So as you know, some countries go an extra mile (or kilometer) if it’s about age restrictions and censoring gore. Germany sometimes is one of those countries but Darktide already got approved by the USK and rated 18+ because of it’s gore.
No censorship is needed and this recent patch that just removed all gore and disabled ragdolls is ONLY DEVS FAULT.
The PC version got approved 18+ on 24. November 2022 while the Xbox version got 18+ approved on 31st January 2023. Everything is fine and golden until the DEVS decided to take content away for people that bought the game prior.
EVEN IF YOU WANTED TO BUY THE GAME TODAY IT WOULD BE 18+ APPROVED AND UNCENSORED, this didn’t magically change.
What i demand from you DEVS is to revert the gore changes back to what they have been when you released the game. With ragdolls on alive and dead enemies, blood and gibbing. If you don’t follow through, i will go through steam and refund it, with a LAWYER if needed.
I urge everyone to do the same because money is the only language they understand.
well their asshats but if your pc just install the mod and leave your steam review negative darktide wont ever get a positive review but has a text written with if its for 10 € its worth it. But all those decisions / broken fixes bugs and other stuff (looking at aquilla price increase and removing weapon skins from those packs ) eh to much happend to wholeheartly recommend it with a thumbs up.
Most changes were meant for Japan only.
The only thing that will be removed at the end for German and Austrian players are interactions with ragdolls aka. enemy corpses. (Enemies become “ragdolls” only after they die)
So we won’t be able to kick them around or dismember.
I don’t know German rules about it, but most games that come out like Dead Island 2 have such censorship.

However, I’m not defending FS and I think it’s unacceptable to censor a game after 2 years after release.
So unless their were informed that they have to remove interactions with corpses they shouldn’t have touched it at all on PC.
ironically i made an austrian epic account, installed the uncut version just fine, without vpn and was mashing these mangled corpses into the finest pulp the engine would allow.
so different city/state or no, until now the whole of austria was still among the “normal people”.
i wager them getting the german treatment… oooh boy.
dead island 2 is a fun game, but buddy of mine had the german version with no “leichenschändung” (until he installed the “fix”) and dude did it suck out the joy of the carnage right away.
like having a huge sign “dont worry, only fiction and make belief, no “bad stuff” going on here”
the second the fix was installed we were giggling like madmen and kicked their bones clean

It also does not matter what dead island or whatever other game has. Darktide got rated and approved uncensored in 2022 with its release. There is no reason except being stupid to now censor it, you don’t even get a newer rating except fatshark did try to get a new lower rating than 18+,which would mean they are lying even more. Nevertheless I did not buy this game under these conditions, so currently it’s a breach of a contract and basically a case for the court as they took something away from me without my permission and without any law forcing them to.
I think it’s all due to the release on PlayStation and Fatshark getting trouble from Sony. For whatever reason everyone in germany and austria is suffering now.
Funfact: Most people buy uncut games in austria if that game is cut in germany. That’s totally legal and in no way forbidden. So why suddenly censor austria too? Makes no sense at all.
