What was the patch yesterday? Extreme lag

Yea, they still happen. I just deleted the game and I’m doing a clean install. See if that help.

Also, 1 thing I noticed… When I played on Recruit, I didn’t seem to get affected? Perhaps it is indeed tied to the hordes or AI director or something? Legend games the lag is nearly non-stop during hordes and pretty bad the rest of the time as well.

Tried messing around with different Graphics settings, turned everything to around high on DX12. Still was getting 35-55FPS during hordes, much better than the 22FPS with everything turned off or on low with DX11. But I still kept getting them screen freezes -_-

I just want to note that everywhere I look only people with Nvidia cards seem to suffer from the issues of this topic.

Fps loss during hordes and screen freezes:

FS_NeZ:
Gigabyte GTX 1060 Windforce

[LnG]Ghiacciolo:
gt1060

Rack CS.MONEY:
GTX 1070ti

Wolke:
1050ti

Only screen freezes:

EdgyDabs6969
1070 (this one got rid of it, tried it myself did not work)

Unfortunately most people don’t share their PC composition.
Coincidence I think no… might be but It’s strange I didn’t even find one person with an AMD card. Well but the ratio of Nvidia to AMD is 70% / 30%.

Im on a 4000 usd machine. I can rock every game in exsistece on ultra while running multiple porn sites and still get a million fps. Vt2 gives me 80 on avg on dx11 and around 90-100 on dx12. On dx12 i still get stuttering every 30s. Ive tried reverting to previous drivers and even tried to play with my old 1070 and 1050 cards. No effect on the stuttering

Well, gonna try a few games now with a fresh install.

Nope, it made no difference. Still massive lag XD Also, interesting enough, I was hosting for my discord group. And when ever my screen would freeze, all the mobs would stop moving as well for everyone else in my game.

Switching back to DX11 with it’s shitty performance.

Ok, so I turned off Vsync. I’m getting 96 FPS through normal gameplay, but hordes drop me down to 22-29 FPS even on the lowest settings with DX11. Tested on DX12 and I’m getting around the same, 90 FPS. But on DX12 I still stay around 60 FPS during hordes. Just get the nasty screen freezes.

Sorry i cannot help/report for at least one more week, out for vacation

Probably we should share also the nvidia drivers package version. Cya

The issue in DX12 could potentially be due to that cache, but we can’t be for sure unless we hook you up with a profiler. However that you get that low frame rate in DX11 is kinda weird.

One reason for weird stalls and slow downs I’ve seen in the past is that some cpu.s throttle themself if they get overheated. Could be a good idea to check that the temperature is not too high. However i’m guessing this is not the cause for most ppl.

I posted my Temps before, CPU and GPU never go above 60C.

@Axloss

My wife just reminded me to try DX12 now that there has been a new patch. When she got the same issue, the Summer Solstice patch fixed it for her. When my mate had this problem, the big Quest Update fixed it for him.

Sure enough, fire up the game with DX12, no issues lol. The last patch fixed it for me. I’m currently running the game on high settings, around 85-90 FPS with my FPS capped at 90. During hordes I drop to around 60 FPS. GPU is sitting around 55-70% usage. Compared to nearly 90-100% usage before when I was getting 22 FPS… lmao.

So there is obviously something in your coding that’s causing these issues. I’ve have not downloaded anything new or patched/updated Windows or my GPU drivers since the last time you suggested it to me. There is a lot of threads about this just on this forum, and it seems to randomly happen to people for no reason. One patch everything is fine, next patch your game freezes every 10 seconds or so…

It’s probably too many variables in order to find what was causing your issue. But I’m glad to hear that it works now. But yes, we do tend to fix bugs between patches

edit: to clarify we might have fixed your issue even if I’m unaware what was causing it.

I still get screen freezes with DX12 but they are no longer random (I think). I noticed it can go of when any mage casts a spell but also if anybody else uses a hitscan weapon. So it might not be connected to the weapon at all but the the stuff dying to it but I tend to notice loud bangs and flames more as a human. It still freezes in other moments where I don’t notice anything special.

And on DX11 hordes still cause fps drops.

Yea, with the new beta, I’m back to DX12 issues lol. Still drop to 22-28fps on hordes with DX11

I my currently playing wit DX12 (freezes) and had my longest screen freeze in 2 weeks it was about 3s long and happened:
In the 1.3 BBPB as a BH as a client. Place the stairs leading up to the temple gates on righteous stand. In front of me diverse chaos enemies I was aiming for the CW with the repeater pistol (crit active). So I quickly spun up that thing and hit fire and that’s exactly the moment it froze nobody else lagged in that moment only me. I’m not sure if the shot ever fired.

I hope it helps unfortunately I forgot to hit win+alt+G to save a video of it.

Btw you silently buffed that weapon slightly against S-armor (+1dmg/bullet on crit-body & 2dmg/bulled on crit-head) but I wasn’t able to oneshot a CW in the body as BH. Got up to 108 dmg with properties and talents dough. Hitting the head kills a CW.

Yea, when I host and get these freezes, all the mobs in game stop moving as well.

The last one might not have been that useful so here is another one:

yea… that’s the same issue I get.

@Axloss Have you guys looked into this anymore?

It runs completely smooth in between just how it used to before 1.2.
