This was a regular damnation-special event infested armor run.
Why are people queuing for damnation when they haven’t even gotten past uprising yet clearly?

I have the opposite issue where I want to solo clutch but everyone is playing Arbites or Ogryn and getting bailed out of trouble. I just had a civi where a shield cop was on the ground for over half the match and their dog still nearly got them 1 million damage.

Yeah auric and maelstrom games are filled with horrible players and I think the maelstrom requirement for havoc and penances in general make it infinitely worse than it ever was in the past. From perma smite psykers to noobs alike they flood the auric board and I can also tell its bad due to how many leavers there are. I also think damnation players are so bad that new players get sick of losing and just decide to try auric and once they get carried they stick around and I think this is especially true for perma smite psykers. They have horrible damnation teammates so they lose constantly but the moment they come to auric and get carried their “support” build is validated and they stick around. I cant tell you how many players running wounds I see and zi just know theyre bad at the game. I also lose runs alot and will check builds in the mourningstar and they have no clue what theyre doing. I guarantee you the average damnation player is losing like 90% of their runs and especially now that they changed the mission board and there are harder modifiers. Those people are flooding auric and maelstrom and they just stick around and get carried cuz theyre sick of losing constantly. Thats not the sole reason but it has to be a big part of whats going on. Its never been as bad as it has been for awhile but we used to not have penances and havoc wasnt a thing, its so much worse since those things were introduced into the game.

They were in your CIVI Cuz they wanna go suck in havoc not realizing havoc is end game content beyond end game content. The fact that they made maelstrom a requirement for havoc was the dumbest thing they could have ever done and then they went and made it so that you have to “earn” your way up the ranks meanwhile theyre just getting carried through everything. Also all the havoc noobs must just get destroyed constantly and quit havoc altogether or they never beat a 20 or get carried anyway and now theyre in your havoc 25 game its all hilarious at this point. Like why the hell are these people who havent mastered the other 6 difficulties trying to play havoc. Hilarious how much this playerbase is hell bent on everyone getting a participation trophy. They really just want to do the things other people do but the problem with that is they arent capable skill wise but everyone is so op in this game we just carry them through every single piece of content anyway so it really doesnt even matter.

they start with abysmal “skills” and would need a good year practise with movement, aim, basics like disabler priority etc.

thing is, these tourists be gone the second the next hot :poop: gets churned out (thats the good news, we just need to hunker down and hunger them out)

but as long as they “grace us with their presence” they skip as fast as possible cause “achievements”

today i had a new low in terms of sheer stupidity and inability 2x in a row.

second time was hell bend on sabotaging the match with his repeated f-ups to the point we agreed not to rezz unless safe&cost efficient.

didnt prevent him to even run back from the airlock, headless into a cluster of enemies to pick up the fallen “comrade”
totally oblivious he can rezz his mate FOR FREE come next section.

i let him go down with no regrets, picked em up next stage and finished the match.

and this was a measly auric maelstrom no higher havoc

needless to say a bot would have contributed more to the result

Why should a player bother learning dodge, block. You could make the effort to not get hit, but they simply spam medstation and back to full health.

It doesn’t teach right lesson with such a crutch - Aim to not get hit even once as goal.

Easy med stim, medstations, easy rescue 2 mins away. This is why people do suicide speed runs because the consequences are small in being back in the game at other’s expense. Then they repeat this process and not learn, in denial or simply don’t care.

Guarantee if they remove med stims and medstations you will start to see the difference in player consistency across all difficulties. People will choose difficulty they know they can roll one health.

just for everyone here to know, today out of 6 (?) games there was the one on trs-150 where people knew what they were playing, and for the others sadly we had no camping tables and chairs…

Not to refute your claim as it sounds like you’re an older timer. But it wasn’t THIS bad pre-Arbites/Battle for Tertium, even with those things.

I think I’m at the point I firmly believe that the mission progression rework not only was far too late, but it was abhorrently timed with space cop so even more combat servitors could be dragged through the levels and put into difficulties they don’t belong.
And that’s if they weren’t the space cops themselves, getting the benefits and ability to ignore most of the game’s fundamentals this board has discussed ad naseum at this point.

meanwhile i guess that in the eyes of all these guys who stay behind to slay the last poxwalker, we were the terrible teammates because we did not run back to rescue them, repeatedly, or not even recognize what deadly obstacle a horde of poxers is.

Tell. Me. About. It. I have had carrying fatigue for at least the last 2 years.

My buddy (who is one of the miniscule 1% of the playerbase I feel is competent enough to play at a higher difficulties) and I just finished the penances for the Arbites, and the road has been riddled with carrying fatigue from start to finish. Now we are off on an indefinite Darktide-detox again, and that is unfortunately 90% (if not more) because of the general playerbase (and then 5% because of the broken trappers and 5% because of broken poxbursters).

We play mostly auric maelstrom and sometimes dip our toes into Havoc, but usually stay away from Havoc because of once again; the playerbase. I just cannot fathom why most players go: “Aaah yes, I will now choose to play auric damnation/auric maelstrom/high level havoc missions even though I am completely incapable of understanding how to deal with the core game mechanics, so I will be downed and get killed all the time and I must be carried throughout 80-90% of the mission - unless I am a flaky quitter-generation person who will rage quit the moment something doesn’t go my way. Despite all this, I must by all means preserve my make-believe honour, hence I will not swallow my pride and choose to lower the game difficulty by at least 1 level so that I can have a balanced game that offers me a fair challenge, but still enough headroom for me to get better at the game before I increase the difficulty.”.

The game has been out since November 2022. It has been more than 2 years.
I wished to believe that after so long, a somewhat proportionate decently skilled playerbase would have accumulated but no, no, no. Not by any stretch.

The true blight that is the stupid juice, flows through Tertium with devastating magnitude.

I have clocked in 1950 hours now, and at this point I have no shame talking like this about this particular discussion, so anyone who feels hurt by what I said, go ahead and file an insurance claim at the brew-ha-ha office.

Wildgate just came out, Rogue Trader is working now, new content for Helldivers.

just don’t see the point in playing Carrytide

I have said this on here before but i will say it again, this game is losing a lot of its identity with how brain dead it is becoming and overall “dumbing down” of its combat system, which has always been its biggest strength

Just when you though OK a game without Arbites, it has 2 Ogryns rumbler AOE spamming map.

At this point the game is more of a comedy…like watching one of those auto Battle Simulator games on steam.

A game where players can identify broken aspects in few days but takes many months to be looked into, if at all.

Once in a while OK but doing backtrack for someone downed collecting plasteel gets really dry. I’m close, very close to not care and play how I want and ignore what other’s want from me.

Skin money obviously not going to improving servers or new maps, probably funding for next game, which is something a lot of devs do. It is like viewing the playerbase as a means to print money from skin shop, designs outsourced with minimal effort and regular content reduced to modifiers to same old maps.

Then they celebrate the game “got there in the end” after almost 3 years. It backtracked into simplicity of sprint and M1 spam, now comedy like battle simulator games.

The constant random players who are not be able to get through a mission without medstim/medstations spamming. Crutching on those as a means to get through.

The only thing that stops me jumping on stealth zealot DS and be a vacuum and suck all the boxes and play me first is that I don’t want to affect genuine players who are courteous.
