Weekly Missions feedback

Throwing out general thoughts on weekly missions, their difficulty / rewards, and what should be changed.

General weekly feedback

The reward amount suck for how much time it takes. Flat out if I do literally an entire weeks worth of missions I should be able to afford ANYTHING in the shop short of adding red items.

Current items are also terrible most of the time. There really shouldn’t be anything that has a sub 360-350 base gear score when the item itself costs 2000-3000 or more and requires sometimes 2 weeks of missions.

kill X amount of Dregs or Scabs in Melee / Ranged

These missions are generally fine. It’s missions like this that I wish there were more of as you can do them anywhere and they just kind of happen. I would also accept a “Kill X number of elites / specialists” since it’s just something that happens. The reward amounts are ok for what you are doing.

Complete 25 missions

This is asking a large time investment for what really amounts to a kind of crap reward. Yes yes I hear you say “it’s just playing the game” but even being generous and assuming you are somehow pulling 15 minute mission times that’s still 375 minutes or a little over 6 god dam hours for not even 500 of the credits. Either reduce the missions required or increase the rewards if you want people to run 6 hours or more worth or missions.

kill X monstrosities

Once again this is kind of ok. On higher level missions you run into enough of them that it’s fair but you can also just run assassination missions, the reward seems ok

X number scriptures / grims

I find this is a mixed bag. On one hand it is simple enough to do but I find the actual amount that are required to be wildly obnoxious, especially the top end scripts. You have missions that give 3 scrips and your top end requires 25 meaning even if you are perfect you ALWAYS need to do an extra mission for the last scripture so it’s always a minimum of 9 missions. Not to mention the reward should be bumped a little to 600 or so for the max level one.

complete X number of secondary missions at location

Please remove this entirely. I do not know what the dev team was thinking by including such a heavy RNG dependent weekly when you have 0 control over when secondary missions show up but also 0 control over difficulty and mission location in general. It’s no exaggeration when I say that there has been days where certain locations just didn’t pop secondary missions unless it was a level 5 or a 1. I know people will say “just re-roll” but if everyone just re-rolls it then you are basically just admitting you stuck a weekly in designed to be obnoxious.

complete X missions with no player deaths

I think this is pretty good and would like more missions along this line. Generally it would be good to have stuff that rewards good team play and be doable on any mission. On the other hand considering

ideas for new weeklies

Generally new weeklies should be things that encourage team play or be things that you are going to be doing as your class.

*Pick up / rescue X number of teammates

*Use your class ability X number of times

*Get X number of kills / assists with your grenade / secondary ability

*stay in coherency for X number of minutes

*kill X number of specialists / elites

Hopefully we can get some new weeklies that less annoying to do and can be done without having to be at the mercy of mission RNG.

I agree with the comments on the existing types. I do think however that all numbers should probably be lowered unless weeklies get somehow counted account-wide.

Good suggestions for possible new ones! I especially like the coherency one.

We could even have stuff like “finish 3 missions without picking up ammo crates” or “finish 3 missions using X weapon” (those’d be class based though).
I like 3 missions, it’s the magic number.
