Why are you so slow with adding more content? over 1 year and 1 career added

It is the next thing, see my source !

Iam not telling you are lying but i got hyped for the stream that never came so iam skeptical

Orcs aside, it’s obvious that FS left a really small skeleton crew working on Vermintide 2, given Darktide is supposed to come out next year.

Still, the game has been out for over 2 years now, nearing 3 actually, and the content we got given this time is pretty laughable. I mean we went almost an entire year ( From 2018 to 2019 ) with basically no new content or info at all, up until the release of the beastmen expansion, which we all know how that went…

I can’t imagine how hard it is to make new maps or a new career, it’s probably really time and money consuming, and the three bastards that were left on Vermintide 2 are definitely trying their best. But im afraid that FS is biting off more then it can chew, between 2 games, expansions and different versions of those games, it’s clear that they are struggling keeping up the pace, which ultimately leads to consumers feeling disappointed and players feeling bored.

I really hope they announce a release date for the Chaos Wastes, because given their natural slow speed and baby corona, i’ll doubt we’ll be seeing it in 2020.

Stop doing shrooms they are not good for you

Unless it’s going to be in Hell Pit since it’s in the Chaos Waste

FS Hedge had this to say on the forums a month or two back

“Lazy? No. Slow? Sure, we’re not the fastest dev team, but it buys our developers a good quality of life. We don’t do crunch. We have excellent working conditions, and we value our quality of life much much more than we do squeezing devs dry of life, love and inspiration by forcing people to push themselves for the sake of company profits. Problem with that ethos is when you compare us against studios who milk their employees of life, we look slow, lazy and uninterested. The difference is our devs go home, have a life and enjoy the work life balance our policies afford them. So many games are born of unhealthy work environments. Not all, of course, and perhaps we could do better, but if it comes at the cost of employee health - nah thanks.” https://steamcommunity.com/app/552500/discussions/0/2952628008362039408/

TBH i kinda agree with OP. I mean, S4 was supposed to have started already, we got no feedback on the new expansion (it’s ok if it’s a late release, just knowing something would be good), but most of all, what’s irking me it’s that we are getting no fixes for acknowledged bugs.

Nurgloth’s challenge is not working as intended because of the kill-feed changes.
Evacuation bell on cata is currently broken.
We still haven’t gotten Oleysa’s voicelines back.

When new stuff isn’t on the horizon it would be nice to get the current stuff polished. Those are 2 out of 3 challenges i’m missing from the game (not counting weaves) and I’d really appreciate a fix.

The problem is the so often uses explanation of the ‘small development team’ and the conditions that Hedge posted - all warm, happy and cosy and without pressure… all love each other and are happy…

And then you split this team to

  • we support Vermintide 2 and love it and do the next addon right now(!) there is lot to come…
  • we do a versus mode - standalone - we have such great ideas and there is lot to come…
  • we built a Warhammer 40k game - same engine that limits the performance of Vermintide 2 and that makes the once promised dedicated servers impossible but ‘we fixed all problems and the new game is great again’ and there is lot to come…
  • we have holiday season and all are on vacation for two month straight but… there is lot to come…

If you are that small team and this company with the great working conditions - maybe it’s not the optimal way to get content published when the team works on so many ‘construction sites’ at the same time.

As customer the only feedback we see current is nothing really happening. The pace of new content - even shilling cosmetics - is slow at it’s best. Everything seems delayed nearly every time and this is kind of frustrating.

The game is great and I enjoyed it playing now for 1400 hours but it’s harder every day to motivate my friends to join for another round.

We need content! The game needs actual some love and not only promises and the community needs information.

What’s going on? What can we expect in the near future - beta program - guessed begin?

Just communicate with us - or are again holidays in Sweden?

I still believe in Vermintide 2 and keep enjoying it but hope for movement - everything of information and content is better than ‘nothing’ right now.

I’m really glad they see it this way. It’s a model that’s more ethical and will continue to work if their content has enough depth for long-term enjoyment.

They just need to get better at making sure the gaps are filled. Events/community challenges, etc. It’s why I’ve criticised the reward system for having no longevity. Also maybe not focusing too much on things that aren’t as popular.

We know they are working on versus and on chaos wastes and a new career currently. Side projects are probably emporium hats, which were promised to come in a steady stream during s3 and probably the usual bug fixes and tweaks. Probably also preparations for a 2nd BBB. I think that the biggest issue is just how they spread out their releases. They have said they wanted to do bigger but fewer updates instead of more small ones, which i don’t really agree with but thats just me. (i remember it from a livestream somewhere, where they were talking about gamehealth, i might missremember though).

Also the comment hedge posted on steam is all good and well, and mental health is important, but it shouldn’t be used as an excuse or to try and hide behind it, and i hope they won’t do that because its a very easy thing to do. The steam comment might be interpretted as such, by some people.

I do have to give them credit for atleast admitting they might not be the fastest game company in the world. realising something is the first step to solving it, as they so often say. I hope they realise there are many possibilties to keep a company where there can be a good balance between mental health and Qol, while also being a great game company.

Just looking at the season 3 release patch notes. If they spread out all that content, players would be satisfied for longer. they should ask themselves if its better to have a big plate of food all at once, or have a normal meal every day. Like it’s fine to have hype updates, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of a month or even more of releases.

Imagine getting Grail knight first, then a week later new weaves season, then they release new weather variations, followed by a lhoner emporium cosmetic delivery with 5 new cosmetics, then a big patch and bug fixes.
Maybe its just me, but i’d rather have this then having it all at once. It feels different, even though we get the same.

Edit; i know its a very small company, so we cannot expect to have a new rework or content update every week, like other much bigger companies can do. Just something to consider, if they are already a small company and have issues bringing out alot of content fast, why not spread it out more, make it feel like its alot.

Having worked in the industry before (and also on a licenced Game Workshop project) a decade ago. I can attest that the industry is way trickier than it seems.

Fatshark is not a ‘small company’ but a medium one. So they have the hardest kind to maintain.
They have to pay a good bunch of employees while not selling enough to be able to really lose money on a project.

Thoses are issues we see with all ‘AA’ games studio, like Spiders, like Cyanide Studios, etc

What are you talking :joy:
You know how fuc… hilariously funy that will be?! With all the Voicelines we already have which are SUPERB imagine Greenskins talking. Oh Boy that is gonna be so damn good!

Bantering between Orks and Goblins. Orks smahsiong Goblins just because! thats what i would like to see for sure ! Orks should have a chance to Infight or Bully the smaller ones for whos getting the “kills” or first hit on the U5

How the hell you expect to sabotage greenskins? U5 is guerilla fighters and each mission is pseudo stealth mission to sabotage

And this is precious, fantastic. It should be applied to any work context/sector.

But a problem borns when, a studio with this (wonderful) policy, decides to focus theirself on too much projects… they are working on Vermintide 2 QoL / bug fixing, Chaos Wastes, Vermintide PvP and Darktide.

In my opinion, even if their intentions are the best, they made some bad choices…

… and communication also has some problems. The slogan “we will support this game for ten years” is not very clear if, and I go to extremes to make the concept easier, we have a first DLC during 5th year and a second DLC during 10th year.

If they add orks and gobos. They should be a 3rd side. It would be a chaos and fun.

(I know that they sided with a “good” side in Endtimes. But anyway)

Yeah I got to agree with soul here.
Even tough I absolutely love and agree how fatshark is handling its developers, I still cannot understand some of the choices made in the management side.
Like let’s be real, there are still aspects like deeds, traits, crafting among other things that are still not addressed after 2 years of this game being live.
