Well this applies to me also. I’m a fan of Tide style games and have a semi decent group of gaming mates who also enjoy the core gameplay, despite all the frustrations with the state of the game. I couldn’t be more critical without going into the childish “Are we there yet?” complaining we see on the forums atm.
However, it is hard to deny Fatshark are running on a loan of “good will” also in our group. We are used to buggy launches from Fatshark. Darktide is fun, but lack of content is going to catch up with us sooner or later. At that point we are likely to take a break from the game.
Regarding micro-transactions someone else was criticising me for, we are aware these were in V2, what we dislike is their presence in a game which is basically paid early beta and the worst possible practices implemented from digital “currencies”, the pricing tricks (where you always are left with left over “currency” to encourage you to “waste not” and buy more. FOMO tactics, and poor choice of cosmetics you can “earn” through actually playing the game.
What was the most disappointing so far is gaslighting from Fatshark leadership, who pretend everything is all right and according to the plan.
