XBOX & Steam

I’ve been playing this game on my xbox for sometime while I was in the process of getting a new PC which I finally did. Since getting my new PC, I recenly bought the game on steam. Once I intalled in through steam after I started the game and I saw that none of my characters are appearing. During the inital startup it prompted me to create a new account login (which I didn’t want to do) since I was running the game in steam. I thought it was ood that it didn’t just have me login. When running the game in steam, is it possble to just login to my darktide account that I’d been using for my xbox so I can just play those characters? Or is becase they are two seperate platforms am I out of luck? I litteratly have bought it on both platforms in the hopes that since its all under the same account (or at least I thought it was) that was all that was needed.

No shared stuff across xbox/xbox gamepass PC and steam, but support may be helpful and copy some stuff over if you want to remain on Steam for PC.
Xbox GamePass for PC is still an option unless you really want to stay on Steam.

I think it’s pretty shady that they would let you buy the game twice without warning you that there’s no shared progress. It’s all about the money to them.

Ask for a refund if wanna use it on GamePass PC?

What is the standard to base it on ?

And it’s not like your Xbox and Steam account are possible to be paired.

but I had no idea that I couldn’t just use the same darktide account info for both xbox and steam. I just thought as long as I bought the game on both that was what mattered and I could just use the same account info for the game on each. OMG, it’s 2024 the fact they aren’t making game progress linked by defalt is nuts. They are just wanting to make you wast your time, money and effort.

It is very common knowledge if you buy something on console it is going to be completely separate from a PC purchase. The only way that wouldn’t be true is if you are using a Microsoft account on a game that is an online title and shares a save system through a cloud. If you are playing a single player game on xbox/game pass and switch to PC, you will never see your progress transfer over unless there is a type of cloud save service available.

Not true. Blizzard isn’t like that. I can play Overwatch on both PC and xbox. You use the same battle.net account.

I wonder if it’s because MS bought Blizzard.

AFAIK the actual useful data is on FS servers with XB or Steam only being the front facing auth there’s still an FS account ID behind the scenes, is there some weird MS stipulation for not sharing? Or just no DB script for migrating or linking them? Brain hurty.

just refund it on steam. IIRC xbox & PC Gamepass uses the same account, so go get it on gamepass.

FWIW I would never assume stuff like this, always google first. I don’t think it’s that commonplace.
