Hotfix #53 (1.5.11) is live now on Steam and it will shortly follow on our other platforms. You can read the patch notes below! This is only a smaller update before we release Grim Protocols next week. Bug fixes and tweaks will be wrapped into that larger patch next week.
QoL updates
Tertium Logo Animation and Text Update: In this update we’ve added some small changes to transitional screens in Darktide, which will appear while you are loading.
The animated spinning Tertium logo is now present in more places, such as after a mission.
Text has been added to indicate on what step the game process is currently at.
Dev Note:The intent with this addition is to make it more transparent to players what happens during these transitions, and give more clarity to troubleshooting in case players run into longer-than-expected waits.
(Updated Note): We have applied restrictions based on age rating board recommendations and rules.
Cosmetic Fixes
Fixed instances where the hands and arms would clip on the Veteran “Arlo Tohmasson’s Battledress” upperbody cosmetic.
Fixed a small gap between arms and body on the Veteran “Tanker Commander’s Battlegear (Moebian 110th Armoured)” upperbody cosmetic.
Known Issues (Updated)
We have temporarily removed Chasm Station HL-16-11, Magistrati Oubliette TM8-707 and Excise Vault Spireside-13 from the mission board until Grim Protocols releases (Dec 3) due to an issue that would sometimes occur and prevent players from ending the mission.
A fix for this has been included in Grim Protocols for December 3rd.
There are some rare instances where a weapon keeps shooting while in secondary braced stance even after the trigger button is released. It is possible however to end the input by performing another action, like reloading or removing the braced stance.

[PS5 Only]: We have identified and are working to fix a memory leak issue when loading textures that could cause an out of memory crash after longer sessions of gameplay.
A fix for this has been included in Grim Protocols for December 3rd.
[PS5 Only]: After resuming from Rest mode, players may not be able to join text or voice chat when joining back into the Mourningstar.
Dev Note:It is advised to return to character selection or restart the game as a workaround to solve the issue.
[PS5 Only]: No error message will be displayed when a PS5 player attempts to join a party with a player on a different platform who has Cross-Play disabled.
[PS5 Only]: The Brightness and Motion Blur settings are not available in the Video options.
[PS5 Only]: The game may crash when changing multiple times in rapid succession between Performance and Quality mode the Video options.
This is unrelated but I think it’s still important. There is no in game explanation of what auric missions are and how they differ from standard missions. It’s possible it’s explained in the tutorial but most players don’t go near auric until they’ve maxed out their character if they go near it at all. Auric missions are intimidating to newer players and I think that’s because of a misconception.
I had to look up what the differences were online and I had no idea that a Heresy Auric mission was exactly the same difficulty as a Heresy Standard mission if you take away the special condition. I assumed that they were Heresy+ or Damnation+ and that values were ramped up. I didn’t know the context behind why they were introduced in the first place or even taht they were introduced because I started playing after the fact.
Anyway, I think if the Auric missions tab had an explanation of what they were less people would be intimidated by them and more players would be added to that player pool
Currently, MODs cannot be used. If you are unable to start the game, try running toggle_darktide_mods.bat
You should be able to play normally after turning off the mod
Great - FS broke mods that made the game more playable = Not worth playing till mods get fixed. The vanilla UI + quality of life stuff is just the pure horror.
You still are lacking a scoreboard etc etc etc…
Guess it’s time to look at other games (after ~2000h of DT)
Amazing update. 100% crash on start up while using mods. Heh just disable mods and play the game, right? Wrong. I cant join hub for the last few weeks since i am getting 3001 error, and my only way to play the game was by using Psych Ward mod. Every single time you think that Darktide are getting better its actually getting worse.
strawhat, this is all cool and what not, but when can we get a patch that changes private modes 2 player requirement to only be 1 player? it wouldn’t take longer than half an hour, if even 20 minutes. the community has wanted this for YEARS and it would be best for the game if fatshark would actually do what they said that they would.
Common misconception. We did not break any mods. Our code has changed in preparation for our next major update. It’s on the modders to update their code in order for it to work with our game again.
