When Will Darktide's Dynamic Difficulty STOP VIOLATING Players' PCs?

Even on the same task at the same difficulty level, the moment your dynamic difficulty system forcibly ramps up the challenge, my frame rate gets brutally slashed from 150 FPS down to a stuttering 80 FPS – and this is WITH DLSS ENABLED! :sad_but_relieved_face:

My actual raw average FPS (pre-DLSS) drops even lower, potentially below 40 FPS. :scream:

The 1% lows are in absolute slide show territory (completely unacceptable).

DLSS fundamentally requires a sufficient raw base frame rate to function. Your broken dynamic difficulty system CRUSHES that raw performance into the dirt BEFORE DLSS can even attempt recovery.

This gross, artificial performance destruction has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the actual demands implied by your officially listed recommended specifications. :upside_down_face:

Fatshark doesn’t do optimised, or compromise (on graphics).

Why do you think the max in-game field of view feels like it belongs in the console shooters?

in over 30 years, from my very first 486 onwards, i dont remember a single game that was playable “satisfactorily” with the recommended settings.

kind of a running gag by now, glquake cost me around 1000$ for 2 graphic cards in 1997 to get past 30 fps :grimacing:

You poor soul

FR I can’t imagine ever considering 80 FPS “stuttering” :joy:

Yeah, especially when you think of games that have drastically scaling levels of craziness ('tide games, horde shooters, MMOs, Skyrim with a zillion mods, etc) then when things get super crazy, game performance will suffer. Never seen any game that was an exception to this.

That’s why people who NEED the max performance crank their settings way down. I’ve never cared to do that, I like my games to be beautiful, and I’m not trying to win any competitions.

I actually went back to the default FOV in Vermintide and it boosted my performance significantly. The game is also a lot more immersive which I find more enjoyable. It took some re-learning since I was used to the wide FOV pretty much everyone seems to use… but now I like it more. Best when paired with surround sound headphones.

Since when is 80FPS stuttering? Guess if you drop from 150 to 80 its noticeable but 80FPS is nowehere near stuttering; im on 4070 Super and i play on 80-100 FPS most of the time

Stutter might be related to the buggy gibbing system after today’s update, it was cranked up to 12.

You can get 80fps but also really bad tearing or microstutters that make it look much worse or feel much worse, especially if the system is choking on something that drops the fps by half.

I actually really like the excessive emoji usage , it’s funny

But, they said that they are willing to sacrifice the performance for cool and big hordes(It was said in some dev blog, do not remember which tho), so it’s just something you have to live with :pensive:
