What is martydom balanced for?

The cooldown nerf is just barf. The only thing good about the shout is the node with extra toughness state, especially rolling with a chorus Zealot the 2 of you will keep that golden Poxburster insurance alive all game. Waiting for the game to go sideways to have an ult that might be good if people drop on top of each other is not good.

Especially again from the perspective of pubs where the majority of downs are just stragglers anyway, like the times I’ve had shout and people aren’t even in radius to use it was enough for me to go ‘wow, do I really need to suffer more CDR for this’.

Because nobody seems to use it preemptively, including the ppl arguing here (at least 1 of 'em), they save it for downs only i.e. doesn’t get used.
Then ofc there are the penalties for taking revives.

P.S. Scroll up, it’s all been discussed; tired of repeating stuff for the 3rd time. Ounce of prevention…

P.P.S. Within coherency for tuf overshield (nice) but not for the meh stagger and revives, it’s 9m base, reduced by 33% w/ revives. That 5s of 20% dmg is the ability mod all the way at the end of the middle tree, but a reasonable (?) assumption it’s there (not part of the shout). But again, ults only work if activated.
Come to think of it, I hope the 2 are indeed respecting coherency and not the reduced radius.

Been thinking more about how bothered some people seem to be by Martyrdom having inverse scaling with difficulty. I think there are two main things to consider here.

  1. Pretty sure it’s balanced for Damnation, in case +48% melee damage, +24% attack speed, and +30% TDR didn’t tip you of. Highly doubt 7 (8 on lowest difficulty? Can’t remember) stacks is what they balanced it around.

  2. Instead of thinking of it as getting more powerful on lower difficulties, consider that this allows it to be more usable without grinding up as many wounds curios. I think it makes more sense in that context, since if you’re playing at a lower difficulty you probably haven’t been playing as long/are playing more casually. Conflicts somewhat with martyrdom being at the bottom of the tree, but if you rush it you can get it a good bit before max level.

I have anecdotal evidence to support this. I told my friend about this Martyrdom build and suggested he try it. But he told me he doesn’t have the +1 Wound curios to make it work.
