Of course it does, and it was clear as the sun for every human that had ever played a videogame mode in which you place limited tries+demotion…I mean, WoW Mythic+ system is there as an example of the toxic swamp you get when you implement modes like these.
A shame that I keep getting rejected from 25+ games despite being havoc level 17 with a skulls frame and badge to show I’ve done all the penances.
Getting rejected gives me insane resentment. It’s such a nasty system. I’ve been refreshing the 25-30 page for about 30 minutes now. Been rejected on the only game that appeared in that time.
I did a 24 level game yesterday and it was a piece of cake. As if havoc level actually means a player is going to be better
That’s why I’d rather would have had a system like above. If you want to be all sweat go with Our full stack. If you want to simply have fun QP or tailor your challenge to your level.
You should work on your mindset.
People get rejected everywhere.
Why get mad at people for not wanting to play with you?
It is probably nothing personal. Even if it is… so what?
There are probably people that you would not want to play with, for one reason or an other.
That‘s life.
Waiting 30 mins for a game to show up to be rejected on the only 1 that does, when my profile clearly shows I’m no slouch, is something that most people will get very resentful over.
Some people might even reject you for not playing the „right“ class.
If course it is annoying, but aside from being annoyed about having to wait, i really would not think about it too much.
I would suggest that you open your own lobby, but with the current progression system, you probably cant really progress that way right now.
I initially thought that you were resentful towards the person rejecting you. But you can not blame people for doing what ever they think will improve their chance of success.
If you are resentful about the bad design choice leading to this situation (immediate progress only for „host“), that is totally understandable though.
Sure I understand this. It still makes me very frustrated. In the end it’s the system I resent, not the host per se. They just become a target for my emotions as I sit bored out of my skull waiting for a level 25 or 26 game to appear.
I know I shouldn’t feel like this but at the same time I know the system shouldn’t be designed to encourage it and unfortunately it does.
You of all people should see the gaping flaws in this system, surely? Even on paper it sounds terrible.
Simply removing the threat of losing your current tier would help mitigate a huge portion of the toxicity. That 1 simple and obvious fix that FS will never do
This is FS’s constant MO. When they finally do communicate about upcoming changes and ask for “feedback” the reality is that the window for the feedback to actually inform the design had already closed.
The one exception to this appears to have been the itemization rework in a few instances, such as adding the sacrifice option. But I suspect that change was made less driven by the “community” wanting to see something like that and more by the closed testing group / select individuals with closer access also pushing for it. I don’t know. Frustrating.
They could say ‘hey, we’re taking all the feedback, unfortunately reworking the systems will delay the update by a month’ and while people would probably be a little skeptical of that being true (versus standard-issue Fatshark Incompetence delaying the update a month), it would at least mean something.
But nah. Gotta stick your d*ck in the blender and ignore everyone telling you it’s a bad idea, because you know what the players really need is a horrid RNG fest.
Keep in mind all of the feedback regarding rank deterioration, quickplay, the party finder and the lack of player agency was given the moment havoc was announced.
This is EXACTLY the same sht they pulled with weaves during Winds of Magic. Classic case of Fatshark “they don’t know what they’re talking about, we’ll ignore their feedback and give them what we planned. It’s better.” arrogance.
For Havoc, they changed how the weekly decay functions based on feedback and raised the Auric Maelstrom boost from 10 to 16. And it seems they’re working on addressing the lagged off-host progression too.
Yes it’s much better that way. That should be the only form of decay imo. This whole “3 strikes and your out” is truly horrible. Teammate RNG overload.
