Guys please!

Look, I can’t be the only one here.

These designs. I just don’t get it, why??? They don’t look 40k. They don’t look Darktide.

Who what and WHY?? Please, can we get the designers in here and talk to them?? This insanity needs to stop!!

Edit

My friend just made a point to me. You guys don’t have to pay GW anything extra for these sales do you? Because they aren’t any specific designs from their products, these are your own designs.

That just makes me want to be sick.

Not sure how the contracts work but they are mostly based on GW designs. Necromunda has a lot of weird and wonderful stuff but so do the other specialist games. That hat for example is from the Elucidian Starstriders.

(the things I would do to get that death cult outfit)

oh my god, you wouldn’t believe how hard I tried to get that box set. But yeah, the Elucidian Statstriders, being a rogue trader themed set, with really nice designs. Wouldn’t that be good inspiration!

But uhhh yeah, sorry, in terms of looks? One looks good, the other looks like cheap cobbled together rubbish. The ingame one has basic pants, flak vest, same coat as was on other outfits, aaaaand slap on the feathered hat.

Revolting.

eeeh, to be honest. 40k is such a gigantic universe that no outfit could possibly feel out of place.
Full plate medieval armor? - basically most armors in 40k
bikini armor? drucchi and necromunda
ww1/2 outfits? vraks
victorian era / gothic / renaissance fashion? basically any nobles/people in high standing in 40k
Welcome to e̶s̶t̶a̶l̶i̶a̶ vietnam gentelmen? catachan
naked barbarians, robed priests, fantasy rogues, suit wearing gentlemen. It all fits within 40k

Out of place for darktide? yes but only the suit wearing pretentious **** on the left
Out of place for 40k? nah, all of them could fit

Someone needs to be fired at this point.

So you think the outfits are aesthetically pleasing? Seriously?

And you honestly believe that you can put those outfits on and go to a 40k convention? See, I don’t get what you’re arguing here. These are the kinds of outfits you think they should be making??

I think they should make the outfits theplayers want to wear. (Even if these outifts could have theoretically come from some mining asteroid moon in the Calixis Sector)

Vet and Ogryn looks like some rogue trade inspired stuff. I don’t like the Vet pants, looks like something an escher chick would wear (although it isn’t tight fit so idk), but the coat is nice, so it gets a pass from me.

The other two? Wow… Just wow. Haven’t seen this kinda crap in a while.

On another note, Ogryn’s coat is probably the first cosmetic I seen in a while that actually looks like it has some production value, most payed cosmetics in game look like as if they were made by some 3rd grade modder.

Hopefully it doesn’t look like sh-t in game.

Calm your rage and actually read what i said.

nowhere did i say that i like how they look, or that i’d buy any of them or that they’re high quality.
All i said is that they dont look out of place for 40k universe.

Are you serious?? You going to suggest I’m raging now?

So you would wear them to a 40k convention? Are they out of place, or not? Do they make sense as a product you sell to fans, or not??

Thanks for your input in this discussion Orome, you managed to make it weird. I clearly said that even if these outfits could theoretically be on one of the billions of worlds in the 40k universe, do they fit what fans expect? Do they excite players??? Thats my point here.

Just bear in mind please. They are selling these things. For money. Actual money you went out and earned. For me, it’d cost like just shy of 8 quid for that Veteran one. Maybe like 10 dollars, right?

I know this is rich coming from me but yes, you very much look like you’re raging.

But anyway again, i was only referring to this :

Just because they look bad that doesnt mean you wouldnt see someone wearing it in 40k.
Would you see hobos wearing terribly arranged, poorly fitted outfits? ofc its 40k after all. Would anyone want to cosplay said hobo? probably not but then again, you’d see people cosplaying as literally anything.

Honestly you’ve very much overreacting to my comment.

Im so sick of it I dont even look at the shop!

There ARE some good bits out there but most of it is recoloured or slightly changed variations of the same thing.

Idk why FS didnt just slap all the old faves in there, like they did with the Krieg outfit.
Just run thru the Guardsman infantry for a start and you have a plethora of fan faves.

They look perfectly fine to me. What do you mean they have to look like they’re from DarkTide? The fancier the outfits, the better! Do you play any other games? MMORPGs often have fancy, unrelated skins. League of Legends too. What’s wrong with that? Do you want all new costumes to look like soldiers? That’s boring.

Rogue traders and Nobility have aesthetics that are inspired by “Romantic Period” attire with the dark future aesthetics combined. These designs are lore inspired

On another note, I am still waiting for the rotation to bring back any commissar great coat or introduce a new one so I can have the full look with my black or red commissar hats, and also for the green command cap as well. Been waiting for months to see if they will do that.

Also for weapons cosmetics the revolver now has had different designs in the shop I seen, waiting to see when they will introduce new weapons skins for Bolt Pistol and Boltgun (aside from the upcoming Unlocked and Loaded update September 26, 2024)

40k is a huge universe and the imperium, despite it’s draconian and grimdark tone, also has its share of opulence, decadence, and perversity. It wouldn’t be 40k without it.

So, I love these seemingly-offbeat cosmetics because they provide a healthy reminder that for every ten thousand souls toiling away in the depths of some hellish hive pit or backwater world, there’s an aristocrat lurking over them in all their finery.

Plus, stripy clown pants are so hot right now.

They do look a like wh40k skins, but they are ugly af, idk how difficult is for fatshark to bring cool looking skins, i doubt that it’s “designer” fault and it’s just the people on top deciding what goes on the shop.

I never like FS skin design since V2. All of them are pretty bad. I too was surprised by the quality of the designers.

However, I think it’s an improvement in DT. Not a big improvement but it’s getting better. It will never be as good as Korean Game Dev kind of quality because those are too good and they focus heavily on visual. But I think FS is trying. So yall should chill a bit.

80%+ of the paid skins look like a generic post-apoc armor mod from Fallout 4 nexus. If there weren’t any seals/insignias/WH40k symbolic on them I would never have told you this is Warhammer.

They do look like 40k skins, but they are ugly and certainly not whata “reject” would use. Neither an “operative”.

I just want things that look good and coherent. More guard outfits, more full armor for zealot and ogryn, and more robes for psyker.
Sick of seeing expensive recolors and a mash up of meshes we already seen, and when it’s not that… then it’s premium and even more expensive.

The vet cosmetic looks good… ogryn acceptable. Others… hmmm
But tbh, none of these cosmetics are worth the price they ask.

Well those zealot shoes are godsent to anyone who is sporting the clown haircut.
