Are you intending to add other missions to the same zone so that we’re not doing the same mission in the same place all the time?
I mean, try to look at it logically, even from the cynical publisher perspective: Delay = no reviews, people ranting as always. Game comes out and what do you think would happen? Review bombing? People would buy this only to say they had to wait too long and thus gave a negative review?
No.
Game comes out, FINISHED, and gets a much better rep which gives hope in a team that knew they weren’t finished and did everything to deliver a quality product.
Instead they release a literally, fact-proven, unfinished game, that feels like a mutated child of inbreeding capitalists., and the rest is overwhelmingly negative.
Last Heresy match I had a Psyker blow themself up 3 times in one game. I was genuinely flabbergasted. I think I’ve blown myself up maybe twice in 80 hours or so of Psyker. I guess some people genuinely struggle with monitoring Peril, but I struggle to see it as a downside of the class when you have complete control over it.
I often get myself up to the 90s myself but immediately start quelling. The issue I have is it leaves you completely defenseless for far too long. I get it that psykers don’t have to reload their weapons or pick up ammunition but I almost would prefer picking up ammo to doing 2 brain burst to take out one ogryn baddie then being destroyed by the horde attacking you while you quell peril. The veteran can focus down an ogryn enemy in seconds and still compete just fine… ive actually saved the entire party with my veteran, the psyker can’t do that. I just find it incredibly unfun
I play psyker with a combat axe so I can cast axe while passive quelling and then disengage to staff/brain burst when it’s low enough. It’s pretty much how I played unchained in VT, except no melee weapon bonus (the damage increase at high peril is too low with the force sword, and I don’t like the force sword moveset).
Pretty much what Zaygr said. I don’t have this issue at all using non force melee. I’ve had a Heresy run recently with Psyker where I had to solo all the way to the first scanning area in Hab Dreyko through a boss and a lot of spawns due to a combination of people not joining for ages and the one person who did spawning into the middle of a horde and dying immediately.
I do think it’s a problem that force sword is bad, but Psyker with your non force melee weapon of choice and a staff can be extremely versatile with practically no down time. I’m mostly only manually quelling if my team is slouching on killing shooters so I’m stuck beyond cover BBing them all down for a while.
Not saying you’re wrong to not enjoy the class, just sharing the way I play that has made Psyker the most enjoyable class to play for me. I love how much I’m switching between all my tools depending on what the situation calls for. I love having a tool for every situation and being able to prioritise whatever my PUG team is lacking to pull us through to a victory.
I wasn’t freezing before but I do now. Also my ogryn shovel done got brokt so a fix sooner than later would be good. Actually rolled my eyes at the ‘we’ll have a blog about crafting soon’.
The game needs deeper gear customisation and modification. Even if crafting, traits and blessings were working 100% I feel the game would really benefit from additional layers of choice.
Separate weapon paintjobs from their models and have them both as customisation categories.
Why can we buy recolours of some of the free penance cosmetics and not others? Why cant we recolour premium cosmetics in anyway?
Scope customisation is the bare minimum this game needs. Additional mods that can vary the weapon’s base stats could be interesting, whether they’re slapped on the side as a module (DRG overclock style) or by say changing the grip of a weapon to increase attack speed but reduce the stagger. I know this goes directly against the cod comment, but I don’t see how it’d be a bad feature as long as all of the combinations are reasonably balanced.
This game is not fun because it’s designed as a live service game.

I often feel like a Darktide apologist. I enjoy the game, and want my friends to enjoy it, too, but it seems like we’re stuck in a pattern of, ‘one step forward, two steps backward’.
Step forward: Buff psykers to make them competitive with the most popular classes, great! Illisi Force Sword = Chef’s Kiss! More charges = more better!

Taking something fun away from the dwindling population only dwindles that population further. If a class isn’t getting enough love, give the class something for people to love.

I don’t hate the cash shop, just make it reasonably priced (I’ll pay $20-30 for a full set out of outfits for all my classes, I just did for VT2…).
Why lock perk and blessing slots? Half the fun of VT2 was rerolling stats to your heart’s content.
Why no more “perfect” weapons like VT2 had? Trying different builds is fun, RNG is not.
Why not shared resources?
Why not alts as bots?
What happened to weapon accessories (scopes, sights, etc.)?
Perhaps I’m spouting hereticus, but I really enjoy DT and hope that FS will consider prefacing decisions with, “will this make the game more fun?”

Lock Removal is an instant buy. But of course I’m checking for the monkey’s paw to curl when that happens. Caveats are the knife in the back for impulsiveness.
Also buff Huntsman.
Remove locks on perks and blessings. This is a no brainer.
Other than that i wouldnt mind cosmetics coming back, but thats gonna happen anyways just a matter of when.
Core loop is fantastic.
Balance of the game is wack.
Not enough content.
Too much RNG, too much grind.

Some designs are straight up unfun and anti consummer.
- Increased ogryn groups on maps is a really good change.
- We need more content: New Class the most (Assassin please), new maps and new weapons are also welcome.
- Psyker staff needs a real special action.
- Fix plasma gun and add bulwark penetration.
- Add new difficulty or some monsterous difficulty modifier to the top skilled players.
- Ogryn’s ability to f over the other players needs a look.
- Modifiers are great, we need more! Also make Lights Out independent from increased Demon Host spawns, ability to stealth on the map is really fun.
- We need faster previews of things that are coming (mainly new content), there should be some things to look forward to at least a month in advance.
- Recent “designer’s comments” on the balance patches is great.
- More communication lately from CM is welcome.

Edit: 15. I know it’s hard, but please add 1 or 2 more enemies with full carapace armor in the 500-100 hp range so that Rending and Brittleness and Anti-armor weapons have some extra time to shine.

Better design intent and the willingness to be flexible with the design intent as well, if something was added to the game by mistake or it does not function as intended but still makes the game feel better without creating an imbalance, leave it in.

I agree with everything already stated.
This entire game was clearly just a machine for monetization. I expected a full AAA release from FatShark and Darktide is basic app quality at best. Learned my lesson about that. No more pre-orders for me. I truly hope this game causes the company to fail. No more money from me. I regret every single dollar I’ve spent on Darktide.
There are a lot of bad WH license games out there but as far as I’m concerned this is the new diadem of excrement in that crown of awful releases.
Game is fine. NOW GIVE US MORE GAME.
