What's the reasoning behind removing gore options for longtime owners of the game?

It’s easy as the title.
What was the reason you removed post-death ragdolls for germany and austria on customers that game you their money two years ago? USK approved it for germany in the state the game has been the last two years and there is no case where the USK re-evaluated something on their own and demanded changes.

If there was any change to local laws, link it, prove it.

If you did this because Sony told you so, link it, prove it.

There is no ragdoll setting available anymore. I paid 60 Bucks back on release since i wanted to support you guys. You did a great job on Vermintide 2 and yet you betrayed all german and austrian customers.

i know there are mods around this, but i want the ones that fed this up fix it again because they fed it it up longtime customers for no reason at all AND THEY HIT AUSTRIA COLLATERALLY TOO for no reason at all

Something to do with a failed Austrian artist and Japanese behaviour in 1940s?

i know how it feels man, been fighting that damn censorship since the early 90s, heck late 80s even if you count c64 games.

ironically no one even bats an eye releasing wolfenstein titles uncut nowadays, the holy grail of sticking the :fu: to the censors.

mortal kombat, another “favorite” lost a bit of the forbidden fruit appeal when since 11 all’s fine and dandy getting an 18 age rating.

now granted the last “white whale”, the last “big ooorah” (or so i thought) was the mindfkkery with dead island 2, but then again which self respecting german gamer is buying a german version?

“yuck”

so, and heres the vital part… you KNEW up fronts what puzzy softwash this version was and made another account to register the foreign version onto.

voila, gory glory and all is right and well again.

whats the problem and issue i got with the whole thing, is getting sucker punched after 2 years of owning the proper version and getting a :man_shrugging: in return in regards to “age restrictions” when german law cant do :poop: once a rating has passed.

i.e the once holy grail of “strafrechtlich unbedenklich” predator 1987 uncut with all the juicy nice dangly corpses hanging from the trees and organs neatly arranged below (yes i know first grader stuff in todays times) “can” be show in normal evening tv, being rated 16 as of now.

see, games get removed from the “index” in case of wolfenstein, half life etc as you cant scare a toddler with these ancient graphics and young folk see some really grotesque stuff just scrolling tik tok.

back in the day we had rotten(scrap the adress, its literally going to link, and you NOT want to go there  )and ogrish but hey now its an app

anyways stuff gets rated lower if anything as time moves on… castrating after 2 years just to appease the for all we know non existant law suits?

german “kaspers” got more problems right now than to bother about me jiggling around some nurgle corpses.

nah, the boggyman evil mustache isnt edgy enough anymore, you can buy wolfenstein games with your morning coffee in every store that sells games and hot caffeinated breweries

japan tentacle stuff never was a problem here in germantown, some 12 pm commercials could pass as hentai somewhere else around the globe

its bizarro world where tits 4ss and nipples dont get anyone panties in a twist (the irony) but violence is a no-no.

we are a slaneesh country sir, khorne is not welcome here

you know what bugs me about this, that this barmy censoring is supposed to protect youth from whatever malefic influence… yet it doesn’t have an age verification system, so grown people run into this bs when they’re just trying to enjoy a game as everyone else in the world can. but only if you’re in germany you’ll turn into a zombie as soon as you see red pixels.

i actually wrote to the USK, will post if i receive anything from them.

Like @Index said, knowing that a game is CUT and getting the UNCUT version was common back in the days. I bought stuff like Left 4 Dead (1 and 2) in Austria since they didn’t sell the cut versions. Other games got imported over from the UK. You could just activate them on Steam and play the uncut version just like everyone else.

This is btw. absolutely legal.

The censoring FatShark now did just retroactively hits all germans and for some stupid reason even Austria. Just like that, two years after money exchanged hands.

I remember those days. Back then it was the conservatives banning everything under the sun. I remember the media ragging on a lot of games every other month, scaring uninformened mothers nationwide.

But now legacy media has lost and Gaming is ascendent. SCREW YOU, DEUTSCHE RUNDFUNK! WE WON! YOU LOST! IT’S OVER!

It’s like Obesefish discovered some ancient writings from Gaming’s prehistoric caveman times and decided that, yes, now was the perfect time to comply with a sentiment of forces that have long been defeated (old 90’s politicians).

This company is getting new world records running circles around itself. I don’t even know what the use of implementing that is, they might have just wasted some programmers monday on that for nebulous reasons.

i think it was “pc player” with their doom article commenting “gewalt im überfluss, muss das sein” (excessive violence, is it really necessary)

and reading the puzzy comment, as with one voice, we were shouting “ja !MUSS es”

back in the day you could really agitate those tree huggers with boasts about playing manhunt one handed cause the other was busy :eggplant: :fist: :sweat_drops:

they really bought it and were shocked to their weak cores.

I used to play WoW and my mom would ask me if I that was “safe” and not “so violent and evil like this game (Manhunt)”. There was coverage on TV then, too. And about that racing game where you could squish pedestrians.

carmageddon is what your seeking

lots of b-listers that i only collected to :fu: bpjs
“phantasmagoria” was another stinker but the head split in two scene was “mandatory” at school yard inspection and proof you werent a sissy.

one item missing in the collection(sure could get it now easily) was the sin addon “wages of sin” for whatever reason it didnt make it past customs.

game itself is 75%er at best, but that addon is "the one that got away "

they might won a battle but lost the war

and amazon tv… boy are there “gems” that didnt even get banned here, never heard of em.

doug mclure and rapey fish monsters… wouldnt even have collected those d-movies back in the day but here they are as “newly added” horror flicks.

youth today doesnt count its blessings :joy:
