Weapon stats cap at 80%... Why not 100%?

So, weapon stats seem to never go past 80% of their max value : Why ?
Like, why have a 100% value if the max is 80, just either allow us to have more than 80 or make the 80% the actual 100% stat value, this is so weird

It’s probably going to be for the ‘reds’ that were present in the Vermintide games, as an additional RNG to chase. I haven’t heard of anyone getting their hands on one, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they weren’t in the game and won’t be any time soon.

If it’s like VT2 it might only be from Emperor’s gift on max difficulty, since there are no more chests to open. Pretty lame. Who knows though? A lot has changed from VT2, but I bet they aren’t even in the game at the moment.

Damnation is still currently dropping around base power 300 purple and oranges for me. Ive been playing that since last week. If the chances are the same as the boxes in vt2 its gonna take forever to drop a red at this rate. Im pretty sure theyre not in the game anyways. Probably will be added with the crafting. That combine blessings botton that doesnt have a coming soon lable, but its not active might have something to do with that.

I wound like to think they purposefully leave some room for future contents to grow.
Because its life service game after all.
Don’t mind how it is right now, only wish there are more variants soon.

If you look at the potential outcomes for consecrating a weapon in the crafting area, you’ll see that it implies your weapons modifiers are supposed to go up by a random amount. So presumably when they get upgrades working correctly, you can push those numbers past the base max of 80% (right now upgrading a weapon doesn’t improve the modifiers at all.) If that’s how it works a grey weapon that can be upgraded the most will have the highest potential for growth. So start saving 350+'s you like now just in case lol

Consecrating doesn’t affect weapon stats at all, the rating increase is from the properties and blessings.

Correct, it does not, but the menu implies that it will in the window that shows the potential changes to the weapon. (Added before and after upgrade images.)

I think it’s currently a bug that’s pulling the values from the full upgrade rating change in the coloured section of the weapon card. The base rating will always be lower than the total rating because of the blessings and properties, so the implication that the potential base rating can be higher than the total rating is definitely not right.

Maybe!

They may need a new higher difficulty setting once full crafting and this game’s version of reds are released. The power spike from people able to get maxed out weapons and curios, along with getting tier 4 blessings on them will be huge.

That’s because the new perk being added is literally what is adding the extra point value, nothing else, it’s such a crappy system it annoys me, NOT being able to get improved stats from upgrading is crappy.

I do think this 80% limit is weird. And I sincerely hope that Artifact weapons (reds) will have a different shtick than just 20% higher stats on everything. What’s even the point of that? I don’t want perfection, I want choice.
But, I guess this is fatshark, so getting a random perfect item of a type I do not like after days of grind might be their diea of a good time.

Pretty sure thats just a ui bug and the modifiers are not supposed to change when you consecrate a weapon.

Yeah they confirmed modifiers won’t go up that way.
