I haven’t seen many people talk about this but I really can’t get over how we are lacking very basic features like the ability to dm someone in game. How come I can add someone I played with as a friend but not DM them later to see if they want to play. Also, why can’t I talk on strike team in the mourningstar.
For how they talked about the live service and how they wanted it to be more like destiny 2 I feel like it heavily lacks basic features that allow you to feel more like a living place instead of just you alone in a bubble, with people around you can’t interact with, having to outsource the social side of the game. Why can’t I just add people in game as opposed to having to add them on steam first. A global chat would help very much with the LFG instead of resorting to discord, which not everyone uses o wants to use, it’s so much more of a hassle as opposed to just doing everything in game.
Game came out clearly unfinished, hard to debate that. My theory continues to be since their owners at Tencent lost a significant amount of money recently and are desperate for capital pushed this out now in an effort to cash in on that fact that most 40k fans are whales (look at the prices of the models if you don’t understand what I mean)
Considering how Incredible Toxic this Community is.
I actually would Prefer there to be as Little Social Features as Possible.
If they Allowed People to DM me after a Match I would Likely need to Blacklist 50 People a Day telling me to Refund because I dared having Fun in a Game they Hate but which they Refuse to Leave regardless and instead keep Haunting like some Vengeful Spirit of Hatred…
A missing social function is, for me, a quick chat (in hub and in game), to share basic information without langage blocking.
Hello, agree, disagree, Come here, need assistance, searching strike team,…
The purpose is to have a minimum interaction in the hub (is paradoxal : we have a multiplayer hub but I dont have possibility to ask to somebody to create strike team) to create link between player.
For me, this is a basic function that should be present in every multiplayer cooperation game.
When I read the title of this thread I thought it would be about the social activities that were advertised for the hub. I bet most of the things you mention will be implemented after a couple of months … or years … you know, whenever there is time to deliver the rest of the advertised (base game) content.
My man. What you have in mind are probably social activities in Social Hub.
Sadly for us, what we currently have is Shopping Mall. The activities are camping RNG store and buying premium currency.
I mean, sure, social activities would be nice but i just can’t believe there isn’t a way to even talk or add people within the game or talk to strike chat while in the mourningstar. It seems such a basic thing for any multiplayer game yet they are going to add more maps and weapons before this (not to say I don’t want more maps and weapons but again, BASIC feature)
I hope it comes and the chat refines the social system now is very bare bones. I would like to see a Clan like system. wich I understand would be an act of sedition in itself but being able to have a system ware we can communicate with friends of friends would be nice. In game the more we remove areselves from the game the less I feel like the hub itself is important or little more than a place to laugh at some of the creative names people come up with. wich gets old rather fast. The menu itself feels like it has a variety of problems to wich are probably rather low on the priority scale.
