The game’s been out (almost) 2 years now. Why did it suddenly get censored in some regions?

PS5 release seems related. Sony is known to make really stupid decisions when it comes to stuff like this.

It does, although I don’t really understand why it should effect the other consoles too, especially with stuff like blood and gore
PS5 yea, they prob use the identical same code across all platform, and so PC got hit too with these restrictions. luckily there is already a mod for pc that disables these restrictions.

this mod removes the region restrictions

Didn’t even see the other mod as it was trivial, so identical.
Instead of
AccountManagerSteam.region_has_restriction = function (self, restriction)
return not not self._region_restrictions[restriction]
end
it just always returns false, like the base “class”

the one on nexus works on steam platform, but it is untested for gamepass version as for now, even though, it should work. and seems to be lightweight than few kb at least, so the nexus one better. dunno why making the same mod, if it’s identical, some people took care of it already.

oh yeah, i have that one. it’s glorious, however when using this mod i can barely see what i’m shooting at for all the gore

Ok why is the Sony release censoring the game that was absolutely fine all this time on Xbox. I can’t even mod that karking stuff back in. From all the arguments of immersion to simply the fact that it never seemed to be a problem till now… Why the hell did this not even get mentioned?
Such a big visual aspect of the game just being removed with a “Tehe, maybe they won’t notice.” Is pretty uppsetting.

Haha, true. It also probably doesn’t help performance by having so many effects on screen. May be a bit of an over correction.
If this censor is not a filthy bug it’s outrageous. Why the bloody kark nerf gore on a Warhammer 40k title.

The visual feedback is such a massive part of the game too, it is a horrendous change.

not only the feedback, its only satisfying if they turn into bloody chunks when hit by calibers that’d dislocate your shoulder joint and send you flying backwards.
without the beauty of violence 40k loses its appeal for me completely.
without the option to let out that violence bred through these universes inhuman conditions i could simply book my vacation somewhere in the eastern regions of our planet, unarmed and get the same experience

i mean i still can chuckle given there’s a mod
(angry though no doubt about the spineless act and really pissed at those letting it pass rather than tell sony where to shove their bitchass censorship)
but the main reason i’m having a good time in my week off playing stalker 2 is “ukranian floor sausage”
nothing says eastern health care like standing in radioactive muck, in the sewer, dropping your gas mask appearantly and taking a biiig bite out of the sausage you picked from the 
and worse covered floor.
