Yeah I often did not understand where the snark was coming from or why he did it. “This isn’t CoD” is cool, and I don’t even disagree, but he was replying to the sentiment of “where is the advertised weapon customization system?” which that doesn’t answer and it’s just obvious why that answer would upset people (ontop of the existing upset due to the missing system). There was no attempt made to let people down softly or something like that.

Or when he said that “the truth changes”. It’s completely true, plans can change and sometimes development can’t do the plans justice and needs to scrap ideas, change ideas, change course. But that quote has got to be the absolutely most tonedeaf thing to say when people ask what happened to something they swept under the rug.

completely agree, you don’t just reply “this isn’t (thing)” when somebody asks about a feature, you say “plans have changed, i know that you’re not happy about the customization system, but we’re going to work it out, we’re going to make sure that it is satisfactory, and we’re going to make sure that it works well enough for people to enjoy and understand.” and holy hell, fatshark did NOT do that. nobody listens to the community anymore, not unless it threatens their wallets.
