Basiaaclly since the update, Frame generation now caps the fps to 100-110 in game (and on the morniningstar)
turning it off lets ure fps go to its cap, and turning it back on gives the same behaviour (is repeatable)
my partner has the same issiue, and is again repeatable.
This has only hapepend since updating the game for the update, before it was stable and fine.
Can this be looked into as a prioty? its bit of a downer consdiering the update is otherwise good! (accept the ogryn nade spam in regular games now)

I can confirm that Framegen seems to be not properly working. Either is doing nothing at all or it seems to be weirdly stuck at 100~110 fps as described above
Our Engine Developers have kindly asked if anybody experiencing this issue could share their darktide_launcher.log
with us, please?
- Press the Windows key + R
- Enter
%appdata%
within the search input and select ‘OK’
- Navigate to
AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
- Locate the

in this directory

I investigated the behavior myself a bit more and may need to provide some clarification:
I try to use DLSS FG. FSR FG seems to work properly for me (it did not once, but works now).
From what I can tell it seems that Nvidia Reflex is not properly activated, i think? and DLSS Framegen NEEDS Reflex in order to work at all. But not sure. I just noticed that I do not get any usefel latency readings with SpecialK or Nvidias performance overlay which usually indicates a problem with reflex. But I might be wrong.
If there is anything you need to know or need to test, let me know.
Also I want to mention that DLSS Upscaling works fine, FSR FG works fine and DLSS Framegen works fine in any other games I have. I am therefore confident that the problem is not on my side.

To add, it fluctuates during the game as well: going from 100-110 to 120-124 and 141-130
this happens multiple times during the game
again it works: but it just limits the frame rate during the game randomly to these FPS limits. Its nice when it locks at 141, but it never used to lock before the update, so this is new, and is only for this game, its not on any other title i play.
would be great to hear if theres an update or at least a reason? Could it be that the dlss update you guys put on made it work for the 50 series folks, but for the 40 series it screwed up?
Do you both have ‘Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling’ enabled in Windows? I ask as this is a requirement, so if you could have a look for us, that would be super.
- Press the Windows key and type ‘Graphics Settings’
- Select ‘Graphics Settings’ from the menu
- Enable the setting ‘Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling’
- Restart your PC

Could it have something to do with the duel DLSS options? both trav and conv?
I know its a big ask, but removing the new verision of dlss that you added, and keepin the older one which worked could at least elimate that as a potential cause?
could be one is trying to overrite the over during game play mayby.

Yes its on. as mentioned it works in all other games. So the problem cannot be something like that.
Okie got a new varible for this issiue:
Play the game in windowed mode, and it works flawlessly.
no stutters or hitches, it just works.
switch back to full screen, problem comes back.
so… the problem then is the fullscreen implemntation in darktide which is causing it to drop frames up and down in set way.
Now, again anyone with more brains then me can explain why windowed mode fixes it, and fullscreen does not, please explain it!

With window mode (which continiues to work)
if your one pixel off (i.e 2560x1430) or (2549x1439) for instance the problem persisits even in windowed mode.
So its specific to fullscreen mode, and has to be a mandated resoultion and not a custom one.
hope this narrows it down.
so for it to work (till the problem in fullscreen is fixed) put it in window mode, and native resoultion. Anyhting else causes it to get imput lag, and cause the above problem.
TLDR: window mode: native resolution=fixed

I was reading this and since I am somewhat experience with such stuff I was thinking “that sounds like snake oil”
but lol… it indeed works if the game is set to windowed mode. I am now how that makes sense from a technical PoV but it indeed works properly with windowed mode.
Anyhow this of course should still be looked into since it should work without problem with fullscreen as well.
EDIT: Also since its running in windowed mode Flipmetering is not enabled for Framegen which significantly reduces the latency. ALT+Enter into fullscreen once it works keeps framegen active and uses flipmetering. But this means on the next game start you have to switch to windowed mode once to enable FG and switch back to fullscreen with Alt+Enter to get the best experience. Whcih is one reason why it should be fixed for fullscreen
So I was jut playing around with and I do not know what exactly happened. I reset the entire config of the game, started it in fullscreen, enabled framegen and it works without any windowed workaround… I am sure I tested exactly this 2 days ago.

So based on your account @Hakairo this sounds like an AppData/user_settings.config
issue. @Killerz34 I recommend doing this:
Step 1: Disable Steam Cloud Saving
If Steam Cloud saving is enabled for Darktide, this may automatically restore the AppData and consequently cause the issue to resurface.
- Navigate to your Steam library
- Right-click Darktide
- Select ‘Properties’
- On the ‘General’ tab, scroll down to ‘Steam Cloud’
- Disable ‘Keep game saves in the Steam Cloud for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide’
Step 2: Delete AppData
NOTE: By deleting your AppData, custom keybindings will be reset. You may wish to make a back-up of the directory in the event deleting your AppData does not work to resolve the issue.
- Press the Windows key + R
- Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
- Navigate to:
AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
- Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
Step 3: Verify Integrity of Game Files
You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and will ensure the installation is complete.
- Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
- Select ‘Properties’
- Select the ‘Local Files’ tab
- Select the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ button
- When complete, close and reopen Steam

Agian sorry to bombard this thread:
I reinstalled both my drivers- and my game. disabled the cloud, and removed all mods. TWICE.
The issiue still persists.
I tried other games with frame gen (dying light 2, space marine 2) and both i can play flawless without the issiue in this title.
It is 100% something that was introduced in this update. I would guess there is some wierd interaction between either:
A: Both DLSS models talkin to eachother and keep overiding at random times (conv vs Trans)
which btw if you press windows key quickly in game and go back in, the fps window changes (Eg if it was capped at 100, press windows key, go back into game it could go to 124, or 138)
B: turning off DLSS and just having frame gen on makes this issiue dissapear.
C: leaving DLSS on, and turning frame gen OFF, makes this issiue dissapear.
I have exhausted my options, i have resintalled everything from scratch on my end. made sure the game is as vanillia as possable.
hopefully someone figures this out.
