I see you are going with ye old just ignore the issue until it goes away schtick, well it wont go away and your “few weeks to talk about it” are up. You think you can treat your PC beta testers like garbage? We who bought the Imperial Edition, endured your ass game launch and a year with barely any improvements and almost no new content? Well then see you on reddit, discord, Steam discussions and most importantly Steam reviews. I wont even mention word of mouth.
And you’re not seeing a dime from me again, just in case you harbor any doubts about that.
Could not care less about them having a deal to promote new players. This has already blown over, but there are many threads for this now. I don’t think the people angry about this are in any way representative of the player base as a whole.
I’m sorry you’re upset. I hope that you get what you want (and that we all do even though these are different things) but for me, the 14k Aquillas given to console gamers are a complete non-issue. I welcome our new players (but I still want to be able to opt out of playing with them by disabling cross play) and I’m happy they got a good deal.
What’s driving me away from the game is the crafting. The funny money they can hand out any quantity to anyone they want and it would not phase me in the slightest… but I’m also not setting foot in that shop until the rotation FOMO stuff is removed and the shop is brought up to feature parity with the one from Vermintide 2. It’s a very novel concept – a shop where you see everything that is available and can buy whatever you want.
A year in and we’ve yet to see a lot of basic quality of life features that v2 had.
Like penance’s actually ticking off what have actually already done toward’s penance completion unlike darktide oh complete all mission types in damnation, oh you want to know what ones you’ve already done well tough luck buddy.
I’ll be honest, in a vacuum I’d agree with you that this entire thing is…not really relevant. Promotions do happen, it’s fine.
But it’s not in a vacuum. It’s in the context of Fatshark having an awful launch, releasing overpriced cosmetics, including a set that was both highly anticipated AND too expensive for PC players to buy with their Imperial Edition Aquilas, constantly screwing over the player base with RNG and refusing to fix the largest ‘pain points’, etc. And then a CM called the people who were annoyed about the perceived unfairness ‘pearl clutchers’ which imo was the final straw for a lot of people.
People don’t like feeling like they’re being taken advantage of. And Fatshark has done everything it can to foster that feeling.
IMO, it’s not about the money. It’s about the message.
They absolutely think that they can treat their OG playerbase like trash, especially the ones that are still playing the game.
They only care about whales splurging money in their macrotransaction store.
If they cared about them.
They would actually try with the store. Having the store cycle faster and with stuff the whales don’t already own would be a start.
