What are you doing here, folks? Do you just buy games and DLC to buy them?
Did you get even remotely close to 100 missions done yet?
Do you play games for fun?
I was 1/3rd of the way done with Justice Dispensed through ~5 full missions.
Both Terminus Warrant penances were complete by the time I reached Damnation.
Seriously, anyone in these images, give me your thoughts if you feel so inclined.
Sometimes I just need to hear the rationale if I can’t make it make sense myself.
Do people still play games for fun? Am I become old man, yeller at clouds?
People thought they were earning something, and their effort towards earning that (which may have not been how they’d normally choose to play the game) got effectively nullified. I think it makes sense that some people are annoyed by that.
Are people planning to play Arbites without keystones?
Do they want to drop him already? (can’t argue with that if they feel the lack of challenge).
Do they want to “complete” Darktide and move on to new shiny thing? (i know the answer to that one)
i certaintly am, the class has no appeal to me, i’ll drop him as soon as i’ve done my 100 games
moreover the main problem was with his left keystone penance (the meta one) and some people myself included had wish to spend more time on the other two to see if there were any interesting mechanics at play, and being stuck on that marked elite/special 3500 kills felt like wasting my time
This I don’t get. I get the feeling of “stuck” chasing a penance you don’t necessarily jive with. Like I quickly knew Terminus Warrant wasn’t great.
But, isn’t that the purpose of the penances? It should make you tool around with the penance to learn about it and if it can be made to fit your style through the extra nodes and weapon synergies.
And, I’m not really a “lore” guy that can’t separate gameplay from setting. But it’s a penance. I haven’t loved every one I’ve done, but I did them for the accomplishment because I valued that (and the track rewards when they were still a thing).
And these were some of the most “just play the game” penances that exist.
I think I’d understand it a lot more if we were talking numbers that were laughable to achieve before hitting even 100 missions.
I’ll just go look for more clouds to yell at. I see a lot of AI in the news lately, so I’ll be busy.
that’s usually my argument when people complains about a penance being too hard, but if you have been around this game for a while you can certainly recognize a pattern where class penances are being more lenient than others (specifically for people like me that just like playing their main)
(yes i know psykers have those two, but i would argue devs didn’t mean to make them that much harder than the other classes when making them, and the fact most all got made easier are my proof of their intent)
i’m very much against these type of penances aswell, there should not be a place on this game for those aswell, especially that one, play 50 times Rolling Steel (a mission in The Void i think its called)
the reason i don’t speak up against those is because Fatshark have that so engrained in their reward system that i don’t think my request would ever be heared (unlike these ones)
and besides all that i’m sincerly thankfull that we are not dealing with something on the line of Okri’s Challenges on VT2, with incompletable ones like the weave seasonal rewards
After years I still haven’t completed the heavy hitter penance, for example, because if I recall it doesn’t count properly with bleed stacks, which I have all the time. I was completely dazzled that they fixed that so quick when me and others have been complaining about private penances for years. I even head completed all skill arbites penances before hitting 75 games completed, so they were not even that grindy.
Almost makes you wish that all classes were paid dlc, if they give it such a special treatment with so unusually quick response times.
The only one I really saw as being Truly reasonable as a requirement lowering to complain about was 1 million kills, because that takes a long friggin time (I still don’t have it) and it undermined the whole accomplishment.
DoT won’t make you progress in any penance or contract, its super annoying when farming those ranged kills for melk, and 90% of your team ranged damage is soul blaze
These arent big challenges, its like the other penances for vet, psyker, ogryn, they had a lot of adjustements.
Ogryn’s ‘‘gone bowling’’ used to be 100 enemies in one F, now its something like 40?
Just saying yeah it happened before multiple times.
It will happen again, but we must understand what matters is the end result.
They’re just balancing for future players, it may be they felt 3500 felt reasonable with a little playtesting but the player base felt it was too much, they then re-adjusted it.
you just happened to complete a challenge before the buffs that made it easier.
While I didn’t see any complaint, a couple of friends who care about penances were really, really not big fans of the Terminus Warrant penance.
Since I enjoy Execution Order’s playstyle I got it through “normal” play fine (since I mostly play Havoc’s that probablyincreases the rate at which you earn the penance with all the elites). I hate Terminus Warrant and never play it so I don’t care about it’s associated penances.
Personally I don’t get why people get so upset over changing penances to make them more bearable. I think more “achievement or milestone” penances should stay hard to earn and not be changed, but I don’t think generic class penances should be monumental tasks, outside of games played.
I don’t get it, it’s a very straightforward penance and it doesn’t take ages. There are some others that take waaaaaay longer or are tricky and convoluted. Even the terminus warrant penance is worse but no one complains about that.
Complains about these penances are laughable, I grinded all except one penance before nerf, and nerfing seems like a pointless thing to do, especially when other classes got some insane demands, including having a friend to play private game in order to do penance and among some of the penances player can do alone or could, there’s some absolutely disgusting ones.
