranteed bad PR.

The extra grenades and wounds might be available for in-game currency, but it seems likely that the others will be aquilas-only.

The only hint that they might be obtainable with in-game currency is that the values for those is 0.2, which I’m speculating to mean 20%. If that’s the case, that’s definitely on the low side for something you have to spend real money on.

Yeah there’s no way of knowing if this is something they’re seriously thinking about putting into the game or not, but it would certainly explain the ā€œdesign intentā€ of siloing all progress and making the grind absurd, not to mention not giving us any way to actually obtain loot aside from the god-awful RNG lottery store. It reeks of creating terrible, horrible systems that have no respect for player time, in order to sell solutions.

The way that these are phrased makes me think it might actually just be positive mission modifiers, similar to what’s in DRG, and not something that you’d purchase with any kind of currency.

That’s the best case scenario I guess.

Edit: Not too sure about this on second thought, the stuff about a ā€œboon vendorā€ is troubling.

I’d be quite relieved if that was the case.

It’s not just a boon vendor, it’s also a boon slot.
This is definitely a bought item that enhances certain aspects.

Currently what is unknown is:

  • Has it been scrapped or being developped actively?
  • Will it cost premium currency, Ordo or weekly currency?

It does, smell of create the problem, sell the solution tho.

I really loved mission extras in VT1 and this feels like that. However, if it’s P2W…

In the whole mess that are DT stores, I wish that Melk’s contracts were there just to provide the crafting and boon fuel.

Really starting to get worried. The complete comms blackout is pretty concerning. In combination with absolutely nothing happening in-game (from money shop not updating, to global condition never ever changing) it’s starting to look like they’re completely abandoning the game. I don’t want to believe it, but now I’m worried that the survey was really about nailing down what they should look to fix before they release on console, and that they’ve already completely dropped PC so they can work on the console port and trick a whole new group of customers into buying this unfinished mess.

I think he pointed that the game, Cyberpunk, was complete. Darktide is not as we don’t have the crafting system.

I think about testing other games in the same gameplay (GTFO / deep rock galactic)…
However I wait yet… hoping that they will finally deliver what was promised for the end of the LAST year.
Anyways, I have plenty other games I could play, like the witcher 3 (RTX)…

Don’t wait for deep rock galactic, it’s fantastic
