According to the virtue signalling snowflakes, it is your duty to carry them, otherwise you’re a bad toxic player.
Another factor to consider is that you’ll be forced into small additional layer of difficulty.
You won’t be able to heal at medstation throughout the mission until you reach last 1-2 med stations which will have 4 charges because medstations at beginning/mid do not have full 4 charges. So you’ll be giving up use of them to players with lower health constantly. On top of that giving them green stim jabs.
So faced with dilemma of choice:
Keep overall team alive with health up as a whole or keep yours topped one first as you are most likely to be left alive to rescue everyone else.
the logical thing to do was to keep the most proficient player geared and healthy.
most likely he ain´t in a tight spot cause of own misplay but paying for their underperformance in “blood” to keep them either standing or getting them back up.
since this is an ongoing problem throughout the match, said run is most likely to fail if the one leading char has 3 times the effort but only 1/4th the ressources.
My favorite thing I hate is in high level Havoc specifically. People (typically zealots) running a speed build. These are shite for 2 reasons
- They run off and leave the team to basically 3 man the level. I don’t care if you aren’t going down and are drawing some of the enemies away, that’s not how force multipliers work.
- Even if they stay with the team, those builds typically contribute to the team less than other builds. I don’t care how much bleed you have on that knife, I would rather take a player that does nothing but use smite the whole game.
I’m sure a portion of these players are ones that would rather run solo, and I can sympathize with their plight as there is no option to do so, but sod off.
I won’t stop repeating that using scoreboard and fact checking speedrunners is the funniest sht to do in the game. Who are you “clutching” with that build, bro? You have twice less damage and elite/special kills than a shield Ogryn LMAO.
“Shroudfield’s such a great clutch tool!”
Yeah, one that you don’t need if you’re actually a decent team player.
"dont need to fight what doesnt spawn "
seems to be the same logic as in me declaring having won countless wars on my own, simply by only declaring them silently in my living room.
heck i´ve conquered to world multiple times over by now
mistaking skill for avoiding confrontation instead of actually fighting the enemies and coming out on top due to better aim/movement etc is the most
i can think of
Even if they were fighting and killing stuff, when they do it, it’s always like this:
- Run away
- Turn around at a choke point
- Flamer for like 3 seconds
- Repeat
I don’t get it, is that fun for them? Because it’s boring af to watch. Idc if it works long term.
There is also no good defense of this playstyle that isn’t just “well if my team could also solo the game like me…”
Yeah. No sh*t. But I’m not queuing for what is a coop experience first and foremost to play solo the whole match (not including brief clutch moments).
^. Even those very skilled players who suffer from terminal Main Character Syndrome that you only accidentally stumble into on occasion in the mission you all queued up for. Why even pug at that point? Is everyone else just an NPC difficulty lowering mutator for you to solo? Just wait for your buddy and do a duo.
There’s a minimum expected co-op in a co-op game that is owed to the rest of the team, IDC if you’re only just good enough for specific diff (you paid your dues and are prepared) or are used to HiSTG+ Duos (with helper mods).
Simplest answer is that they arent pressured to get better so long as they have fun (dying). A lot of them are the “No Scoreboards” crowd.
I’ve done that before. I like reminding teammates that theres still a looting element to this game.
Old uncle still playing games with kids/young adults energy.
I agree with this to a point. Sometimes the team is so woefully unqualified that you end up soloing without really trying to. Earlier today I was accused of rushing and abandoning my team on HISG damnation on Archivum Sycorax. This was during the airlock sequence where the whole point is to rush through it yet all the other members were constantly allowing themselves to get bogged down by never ending spawns of chaff.
This same dynamic plays out a lot. I’m just moving through the map, killing as I go. I never leave anything alive behind me yet I find droves of players taking inordinate amounts of time dealing with very simple scenarios and engagements. I’m not leaving them behind on purpose as much as they’re just not able to keep pace despite the bulk of enemies ahead of them being dead. At that point, when someone’s that far out of their depth, I will not constantly backtrack to bail them out.
Indeed it is a coop game, but that truth cuts both ways. If the only cooperative interaction someone provides is the role of recurring victim in need of saving, then they should return to a difficulty in which that is not the case.
This is why I specifically stated "only just good enough for specific diff (you paid your dues and are prepared) ", the distinction is very important.
I’ve had zero patience for tourists and I’ve always made the distinction and collected hundreds of downvotes for it. Most of the replies where “bad toxic player” as @Enforest mentioned, and ofc “fat nerd bigot!11!!” here.
If the tourists who are dozens of hours away get treated like bots after a while, that’s on them at that point, they had no business there in the first place.
Abso-freakin-lutely, selfish arsehole behavior should be treated accordingly.
Should have seen Steam forums too XD
“Feel free to join any difficulty you want, skilled players like me always happy to carry”
“If you are not able to solo every Auric T5, then you’re a bad player”
“You’re the reason why you lose, not your teammates”
Is there anything else more pathetic than lying self-righteous snowflakes like that?
Even if they aren’t lying, they’re humble bragging (source: am known to be arrogant).
Good for you bud, you can solo the game while someone gives you a testicular torsion, in the middle of a house fire, in the dead of winter, with no air conditioning.
Some of us work for a living. Or weren’t genetically engineered to be gods at Darktide.
Oh, they sure do. It’s the internet. The louder someone brags and screeches about other people “skill issues” the worse they are at the game. I’ve seen literal hundreds of such “clutchers” crumble on the most simplest of questions. For example there was a guy who claimed that people who are asking for Ogryn changes have skill issues and he carries every Havoc match with the Ogryn and when people asked what was his build he answered something “he is great when built for cleave”. WTF does this even mean. When asked to elaborate he got irate and deleted himself from the discussion.
Same with defending Auric passengers. They are mad at you bringing up this problem because it directly threatens their success at being carried, so they project and attack you.
See the funny thing is, I think I know the basis for this argument and it basically boils down to just “build left side tree”. Obviously, that’s like 1 of 2 (good) Ogryn builds available.
But as you said, he either (charitably) has an inability to communicate his thoughts properly or is just parroting something he heard elsewhere without understanding it.
Bro I’ve done like 2 or 3 havoc 40’s with 2 ogryn’s in the party, it legit felt twice as hard as if we had 2 zealots/psykers/veterans. Sure, they were extremely good and didn’t die, but the crowd of enemies was undeniable and made it impossible to move out of the elevator for almost 3 minutes at one point in that one catwalk spot in dark communion - I don’t know how we survived lmao.
As a once victim of testicular torsion (the ultimate form of c*ck block, true story.), this really drove the point home for me.
If there’s anything the internet has revealed to those with eyes to see it’s that people will quite liberally “just say stuff”. Doesn’t have to be true, or nice or constructive in any way. 90% of the internet is filled with the mental queefs of people who don’t think all that much or all that deeply most of the time.
I don’t believe about 96% of people who say they can solo auric damnation or that havoc was “too easy” and so on. Sell that slop to someone who’s buying I say, cus it ain’t me.
On tourist topic, from a year ago almost to the day.
The reply I got here was hilarious and par for the course, of course. This particular match is a core memory now.
